What's the deets on Reeve Carney?
He played the beautiful Dorian Gray in Penny Dreadful, and quite convincingly. So much so, I thought he was gay in real life. I saw him in Hades Town before Covid-19 fucked everything, and he was wonderful, the play was spectacular. However, I recently discovered that he's in a romance with his HT co-star, Eva Noblezada.
This makes me scratch my head.
Any gossip on him? Maybe he's bi?

He was with Disney or Nickelodeon actress Victoria Justice for years. I
I never watched Penny Dreadful but remembered him from the accident laden Spider-Man musical.

I met him during his Spiderman run on Broadway. Actually ran into him outside the theater. He was friendly and we spoke for a few minutes (about working on his voice for the show). No gay vibe. Good looking in a guy next door way. Class act as far as I could tell.

For some reason I thought he was British and simply doing a great American accent!
"Reeve Carney was born and raised in the West Village area of Manhattan with his brother Zane and sister Paris. He grew up in a family of musicians and actors: his father, John, was a songwriter for commercials, his mother, Marti, was a singer, actress and a jewelry designer and his great uncle was Academy Award-winning actor Art Carney."

Love him. He was great with Josh Hartnett and Eva Green in PD. The only thing is he couldn't really play "menacing" as Dorian Gray (not even as he was killing Angélique), as he's so gentle-looking. But I would love to see him in more productions.

OP: some of the old DL Penny Dreadful threads from several years ago are still available. Some good discussions there, including on Carney/Dorian Gray, if you were a fan of the show.
