I believe the stories that Shelley Hack wasn’t treated well on CA and was intentionally given bad direction because if you look at the work she did post-CA, she’s a pretty good actress. For example, The Stepfather and a classic episode from Tales of the Crypt.

She starred in King of Comedy too.

Shelley was a good actress and my favorite CA.

Shelley Hack was really something! She took the entertainment industry by storm by accepting the much-sought-after role of Tiffany Welles on Charlie’s Angels in 1979.

I love how she tosses her hat, spins and bounces into the chic cafe booth while tossing her head back. As a little gay boy in Missouri, I thought this the height of sophistication.

She was the fall guy for a very uneven season with some very bad scripts. But there where some good episodes. Jaclyn Smith gives a terrific performance as Kelly addicted to heroin and Cheryl Ladd’s episode with Howard Duff is one of my favorites. I liked Shelly Hack. I just felt they never gave her a chance.

My favorite season four episode is ‘Nips & Tucks‘ guest starring Louis Jourdan, famous homo Tab Hunter and the infamously crazy Joanna Pettet! It’s actually one of my favorite Charlie’s Angels episodes of all time. Shelley’s performance is touching, especially when she’s counseling the patient who is wrapped up like a mummy after surgery.

I liked that episode from 1980 too, r12.

R13 & r14 What I also love about it, is it doesn’t end with the Angels & Boz laughing it up back at the office with Charlie over the squawk box. The bittersweet ending at the hospital is perfect.

I just decided I'm gonna explore CA season 4 today and enjoy the beauty and sophistication of Shelley Hack as Tiffany Welles.

A very valid complaint was that there was too much physical similarity between her and Cheryl Ladd. If they had gotten any of others they were looking at, like Barbara Bach, Barbara Carrera, Persis Khambatta or Susie Coelho, there might have been some contrast.

To be fair, Farrah barely talked with anyone. Her last episode was her kidnapped and her final scene ever as Jill was with Bosley.

I completely understand everyone's issues with Season 4 and Shelly but I love her. They should have kept her for season 5 and wrote to her strengths. She was smart and sophisticated why to you have her as a truck driver or a streetwalker. That episode should have had Kelly and Kris as hookers and Tiffany as the music student. The final episode was really a slap at her as Kris and Kelly get to fuck Patrick Duffy and Tiffany gets rubble poured on her.

It was literally a ton of concrete blocks!

They should have had Tiffany die in the last episode, causing Kelly and Kris to realize what a bunch of cunts they‘ve been over Patrick fucking Duffy! Would have been an emotional Season 4 ender and they were getting rid of Shelly anyway! Plus, it would have added shock value, which the show desperately needed at that point (and no, the Margo reveal in Season 5 didn’t count!)

Tiffany lives. Shelley Hack will Star in the series re-boot for ABC.
