One of two popular rumors during WWII, the other being that Hitler had only one testicle, the other being missing due to either genetic defect or injury during either WWI or the Beer Hall Putsch.

I've always thought that Hitler and Nixon were similar in that their confused sexuality resulted in deep rage. They both had similar relationships with women. They worshipped their mothers and treated the women in their lives more like pets than objects of love/lust. Hitler's relationship with Unity Mitford and Eva Braun was paternal rather than carnal. Similarly, Nixon and Pat's relationship was fraternal. I doubt either of them acted on their homosexual desires. Rather, they were probably repulsed by them and built complex internal constructs to prevent those feelings from surfacing.

Hitler early on identified with his tyrannical father, and later transferred this trauma onto Germany; his contemporaries followed him willingly because they had experienced a childhood that was very similar.

The 'father-figure' leaders they fought for in World War One failed them, and the humiliation led to resentment. I was just saying that people rarely do bother with sources on DL, in history threads or otherwise. That's why it's welcomed, and the poster in question is always meticulous. Hence the gratitude. I'm not talking about posting simple links to news websites. There are hundreds of anecdotes and would-be facts being thrown around on the "Christopher Street" thread, including on inflammatory topics such as AIDS. Do you think all those posters are dutifully citing their sources?
