I thought VV went under. I thought Larry Kramer was dead. Oh well.

He IS dead.

Faucci was incompetent then and he is now. SAD!

199,999 Americans will die from the COVID-19 this year.

OP, this article is super disturbing and I had no idea of its existence....

Is Fauci really as bad, bureaucratic, and inept (and “unimaginative”) in finding solutions to huge public health problems as the author of this piece suggests?

And does he really not care how long these things take or about getting things done to save lives as quickly as possible?

I’m wondering to myself (if this article is accurate) if there’s any chance that Fauci has changed since the time it was written(?)

To be honest, that article freaked me out and I really had no idea that he had been in charge (and possibly *ineptly* so) of major American health crises for so long!

If that article is at all accurate and Fauci is a stone cold, “heartless” bureaucrat and also possibly still *hasn’t* changed since then (and then that also makes you wonder why on earth he has held that crucial position so long....) then I’m really freaking out here after reading that....

They make him sound like he’s not an “idea person” and doesn’t care how long an illness or public health crisis drags on. Almost like he’s a robot or something who doesn’t care about actual outcomes. I’m seriously hoping this is not the case :(

It's looking like hydroxychloroquine is going to become an approved therapy/prophylactic within the next year.

This is a spectacular political scandal brewing in medicine. I never had a dog in this fight, but the people who banned its use or experimentation with it... good luck.

Is Fauci on the spectrum? I can’t with these empathy-free freaks anymore.

OP/R5 quit your bullshit. this is at least the second time you've tried to peddle this crap. you're deliberately misinterpreting this study (cell culture; not human trial) and misidentifying its publication (there is no NIH journal). please join potus in guzzling the chloroquin you're desperate to sell. it's one thing to be wrong, it's another to know you're wrong and continue to push your perverse agenda.

Oops.

I did read it, you troglodyte. Because it was written in 1984, it doesn't speak to the changes Fauci made in the late 80s and 90s, where he successfully pushed for incorporating activist recommendations in federal health policy. It doesn't address his changed relationship with the activist community. In short, because it was written in 1984, it doesn't address the last 36 years. But don't take my word for it - read the posts here about Fauci, because all of this was discussed at length in March and April.

Finally, learn the difference between choloroquin vs hydroxychloroquin, and bench research vs clinical trials. This study doesn't say what you're purporting it to say. Take your own advice, and just read it. But this time, look up the words you don't understand.
