Lesbian Tops & Bottoms

How does it all work? Seems the Butch Dykes are always the pussy munchers. Funny, no one really asks Lesbians about their sex lives like people do gay men.

I think it’s that gay guys proclaim it, whether asked or not.

Women have a DROP more discretion.

by Anonymousreply 1July 30, 2020 8:34 PM

I don't really think people ask because most people don't see what they do as actual sex. Sorry, just saying.

by Anonymousreply 2July 30, 2020 9:15 PM

I guess lesbians are just as kinky as us. I found out today that lesbian cuckold exist.

If women could be tops most of the gays on DL would suddenly go hetero...but women don't have the equipment.

by Anonymousreply 5July 30, 2020 9:51 PM

The one with the larger clit is the top and uses it as a penis

by Anonymousreply 6July 30, 2020 9:57 PM

For tops, I see a lot of tank tees in summer, flannel shirts in winter.

For bottoms, cargo shorts are big or Wranglers. They're not big on the yoga pants.

Hope that helps!

by Anonymousreply 7July 30, 2020 9:59 PM

R2 what [italic]do[/italic] they do anyway? Scissor? Nvm, I don’t want to know *blush*

by Anonymousreply 8July 30, 2020 10:51 PM

Do lesbians really have sex? I have my grave doubts. I think they just nested together. Women like that more than sex. The nesting. I wish we nested more and didn't run around si much led by our dicks.

by Anonymousreply 9July 30, 2020 10:58 PM

OP: Please leave Justin Bieber out of this discussion!

by Anonymousreply 10July 30, 2020 11:33 PM

Honestly, my roommate is a huge LGBTQ ally and some of the lesbians at work are very snooty to her though she has gathered petitions for gay civil union recognition in Romania. She was saying that an old saying is "you need that filler to keep your sanity as a woman".

But jokes aside, I also find sex with no penises involved strange but to each her own I guess.

by Anonymousreply 11July 30, 2020 11:41 PM

YOU find OUR sex strange? You??

by Anonymousreply 12July 31, 2020 12:36 AM

I'm a 63 year old lesbian. I've never heard a lesbian say they were a top or bottom.

by Anonymousreply 15July 31, 2020 12:54 AM

Lol r12. Touché.

by Anonymousreply 16July 31, 2020 12:55 AM

Lesbians don't have sex, dear. They have seances.

by Anonymousreply 17July 31, 2020 1:22 AM

"Funny, no one really asks Lesbians about their sex lives like people do gay men."

And you know this because...???

If I had a nickel for every well-meaning asshole who asked me either, "What do you do in bed?" or "Who is the boy and who is the girl," I'd never have to work again.

Oh, wait -- I'm retired. I already never have to work again!

by Anonymousreply 18July 31, 2020 1:33 AM

That’s because Lesbians don’t do anal.

by Anonymousreply 19July 31, 2020 1:34 AM

R19 I have. Shocker—some lesbians use toys! Top or bottom varies but is similar to how EVERYONE does it—some people just naturally want to be more dominant in bed and vice versa. That applies to people regardless of sexual orientation.

by Anonymousreply 20July 31, 2020 1:42 AM

R20 in the ass? Did you miss the pussy?

by Anonymousreply 21July 31, 2020 2:27 AM

I will never understand the "butch/femme" dynamic in lesbian couples. Basically, one is the woman, the other apes a man in dress and grooming. You never see two gay men marrying where one wears a dress and veil. Butch dykes are always so tacky. "The problem with girls who want to be boys is they rarely act like gentlemen"- Noel Coward

by Anonymousreply 22July 31, 2020 2:27 AM

I heard some Dykes walk around with strap-ons in their jeans.

is that true do they wear them out in public under their big jeans?

by Anonymousreply 23July 31, 2020 2:40 AM
Did you miss the pussy?

Haha! Not that difficult to do in the dark. Especially with doggy since the holes are only a couple of inches apart. A bit like trying to open your front door without a porch light.

by Anonymousreply 24July 31, 2020 2:41 AM

Lesbians are the worst. And I am one. OMG! I’m the worst!

Oh, and top/bottom isn’t a thing. But there is a lot of weeping.

by Anonymousreply 25July 31, 2020 2:42 AM

Lesbians are the most sex crazed of all women.

And they still have next to no sex.

by Anonymousreply 26July 31, 2020 6:22 AM

Yes, yes, yes, YES!

State those boundaries! I’m about to cum!

by Anonymousreply 27July 31, 2020 6:23 AM

>>>Funny, no one really asks Lesbians about their sex lives like people do gay men.

And you would know this how? Also, they most certainly do.

by Anonymousreply 28July 31, 2020 6:25 AM

No, they don’t, R28.

by Anonymousreply 29July 31, 2020 6:28 AM

R14 That's one of those things that's now looked on as barbaric, but where older generations probably had wisdom we're missing out on because we think we're so "evolved."

by Anonymousreply 30July 31, 2020 6:35 AM

R11 I don’t know with that old saying means. Could you please explain?

by Anonymousreply 31July 31, 2020 6:36 AM

by Anonymousreply 35July 31, 2020 6:53 AM

I didn't know the ladies get into various positions to rub their vagines together.

In the film BITWC one lez was butch-looking, the other not, but in bed they were equally aggressive.

I wonder if the DL ladies found that sex scene realistic/ typical.

by Anonymousreply 36July 31, 2020 7:54 AM

I wonder how the "tops" can ever reach orgasm - I mean exclusive lesbian tops. Just can't imagine it.

by Anonymousreply 37July 31, 2020 8:06 AM

Gay men are anatomically equipped to have more pleasurable sex than lesbians

by Anonymousreply 38July 31, 2020 11:50 AM

R37 and R38 know nothing about female anatomy and physiology, and think all gay men are into anal sex.

by Anonymousreply 39July 31, 2020 12:00 PM

Believe it or not, lesbians can have great, mind-blowing, and completely satisfying sex

by Anonymousreply 40July 31, 2020 12:16 PM

Yes, because they're easily satisfied.

by Anonymousreply 41July 31, 2020 12:25 PM

Hey DL Lesbians! Is there usually one person in the relationship who does most of the scissoring and licking?

by Anonymousreply 42July 31, 2020 12:33 PM

"Seems the Butch Dykes are always the pussy munchers."

Seems? Seems where? From porn that you virgins this is real?

by Anonymousreply 43July 31, 2020 1:03 PM

OP, if you're trying to get rid of the lesbians on DL, it's not working. I've learned too much here over the years to ever leave - although, as the saying goes, DL was much better in the '00s.

by Anonymousreply 47July 31, 2020 2:59 PM

The BS stereotypes that gay men believe on here are really mindnumbing. I’m a lesbian and know several lesbian couples without a “butch” partner at all (including my relationship). That said, who cares if there are butch women? There are femme-y gay men too. No need to force people into boxes all the time—who cares either way. Seems like the majority of you aren’t actually friends with lesbians, just judging from afar. By the way, “tops” still want oral sex/touching, for the person who thinks all tops don’t want anything done to them—that’s ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 48July 31, 2020 4:38 PM

R48 exactly. The stone-butch is a mythical creature rarely encountered.

by Anonymousreply 60July 31, 2020 8:51 PM

My first gf had much more experience than I had with lesbian sex. In fact I had none before meeting her. But it was very natural for me to take a dominant role in, shall we say, grinding on her. It felt good to her and that's how I would cum. She told me once that I moved like I had a dick. I also was extremely good at fingering her to orgasm. Her thing was only oral, but she only made me cum two or three times. She tried to rub her pussy on mine while she was on top once, but it was just awkward for her. She was a lipstick lez, and I'm soft butch.

by Anonymousreply 64July 31, 2020 10:48 PM

R31 - it means a penis inside you is like a dose of normal...keeps away the crazy. In fact, Romanains who are less sophisticated than my roommate here say it in a more rough manner, but the truth is a healthy sex life for a healthy young person is an important part of life. Obviously, many societies would deem homosexuality as "unhealthy" due to the fact that they are either less evolved, aware of sexuality, or made homophobic by religious dogma. Still even here in Eastem Europe, most people under 45, regardless of educational level or socioeconomic status, are far more open minded (excepting Ukraine, Moldova and Russia and the ultraconservative religious).

In this city where I am at last year's pride, when most weddings take place, there were a lot of young hetero bride and grooms holding up "Good Luck LGBTQ" signs as the parade made it's way through the park and historic old town and posting to social media in support the effort to legalize gay civil unions and marriage and signing petitions. Lesbians truly get a bigger break than gay men though, as usual.

by Anonymousreply 65July 31, 2020 11:03 PM

R75 lesbians get a bigger break? How so? Are you saying that Eastern Europe is less sexist than the U.S.? Gay women face sexism all the time and occasionally harassment or violence for being gay if it is known in some places.

by Anonymousreply 66August 1, 2020 1:55 AM

Oops, I meant R65

by Anonymousreply 67August 1, 2020 1:56 AM

There is a pillow princess who doesn't give much and the Stone Butch, Aggressives and Studs who don't like to be penetrated or receive oral.

Those are the roles similar to tops/bottoms.

There are some dominate and submissive types. Majority are versatile. There is oral, digital penetration, grinding/tribbing, and strap-on, toys play variety of sex acts that women do to each other.

by Anonymousreply 68August 1, 2020 2:05 AM

Can women climax while scissoring or is that foreplay?

by Anonymousreply 69August 1, 2020 2:50 AM

R28, you are completely wrong.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 70August 1, 2020 3:46 AM

R66 - that is what they say here in the community. That because women are seen as "the fair sex" as it were, they were always somehow looked at as less offensive. Due to years of ignorance and deliberate anti-gay propaganda gay males were often portrayed as pedophiles capable of rape (crazy) in the Communist block, while obviously women could not be believably portrayed as such. However, my roommate has said that her grandmother who was a prima ballerina said all faced discrimination BUT the party leaders were much more likely to ask lesbians to spy and become members than to ask gay men who, in their ignorance, they deemed less "serious". Go figure.

I would love for someone to write a book about gay people and their struggles behind the iron curtain so that part of our history and those people aren't erased as the regimes intended to erase them.

by Anonymousreply 71August 1, 2020 4:54 AM

Albania is probably the beat example of Communist country in which gay men were oppressed but lesbians were not.

by Anonymousreply 72August 1, 2020 5:14 AM

R72 - same in Romania for the most part. And the stories and pictures of the gay artists, performers, medics that my roommate has from her grandmother from Hitler's time as well as from Communist times and their stories are heartbreaking and so many talented and beautiful men who were just obliterated. I marvel at the level of accomplishment that these men achieved and I believe, in such circumstances, they had to work 100 times more than we do today because they understood it was the only possible chance at some quality in a hard and often short life. I like hearing and learning about their struggles and am starting to journal them and hope to be able to write about them as part of our history. The AIDS crisis hit here too, but they were written up as "cancer" and, sadly, blood was taken and given to unsuspecting patients in need of a transfusion. A dentist told me that she was denied single-use needles because, of course, there is no AIDS, though all medics knew about AIDS. All medical equipment was rationed so she had a nervous breakdown because she couldn't bring herself to practice and it ruined a good chunk of her early career that she'd loved.

by Anonymousreply 73August 1, 2020 7:39 AM

Maybe lesbians have sex in the u-haul they hired 5 minutes after meeting?

by Anonymousreply 74August 1, 2020 10:12 AM

R73 I often wonder if lesbians are perceived as less offensive than gay men because 1. They are often invisible if they aren’t more masculine-presenting (in reality, only a minority of lesbians are masculine, most are in the middle or slightly femme so most people don’t know it on the street plus women are assumed to be very physically affectionate with other women, so same-sex relationships are often dismissed as “friendships”), and/or 2. Women are just not as visible or valued in society anyway, so less attention is paid to them generally. In Ancient Rome women’s sexual behaviors were largely ignored because men didn’t think women were fully human so they didn’t matter enough to be commented on when it came to same sex relationships, etc. I’m a lesbian but I have to openly out myself if I want people to know because the vast majority of people wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at me and assume I’m straight. Same for many of my lesbian friends.

by Anonymousreply 75August 1, 2020 6:22 PM

So do you girls cum when you scissor or not?

by Anonymousreply 76August 1, 2020 7:33 PM

R75 - it is probably a combination of both points you raised. Women are definitely more affectionate and demonstrative anyway, so people don't immediately assume they are lesbians. Also, most lesbians (like a lively copywriter I work with that I incidentally met with her girlfriend at Starbucks this morning) aren't butch and can walk arm in arm with no stares. Men can't do that because we aren't supposed to show affection like that since it is not masculine. As far as sexism, it's true that even in Muslim cultures lesbianism is referred to as "harem effect" and ignored as women don't matter. Oddly, here in Eastern Europe women were encouraged to get into STEM so lots of gay women did that and "too busy with my work" was a convenient excuse that made the woman look somehow "smarter" or "more serious" than those who were forever having boyfriend drama made lesbians have an easier time.

by Anonymousreply 77August 1, 2020 9:45 PM

strippers. I'm mystified by this. As a gay man I like naked guys on stage. I know many straight guys who love naked women on stage. Do lesbians? Is it hot, or do you kind of hate the exploitation of it all?

by Anonymousreply 78August 1, 2020 9:47 PM

^^speaking only for myself, I would never object to a private dance from a girlfriend 9 & A HALF WEEKS style or an exhibition pole at an exclusive lesbian club, but the commercialised public nature of ‘lesbian’ stripping shown at all-comers/open-doors hetero clubs puts me off because - as you rightly guess - it’s designed for men by men at the expense of the women doing it.

Of course I get that stripping for the straights (tip of the hat to Wyclef) pays well and we all have mad bills (it’s not an accident that women are paid less...), but it’s difficult to fully enjoy something you know is socially-engineered to keep you and your sistren in your place.

by Anonymousreply 79August 1, 2020 10:29 PM

that does make sense, r79. I went to a strip club with a straight couple (their idea) and my husband (we're gay), and a lesbian couple. We all had a blast EXCEPT the lesbian couple. They hated it, all of it. It wasn't even guys but my husband and I just liked the show, and liked the strippers. The lesbian couple absolutely did not, and kind of I suspect for exactly what you are talking about.

by Anonymousreply 80August 1, 2020 10:59 PM
^^speaking only for myself, I would never object to a private dance from a girlfriend 9 & A HALF WEEKS style or an exhibition pole at an exclusive lesbian club, but the commercialised public nature of ‘lesbian’ stripping shown at all-comers/open-doors hetero clubs puts me off because - as you rightly guess - it’s designed for men by men at the expense of the women doing it.

That seems to suggest you can turn your sexuality on and off.

by Anonymousreply 81August 2, 2020 7:55 AM

R80 that doesn’t surprise me!

Of course we’re not all the same, and I have met a few high-baller soft-butches (think a Queen Latifah type) who get off on watching strippers in straight clubs - maybe for them the fact that the girls are straight/bi and only doing it for money is a dark sort of turn-on? Lesbians come in all different alignments and with different tastes. It’s a safe bet that most garden-variety suburban feminist lesbians naturally object to the practise, though.

By the same token, there are lesbians who do like and seek out mainstream ‘lesbian’ porn (I.e., straight women violently fucking each other because it’s a more forgiving gig than getting gangbanged by men), but again the majority would likely prefer softcore that is performed and directed by actual lesbian women.

Ultimately it comes down to the relationship a woman has with her own homosexuality and with other women, and if the socioeconomics of misogyny bother her or not - for the very rich or privileged ones, the answer is often surprisingly, “no”. I imagine for example that a Sigourney-type doesn’t care how her women come (ahem), so long as they do.

by Anonymousreply 82August 2, 2020 9:13 AM
Ultimately it comes down to the relationship a woman has with her own homosexuality and with other women, and if the socioeconomics of misogyny bother her or not

Wait, are you suggesting lesbians can suspend what they find arousing if they’re bothered by the ‘socioeconomics of misogyny’?

by Anonymousreply 83August 2, 2020 9:17 AM

A lesbian is attracted to a woman! Why would she be attracted to a lesbian who looks like a man? Why not just find a straight man and live an easy straight life?

by Anonymousreply 84August 2, 2020 10:18 AM
A lesbian is attracted to a woman! Why would she be attracted to a lesbian who looks like a man? Why not just find a straight man and live an easy straight life?

Something, something, socioeconomics of misogyny, something.

by Anonymousreply 85August 2, 2020 10:20 AM

Gay men have a harder time than lesbians in American society because a gay man acts against the very tenet of our Patriarchal society — gay men do not sexually objectify and conquer women.

^^ My poly sci professor said that in class one day 30 years ago. She was a former California beauty queen, a feminist philosopher, and looking back I can’t believe I didn’t hit on her.

by Anonymousreply 86August 2, 2020 1:03 PM

Top and Bottom labels are quite irrelevant in lesbian couples, however some of the couples I know, one is more the "conquerer" as R86 puts it.

In the couples I'm thinking of, one seems a bit more aggressive or dominant in many aspects of their lives, not exclusively in the bedroom. It's not necessarily a more "masculine" role, or persona either, as one couple I know the more dominant lady is the more stereotypically feminine of the two. She is quite the romantic, and takes great pride in providing financially for them, and showers her partner with extravagant gifts. She is just all around more of a go getter and natural leader, whilst her partner is laid back, and quite shy.

One lesbian friend was shocked when I told her I didn't dig any back door action myself; she told me she loves anal. She was really trying to sell me on it.

by Anonymousreply 87August 2, 2020 1:46 PM

R84 Silly question you pose. Masculine women are still women, with womanly qualities and attributes, whether you are able to perceive them or not. The strongest most athletic butch lady is still a lady, with lady parts, not a man. Most lesbian friends I have are not intrigued or turned on even remotely by the idea of a penis.

We gay men are often attracted to pretty of femme blokes... that doesn't mean want want a female partner either. It sounds as if you could do with getting out a bit more.

by Anonymousreply 88August 2, 2020 1:59 PM
We gay men are often attracted to pretty of femme blokes...

Are we?

Maybe in Britain you are... but I'm not so sure.

by Anonymousreply 89August 2, 2020 2:01 PM

It isn't silly at all, r88, and is confusing to many. As I've said in here myself before: If I wanna have sex with someone who looks like a man, then I will have sex with a man. I can be attracted to other soft butches because there is something feminine and pretty about them. I am completely turned off by super masculine women who think they have a dick.

by Anonymousreply 90August 2, 2020 3:38 PM

Same for me.

I don't mind an effeminate man, but I don't find an in-costume drag queen sexy.

by Anonymousreply 91August 2, 2020 3:40 PM

R90 Are you a lesbian?

by Anonymousreply 92August 2, 2020 3:44 PM

R90 By your post, you sound like an intolerant bisexual. Funny, that notion. Perhaps try to focus on what YOU like, and try to come off as less judgemental next time.

by Anonymousreply 93August 2, 2020 4:01 PM

Just like there are asshole gay men who like to insult those men who are more effeminate than they are, there are asshole gay women who like to insult gay women who like to insult those women who are masculine than they are. Often, this homophobia comes out in the form of, "If I wanted to fuck someone who looked like a man/woman, then I would fuck a man/woman."

If you don't have anything good to say about someone, then don't say anything at all.

by Anonymousreply 94August 2, 2020 4:13 PM

Celebrate butches honestly, even the ones you may not find attractive. They represent the breadth & depth of female-ness, as well as the fact that the Opressor are not as necessary as they think they are.

by Anonymousreply 95August 2, 2020 4:25 PM

R94 Well said. I don't understand why R90 or others like him or her get "confused" or find it "confusing" what OTHER people enjoy sexually. I'll add it is none of your business to be confused about it, or not.

by Anonymousreply 96August 2, 2020 4:25 PM
Celebrate butches honestly, even the ones you may not find attractive. They represent the breadth & depth of female-ness, as well as the fact that the Opressor are not as necessary as they think they are.

That deserves the lesbian equivalent of a MARY!:

NAN!

by Anonymousreply 97August 2, 2020 4:27 PM

Look, everyone is different. My wife and I have an amazing sex life. No toys unless one of us has a special request otherwise it's 69ing and scissoring. I cum hard from the scissors but she doesn't. It still feels good for her tho and is intense. I must have more clitoral sensitivity. women are so different from men. Women don't cruise a park or rest stop looking for a lover like you whores.

by Anonymousreply 98August 2, 2020 7:11 PM

Lesbian homophobia -- does it ever end?

by Anonymousreply 99August 2, 2020 7:13 PM

We knew another lesbian couple that fell into the top/bottom game. One was 💯 gay and the other was bi and her wife was her first-she had only had het relationships. The gay one would always use a strap on and do the licking too. The bi one said she doesn't know what she's doing anyway so she just laid there- like a dead fish-ewww..I would never settle for that type of relationship but there are all kinds...

by Anonymousreply 100August 2, 2020 7:16 PM

by Anonymousreply 102August 2, 2020 9:06 PM

R101 who are these women who self-identify as lesbians but with no lesbian sex? I find the opposite—Very few women like the lesbian label so I know more gay women who just identify as gay and not as “lesbians” even if they don’t have any interest in men.
