The phrase “___ on a stick“ probably refers to carnivals or fairs offering food on a stick - caramel apples, meat, cotton candy - tasty treats that are easy to take with you and require no plates or utensils to enjoy. In other words, Good To Go.

r2 it seems like there was a period where popular food items were being sold at State Fairs typically that have been skewered "on a stick" for ease of handling
