Eldergays, did you like Salt-N-Pepa when they hit it big in the late 80s/early 90s?

If not, did you like Push It? That song is still a BOP years later. Or any of their songs?

What was the talk about them when they came out?

They were horrible. For a few years they were always on the radio with their shitty songs.

They were fun. I've never been very fond of hip-hop, but I enjoyed their hits.

Loved them. There were some great female rappers early on besides S&P: Monie Love, Latifah, Missy Elliott, of course.

One of best rappers ever. They had hits. Their songs are better than anything Drake has ever done

by Anonymousreply 7August 4, 2020 10:41 PM

Yes, and they are great in concert. Saw them 2 years ago.

by Anonymousreply 8August 4, 2020 10:51 PM

I LOVED them

by Anonymousreply 9August 4, 2020 10:55 PM

No.

by Anonymousreply 10August 4, 2020 10:55 PM

No.

by Anonymousreply 11August 4, 2020 10:55 PM

Nope.

by Anonymousreply 12August 4, 2020 11:19 PM

Absolutely. They were talented and actually looked like they were having fun.

by Anonymousreply 13August 5, 2020 12:15 AM

I love Shoop

Their shit was terrible. Thank God for Kim and Foxy who saved rap from the twee Salt and Pepa garbage.

I liked “Push It” and that’s it. I can appreciate their contribution but didn’t really like it, if that makes sense.
