pitiful.....

by Anonymousreply 1July 30, 2020 10:05 AM

The Wonder Years had some of the best writing on TV. I loved that show.

by Anonymousreply 2July 30, 2020 10:05 AM

That’s it, I demand an all-gay all-white all-male reboot of [italic]Good Times[/italic] with the theme song performed a capella by a Gay Men’s Chorus.

by Anonymousreply 3July 30, 2020 10:06 AM

I want a gay male remake of “The Golden Girls” with four old queens living together.

by Anonymousreply 4July 30, 2020 10:36 AM

Sounds more interesting than the original.

by Anonymousreply 5July 30, 2020 10:36 AM

yes, let's keep attempting to solve America's class issue with race optics. Truly, the most unintellectual moment of my lifetime.

by Anonymousreply 6July 30, 2020 10:40 AM

Oh come on. It’s not a Reboot- it’s just a new show about the same time period with the same name. It’s not like they will have the same plots just replaced with black people. It will be different stories. I think it sounds like a great idea.

by Anonymousreply 7July 30, 2020 10:57 AM

Sounds good

by Anonymousreply 8July 30, 2020 11:03 AM

R7 didn’t drink the Kool-Aid. He IS the Kool-Aid.

by Anonymousreply 9July 30, 2020 11:18 AM

When white people do this, it's "cultural appropriation."

by Anonymousreply 10July 30, 2020 11:23 AM

R4 Isn’t that what Queer Eye is with an extra one added in for good measure?

by Anonymousreply 11July 30, 2020 11:55 AM

But Winnie will still be white right?

by Anonymousreply 12July 30, 2020 11:56 AM

Wait, wasn’t “Wonder” on the show connected to Wonder bread? What will this be called, The Dark Rye Years?

by Anonymousreply 13July 30, 2020 11:58 AM

Cool

by Anonymousreply 14July 30, 2020 11:58 AM

A reboot of the Wonder Years is definitely worth getting your panties in a bunch!

by Anonymousreply 15July 30, 2020 11:59 AM

Will the parents even be married in this one?

by Anonymousreply 16July 30, 2020 12:03 PM

This "reawakening" has only just begun. I'd hate to be a White actor in Hollywood right now.

by Anonymousreply 17July 30, 2020 12:12 PM

This is Everybody Hates Chris which was set in the 80s. There's no originality on television anymore.

by Anonymousreply 18July 30, 2020 12:29 PM

I don't necessarily mind this if it's just a new show.

I mean, the Goldbergs is essentially the wonder years in the 1980s.

The basic premise of an adult looking back on his childhood with "wonder" is neither original nor sacrosanct, per se.

Now, if they were actually recasting the original show with a rainbow of diversity, as opposed to merely reusing the concept, that's different and not what the description implies, either.

Josh Saviano turned out to be a very handsome man.

R20= Josh Saviano

by Anonymousreply 21July 30, 2020 1:23 PM

Will Marilyn Manson be in the reboot as well?

by Anonymousreply 22July 30, 2020 1:28 PM

Is Netflix producing it? They just acquired Moesha, The Parkers, Sister, Sister, Half & Half and One on One because of the "high demand of people asking for them." Sure, Jan. I can't tell you how many people I know were wishing Sister, Sister was on Netflix.

by Anonymousreply 23July 30, 2020 1:29 PM

I freaking loved Sister, Sister!

by Anonymousreply 24July 30, 2020 1:39 PM

Pumpernickel, specifically.

by Anonymousreply 25July 30, 2020 1:40 PM

Caitlyn as Dorothy, OBVIOUSLY 🙄

by Anonymousreply 26July 30, 2020 1:46 PM

Finally, all that protesting is getting results.

by Anonymousreply 27July 30, 2020 2:24 PM

Imagine going the other way? Gentrified 227. They had a white tenant the last year of the show. I'm sure he could have bought the building and brought some older hipsters to the building.
