Kushner rejected national strategy, believing that the virus was hitting Democratic states hardest, could blame governors,
Some members of Jared Kushner's coronavirus task force believed the pandemic would affect Democratic areas worse and may have adjusted accordingly, Vanity Fair reported.
In March and early April, Kushner gathered a team to devise a nationwide coronavirus testing plan. A public-health expert in regular contact with the team told the magazine that "the political folks" thought a nationwide response was a bad political move.
At the time, outbreaks were worst in Democratic-voting states and cities. The source suggested that some close to Kushner thought it was best to hold back and blame governors.
Kushner's plan was indeed dropped in favor of a mainly state-by-state response. Since then, cases have surged in states on both sides of the political divide.

It's what I said all along, that in the beginning it was hitting black and brown people hardest in Democratic states/cities, so they sat back and said it's killing all the right people so why do anything? Sort of like some whispered during the AIDS era-it's killing off the gays, so who really cares?
Now that Trump supporters and white people in red states are dying from it they are concerned.
This administration is evil, pure evil.

It's not like that was unique. In April, Wisconsin Republicans deliberately blocked Dems' efforts at a primary voting postponement, in order to steer them into coronavirus exposure at the polls.

Hey, this article, at least the synopsis I read in OP's post leaves unanswered questions. Jared's not innocent! He and his father-in-law were profiteering off PPE contractors. Jared, more than any other task force member had to be aware of the "politics." Only a fool would think, since old people and minorities are dying in Blue States let them die. Only a fool would believe that the Blue State governors would "get blamed." Hell. The Blue state governors were the only examples of competent leadership. Viruses have no geographic boundaries. This thing was spreading all over the fucking world. So it wasn't going to spread from Michigan to ohio? Really? This whole thing was politicized from day one. Who the fuck advised them about protesters screaming to re-open" and making masks a sign of you political beliefs. Utter bullshit. Foolish, ignorant, and totally ridiculous. Was it Rudy? Roger Stone? They are in constant contact, "advising" Trump. But Jared would have to co-sign. Mulvaney would have to co-sign. IMO I bet Mulvaney is leaking stuff right now.

Back in March or April when Covid started hitting the Dem states-- NY and CA, there were problems with getting PPE for healthcare workers. Newsom and Cuomo were left to buy millions worth of PPE themselves because they were getting jackshit from the Federal Government, only to have the Feds confiscate them! I heard Newsom had to find a way to make sure the Feds didn't find out. I also remember reading an article where the US Feds stole some valuable PPE from Germany right off the runway airport.
The HMO I work for bought millions of dollars worth of badly needed N95 masks and other PPE and when it arrives, the Feds took it away. WTF? It was like our own government was against us. This shit needs to be investigated. I am glad it's finally being exposed.

Look. At the very least, the Federal government's task is to coordinate response by expediting red tape, supplies, equipment, etc. The States coordinate with local officials to do likewise. That's simple logistics. I cannot believe that today, 8 months into this, we still can't even deal with testing. The healthcare workers do not even have enough swabs! WTF. I read an article sent from a friend in London about how they want to manufacture in-home testing capabilities, similar to a pregnancy test.
