I remember watching him on TJ Hooker and not thinking he was remotely sexy. Seemed to be one of those Hollywood sex symbols that was a TV executive's version of "hot." David Hasselhoff was another one.
Adrian Zmed - Did anyone actually find him hot?
by Anonymous | reply 71 | August 13, 2020 9:29 AM |
I want to sniff his bikini briefs
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 9, 2020 5:40 PM |
no...
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 9, 2020 5:41 PM |
He's headless now, R3?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 9, 2020 5:43 PM |
I used to watch Bachelor Party on HBO just to catch him with his shirt off and jerk off. I was 13.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 9, 2020 5:43 PM |
I saw Grease 2 at an impressionable young age and remember finding him oddly alluring.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 9, 2020 5:44 PM |
I saw him, Dee Dee Conn, Donnie Most and some DL patron saint whose name escapes me doing some play where they read letters onstage. He was good and looked good too. I may have alzheimers because this was in February and I can't remember the name of it.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 9, 2020 5:44 PM |
Merv Griffin apparently found him hot
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 9, 2020 5:45 PM |
Another guy that was supposed to be "hot" but I didn't see it: Bart Braverman
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 9, 2020 5:46 PM |
R9 Did they have a thing? tell us more.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 9, 2020 5:47 PM |
The porn performer Ashton Summers looks like him when he was younger.
He was very sexy in Grease 2, but he looks awful flashing that big cheesy smile in OP's photo.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 9, 2020 5:47 PM |
It's funny how desperately I wanted thick feathered black hair like his when I was 13, and now it looks so awful to me.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 9, 2020 5:48 PM |
Was it "Love Letters", r8?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 9, 2020 5:49 PM |
Zmed was always super cheesy and came off as completely narcissistic, which killed any attraction I might have had otherwise.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 9, 2020 5:50 PM |
The poor man's Erik Estrada.

Almost 20 years ago I caught Zmed and Mackenzie Phillips in their tour of the sticks in Same Time, Next Year. Zmed replaced an "injured" Jeff Conaway at the last minute.

Jesus, r20
How many cities did you catch him in?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 9, 2020 6:00 PM |
Thanks for that extensive schedule, r20. It will prove so useful when I put the pins up on my wall map of the United States to see where they played and when.

I think old Merv fantasized about Mame. I remember a DL post from years ago describing all the attention he gave Lucy Ball at the time but behind her back made a point of emphasizing that even he would have done a better job.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 9, 2020 6:03 PM |
When William Shatner hosted SNL, they did a parody of a TJ Hooker episode, and Dana Carvey played the Adrian Zmed character. He wore a wig of feathered black hair that was fluffed up about a full foot high.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 9, 2020 6:04 PM |
R26 Too funny. I remember thinking that William Shatner's TJ Hooker hairpiece was too dark and unnatural looking.

He needs to buy a vowel.

I saw him on Broadway as the Narrator in "Blood Brothers". I was there to see Carole King and he just happened to be in the way.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 9, 2020 6:13 PM |
You just know there was a TJ Hooker epsiode centered around Adrian Zmed going undercover as a male stripper.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 9, 2020 6:18 PM |
Oh my God! Thank you, r30! I was just last night having a heated argument here in Miami about WHAT was playing Nov. 6th, 2020 at the Capitol Centre in North Bay, Ontario! Earnings, caftans, and insults we're flying and tears and blood were shed! But, thanks to your confirmation, I win! I win at last! Long live Adrian Zmed!

Never heard of him until now. Yes, he's hot (at least then)
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 9, 2020 6:38 PM |
I saw Edward Mulhare (The Ghost and Mrs. Muir) and Kathryn Crosby (Bing's widow) in their Same Time, Next Year tour stop in Greensboro, NC.

R16, it was Middletown and the woman I forgot was Sandy Duncan. I can't believe I forgot because I was staring at her eye and when she lost her place on the script I wondered if it was because of her eye. My husband got me tickets for Valentines and before the performance they all ran thro the theater and gave high fives and this was around the time I started freaking out about coronavirus and just sat there concentrating on not touching my face and wondering if they Purelled their hands after the audience touchfest. You know who was good and looked good, was Donnie Most. He had a pretty touching performance and so did Didi Conn.

Which was a bigger TV has-been curse to the playhouses and theaters of mid-sized towns across America: "Same Time, Next Year" or "Love Letters"?
I would say "Love Letters" because they didn't even have to memorize the lines. They just read from their scripts onstage.

he was on chicago's bozo's circus filling in for cookie, i think

I remember Bart Braverman, but not for ever being hot or even supposedly hot. He always seemed as goofy as the characters he played.
Zmed on the other hand acted like he knew he was sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 9, 2020 8:27 PM |
In OP’s pic, from the neck up, he looks like a girl wearing earrings. He looks like my very Brooklyn-Italian cousin.

So disagree. Saw him in "Blood Brothers' and Rosie's "Grease". He has great voice.

I can’t get a handle on Bart Braverman’s ethnicity, he looks Indian!

Isn't Braverman of the homosexual variety?

I saw Adrian Zmed in a touring production of Grease. It was awful and he was awful. He's supposed to have a good singing voice, but not that performance on that day.

by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 9, 2020 10:21 PM |
I think Bart Braverman looks Indian because he looks Indian, not because he played one on an episode of Seinfeld. Actually he could also play middle eastern, or any generic ethnicity. Maybe he was adopted? He’s very dark. Isn’t Braverman a Jewish name? maybe he’s Sephardic

I'm not a 'TJ Hooker' fan, but sometimes I'll have it on in the background and will always stop what I'm doing when Zmed is shirtless on there (which is often). I believe it comes on Antenna TV or Decades; one of the so-called mesothelioma channels.
