Which character on The Golden Girls was the most well-developed?

Another day, another Golden Girls thread. (What else do I have to do while isolating?)

Curious to hear DL's thoughts.

Btw, I voted Blanche.

I think this is because of the way she was written, but also because Rue had the greatest range of the four.

the ex husband

Blanche. Rue really elevated Blanche.

Rose had a nice rack.

Dorothy's busom sure wasn't very well developed.

Did Bea request exclusive sitting down rights in the OP's pic?

She must've tired from standing tall over all those shrimps for years & years.

The way it's cropped makes it looks like the little homemaker Blanche is sitting on Dorothy the garbage collector's lap LOL !

Dorothy was the only one who wasn't a two-dimensional stereotype.

by Anonymousreply 9July 29, 2020 5:25 PM

Certainly not Rose or Madge.

Let's face it, they were limited.

by Anonymousreply 10July 30, 2020 1:48 PM

They were all pretty terrible characters.

by Anonymousreply 11July 30, 2020 2:13 PM

R9 Dorothy was the stereotypical tall homely girl bookworm

that had trouble getting dates after her husband dumped her for a younger hotter model &

she got stuck taking care of her mom after the other two more successful siblings had more fulfilled lives.

She was the grand poobah of stereotypes.

I was the most well-developed

& it happened rather early.

Rose had the most developed "jiggle and bounce," if you know what I mean.
