A good one but still. Very similar. Clint even thinks so. Discuss.
Fatal Attraction was a ripoff of Play Misty for Me

Not even fucking close. Obsessed woman. That's the similarity. Done. Thread closed.

Nah r1. She pulls a knife and screams just like Glenn, She comes after the girlfriend just like Glenn does for the wife. She slits her wrists just like Glenn. They battle at the end just lie with Glenn. Many similarities.

Play Misty for Me was the movie my parents saw in the theater on their first (blind) date. Their song was always “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” because of it.

In Play Misty for Me the lead character was female and not trans like in Fatal Attraction.

Play Misty For Me is so much better than Fatal Attraction, it's not even funny.
Some real scares & gore, and Jessica Walter's performance blows Glenn out of the water.

These movies aren’t similar at all. What a stupid fucking thread.

Play Misty For Me is a hundred times a better film. It's actually supremely well done. And uncomfortably dark. FA was made for entertainment. They made that choice even before the switched the ending.

I thought "Fatal Attraction" was much better: super slick and entertaining. "Misty" reminded me of an OK made-for-TV movie of the week.

r6 sounds bitter in most of their posts.
Of course the movies are similar. A one night stand begins stalking the man she had the affair with and becomes obsessed with him, tries to kill his partner etc.
Wake up r6.

My blood didn’t boil watching ‘Play Misty For Me’.

She attacked the maid in Misty rather than the rabbit.

And "A Fistful of Dollars" is a ripoff of "Yojimbo." And "Yojimbo" is a rip-off of "Red Harvest" by Dashiell Hammett.
So?

Not an Eastwood fan at all but Jessica Walter is fantastic in Play Misty for Me.
