Blow Buddies Shuts Its Doors For Good Due To Pandemic
writing on its website
Sadly, Blow Buddies will not be reopening after the pandemic. We tried many ways to figure out a path to return and were unsuccessful. We appreciate the willingness of the LEATHER & LGBTQ cultural district and our landlord to explore options with us. It was a good run...August 8, 1988 to March 15, 2020. We are sad to see this chapter close. We thank our many members for their support over all those years. The club was created in response to one virus and done in by another.
Blow Buddies' monthly rent was $13,200, which the previous property owner believed was "below market rate." Prior to the pandemic, its lease was set to end in April 2021.

The place always smelled bad. Like gallons of old, moldy jizz. Also, it was very humid in there. Like a TB factory. But always jammed with customers.

Duh, you keep your memories in the corners of your mind so that your regular thoughts have room to move around.

I lived across the street from BB on Harrison in the early aughts (in the same lofts that David Bromstadt lived when he was shooting his show in SF, but I was long gone by the time he moved in). IIRC, Thursday nights were wet night, and the men would squish-squish by starting before dusk through about midnight. It was always entertaining. In the 2 years I lived there, I never got around to heading over for a night. And sadly, now I never will. ;(
