She comes roaring in at 00:40, “Well knock knock knockin on heaven’s door YEAH!!”
Do you agree that Stevie Nicks was fucking amazing singing “Knockin on Heavens Door” with Dylan and Petty in 1986?

She's drunk

“Well I don’t hear THAT, I don’t hear it anymore!!”

Booze AND dope!

Good lord, What a trainwreck that whole song was.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 28, 2020 10:05 AM |
You're joking, OP, right? She's so over-the-top braying in this. Braying!
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 28, 2020 2:51 PM |
Joke, yes? She and her tambourine were awful. R6 is correct: Braying!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 28, 2020 2:54 PM |
OP's comment may be related to the unfortunate fact that since all those singing shows for amateurs started up on TV in the last 10 years or so, singing loud = singing well. It's filtered over into the pop-rock scene in general. You hardly ever hear dynamics any more, at least not by a very popular singer.

I can hardly stand to look at her or listen to her after the disgraceful business regarding the firing of Lindsey. She and Mick Fleetwood should be ashamed of themselves - and I say this as a longtime fan. Odds are that with Covid and the advanced age of the surviving Fleetwood Mac members the'll never take the stage again in any configuration - that's what I'm hoping for, anyway.

R9- I am with you. I have not been able to look at her the same way since. Her ego really now has outgrown her talent. Its a shameful end to a good band. (And I always found Fleetwood Mac mildly OVERRATED) But Lindsey was treated like garbage. I am just as disgusted with Christine (Hang it up lady, your voice is worse than Stevie's, and those KEYBOARDS)

All she does now is bray like a donkey and kick random cunt bones.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 28, 2020 3:44 PM |
she was being spontaneous and excited, something we don’t see anymore. She was obviously having a great time and very passionate. Maybe she had too much booze, and maybe she wasn’t singing ‘correctly’ but i’d rather sit through an evening of this than some auto tuned pop princess. This was her Joplinesque period.

"It was like taking your mom's diet pill" - she really didn't think to consider that cocaine is an illegal drug tied to cartels and all of the carnage that implies? She hadn't heard it was addictive? She hadn't heard it can cause premature heart attacks? She's such a dope.

Sounds like a banshee squeezing out a log through cocaine abscessed bowels.

God, I miss Tom Petty.

R16 I miss Tom Petty, too.
Poor Stevie Nicks is out of it in that awful clip. I think this was near the time they put her away for two years to detox from Klonopin. Tom Petty was frightened of her at one point, around the time they recorded Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.

R9 no one cares

Stevie was still on cocaine when this performance took place. It was in this time that a doctor told her she could die if she continued.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 29, 2020 12:42 AM |
Frightened of her, or for her, r17?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 29, 2020 11:02 PM |
Yeah, 1986 was right before she entered the Betty Ford Clinic. Not her finest moment.

Stevie was lucky that the social media era didn't yet exist.

Perhaps there can be a "Stevie Nicks Retirement Fund" - the concept being that millions will donate just $1 each if she'll agree to stay off the stage and stop braying. Alternate title: Mercy For Our Ears.

^^No. If I had, I would have linked it to my YouTube account, not someone else's.
