I’m gonna microwave some fresh sweet corn I bought at our towns sweet corn festival today. 2 ears with lots of butter and salt!

by Anonymousreply 2July 31, 2020 6:29 PM

LOL, obvious jokes aside, sweet corn during the summer is great. I remember a few years ago me and some friends had a cook-out and my friend Beth brought several ears of sweet corn, shucks and all. We wound up preparing it and to this day that is the best corn I’ve ever tasted. We had all this other delicious food but I was going through that corn like a gofer. It wasn’t my cutest moment.

Corn just coming into season here. Will pick some up at the farmer’s market this weekend.

by Anonymousreply 9July 31, 2020 7:16 PM

Corn is fresh and sweet on the cob. I love bi color corn! Hot and dripping with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter - spray and sea salt.

by Anonymousreply 10July 31, 2020 7:18 PM

Remember to save those cobs...there's still a TP shortage.

by Anonymousreply 11July 31, 2020 7:20 PM

I’d have to soak em first?

We hate anything bi on DL.

[quote] I’d have to soak em first?

Do you drain them like pasta?

by Anonymousreply 14July 31, 2020 7:34 PM

No! I ask if I should soak em so it’s soft enough for my asshole!

by Anonymousreply 15July 31, 2020 7:36 PM

Bi corn is so sweet and full of fresh flavor!

by Anonymousreply 16July 31, 2020 7:37 PM

Favorite ways to cook? Steam, boil, roast, grill, microwave? On or off the cob? Toppings?

by Anonymousreply 17July 31, 2020 7:40 PM

Roasted in the husks and eaten with butter, salt and ancho chile powder.

by Anonymousreply 18July 31, 2020 8:37 PM

I used to know a guy who put sugar in the water when he boiled corn.

by Anonymousreply 19July 31, 2020 9:47 PM

Corn grilled in its husks is great. I always boiled corn but microwaving actually might be better.

by Anonymousreply 20July 31, 2020 10:12 PM

I like Lawry salt and butter. Also, has anyone tried Mexican street corn -- mayonnaise instead of butter, paprika or chili powder instead of salt.

by Anonymousreply 21July 31, 2020 10:28 PM

Like bicolor, but really prefer white corn. Here’s a great recipe for pasta with corn, making a faux alfredo. HIghly recommended!

I love it grilled with butter, lime and pepper. I also love it with just butter.

Now I want roasted corn.
