Dune Oscar for Timmy?
|by Anonymous||reply 86||10 hours ago|
LOL! This movie will bomb, and people are already sick of Ratatouille.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||07/19/2020|
dune wont be released this year. going electric is a better bet for him but even then it will probably just be another nom. he'll have to wait until he's 45 like all the other men.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||07/19/2020|
I don't think he will be nominated again, CMBYN was his only. They could have nominated him for Beautiful Boy but didn't
|by Anonymous||reply 3||07/19/2020|
beautiful boy was a dud and he was fighting for a lone nom at a young age only a year after being nominated before. no reason he wouldn't be nominated again unless his career falters completely.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||07/19/2020|
He was good as Henry V but not amazing. He doesn't have much range.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||07/19/2020|
I don't think he will be nominated again, CMBYN was his only. They could have nominated him for Beautiful Boy but didn't
I don't think so, his acting in CMBYN was truly amazing and the nomination was totally deserved. In Beautiful Boy it was not bad, but maybe it was not even so special. How the fact that he wasn't nominated for that role means he will never be nominated again? He's only 24, and his career has just started. He has just started working with more prestigious directors and casts
No one was expecting him to be nominated for The King, ARDINY or Little Women, as someone else said the kind of role we could expect him to get a nomination for are Dune or Going Electric. We'll see if he gets any. Anyway, what young actor gets an Oscar nomination for every role?
|by Anonymous||reply 6||07/20/2020|
I love these comments early on touting nominees when we are only 1/2 through the year. Personally, I think they should just postpone the whole thing.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||07/20/2020|
He’s a piss poor actor. Call Me By Your Name was a one hit wonder.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||07/20/2020|
It made me so happy when he missed for Beautiful Boy.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||07/20/2020|
Will Armie take him to the Oscars now that he's free to be with Timmy? I want to see them holding hands on the red carpet.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||07/20/2020|
Will Armie take him to the Oscars now that he's free to be with Timmy?
Btw why would it be Armie who takes Timmy to the Oscars and not the other way around? Timmy is the influential one, Armie is a nonentity as an actor
|by Anonymous||reply 11||07/20/2020|
Stupid little twat.
It should have been ME going to the Oscars!
|by Anonymous||reply 12||07/20/2020|
r10 Only if Armie goes full-on leather daddy.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||07/20/2020|
I roll my eyes at "Timmy Oscar talk."
|by Anonymous||reply 14||07/20/2020|
r12 I picture Armie clutching his caftan while he says that.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||07/20/2020|
OP, that is from the results on an online poll. Chalamet fangurls think Chalamet deserves an oscar nomination, news at 11.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||07/20/2020|
R12 Always working at stealing the attention from Timmy. Timmy had fucked up big time with the Cabo thing and he needed to mess up even bigger LOL
|by Anonymous||reply 17||07/20/2020|
God I hope not. the next 12 months will be bad enough without Villeneuve fanboys and Chaladykes feeling vindicated.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||07/20/2020|
r17 I think Armie's divorce managed to overshadow Timmy's Cabo cringe. Armie must be thrilled.
|by Anonymous||reply 19||07/20/2020|
He’s a horrible actor who continues to get role after role.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||07/20/2020|
R20 so you keep saying. it's almost like most people disagree with you and that's why he gets role after role
|by Anonymous||reply 21||07/20/2020|
Yet here you are R14, in a thread about Timmy and possible Oscar nominations!
|by Anonymous||reply 22||07/20/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 23||07/20/2020|
They should have Chalagay's name permanently printed on the Oscar ballots. Even if he's not in a current film. That would keep chaladykes and fangirls happy. And, they should use his body shape in a redesigned Oscar statue. They could even rename it the Oscarmet. To top it all off, no one would be allowed to make an acceptance speech without mentioning him in some way.
At the end of any future ceremonies, a stan (picked out of a lottery) would come on stage to tell the tale of how the end crying scene in CMBYN changed their lives. HW: all Timmy, all the time.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||07/20/2020|
they should use his body shape in a redesigned Oscar statue
|by Anonymous||reply 25||07/20/2020|
R24 I think they only do that for the old hag from New Jersey
|by Anonymous||reply 26||07/20/2020|
R19 exactly LOL
Timmy must feel relieved that the pool thing was still less cringy than the kitten DMs.
BTW where is Timmy? Is he still eating Abel’s canned food? Is he feeling better now that things about him seem to have calmed down? He should come back now and post something! Let us know that he is alive and doing well!
|by Anonymous||reply 27||07/20/2020|
I doubt Timmy is even thinking about fans R27 especially after the way so many attacked him. Like, why? What does he have to say to you lot?
|by Anonymous||reply 28||07/20/2020|
R27 he's in NYC spending time with his family and prepping for Going Electric. Looking very sexy with his huge monster cock hanging out of his sweatpants.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||07/28/2020|
already sick of Ratatouille.
I just spit coffee. I'm sure this nickname has been around, but it's the first I'm seeing it.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||07/28/2020|
Oh, so little Rat Face is up for an award...
|by Anonymous||reply 31||07/28/2020|
He is a terrible actor and he’s famous because of a vile piece of Nazi pedophile propaganda.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||07/28/2020|
The kid has a huge dong that I would love to swallow. Give him all the awards.
|by Anonymous||reply 33||07/28/2020|
R31 is he? Where?
|by Anonymous||reply 34||07/28/2020|
This movie will bomb hard in theaters even without the pandemic no one asked for another sun film, like blade runner 2 did.
|by Anonymous||reply 35||07/28/2020|
R35: Going Electric will bomb too. Nobody asked for another Bob Dylan film.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||07/28/2020|
Dune is too complicated for the American public-it will bomb.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||07/28/2020|
This is the third time they have tried to film this book. Why?
|by Anonymous||reply 38||07/28/2020|
Timmy shall receive an Oscar in his bunghole.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||07/28/2020|
I thought he was terrible in Little Women. Overrated.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||07/28/2020|
R29 he doesn’t want to be spotted, he’s wearing a black hoodie in July
Or he’s just very cold? He was wearing long sleeves also in the pics with the fans, it was allegedly 1 p.m.
|by Anonymous||reply 41||Last Wednesday at 7:16 AM|
R41, unpopular opinion: Timmy has an eating disorder, one of the behavioural signs is dressing in layers either to hide his extreme weight loss or to stay warm due to the heat loss.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||Last Wednesday at 9:29 AM|
And he got it from/with Elizabeth Chambers when he was living in L.A. at her place...
She was shedding Baby Ford pregnancy weight and he was getting ready for Beautiful Boy in February-March 2017.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||Last Wednesday at 1:20 PM|
R43, I don't think eating disorders are contagious but it is more likely that the person they have in common, Armie somehow seems to push the people around him into unhealthy lifestyles. Or maybe Armie is attracted (I mean this loosely, I'm not suggesting he is sexually attracted to T.) to 'damaged' people he is trying to fix?
|by Anonymous||reply 44||Last Wednesday at 2:17 PM|
Yes, he is very skinny but I don’t think he has an eating disorder. He hasn’t lost weight suddenly, looks like he has always been like this, so it’s probably just his build.
Armie somehow seems to push the people around him into unhealthy lifestyles
Armie is not around Timmy, but this is probably true for the ex-wife who has managed his bullshit for 10 years.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||Last Wednesday at 3:15 PM|
R41 he isn't socially distancing! With his emaciated frame I wouldnt like his chances if he contracted Covid.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||Last Saturday at 12:33 AM|
|by Anonymous||reply 47||Last Saturday at 12:45 AM|
word of mouth not good.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

|by Anonymous||reply 49||Last Saturday at 1:28 AM|

|by Anonymous||reply 50||Last Saturday at 3:07 AM|
Isn't Covid-19 mainly lethal to overweight and old people?
|by Anonymous||reply 51||Last Saturday at 7:09 AM|
r43 Eating disorders aren't contagious. You don't "get it" from another person.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||Last Saturday at 7:17 AM|
R52, I caught gayness from Timmy.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||Last Saturday at 7:31 AM|
You don't really "get it" but... you can emulate a person you admire.
Like becoming a drug addict because of someone close to you who will enable you to do it.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||Last Saturday at 7:36 AM|
|by Anonymous||reply 55||Last Saturday at 8:13 AM|
you can emulate a person you admire.
I doubt he admires Elizabeth LOL
Btw he has always been skinny, now he is even less skinny than he was in his teenage years
|by Anonymous||reply 56||Last Saturday at 2:53 PM|
He looks so hot even with a mask on
|by Anonymous||reply 57||Last Saturday at 3:22 PM|
If Dune bombs (and I think it’s highly likely that it will), will TimoTay be blamed as the leading man?
|by Anonymous||reply 58||Last Saturday at 6:01 PM|
It won't bomb R58, you just hate this guy so much because he's not in, nor has he ever had a relationship with that Armie loser.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||Last Saturday at 11:22 PM|
R59: It will bomb. The story has been adapted three times to no avail and people are sick and tired of Ratboy.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||Last Sunday at 6:37 AM|
In previews viewers are running from the theatre in hysterical fear.
|by Anonymous||reply 61||Yesterday at 12:39 AM|
Ffs. He is a kid, he has a thin frame. Not every skinny person has an eating disorder. He has years to grow into his looks, and I believe in his 30’s he will be very handsome. Bore off you mean old queens
|by Anonymous||reply 62||Yesterday at 12:46 AM|
R62 He is good at what he does, he seems a really nice guy and has a pretty face. They judge his body and love to mock him for being skinny because they have nothing else to vent their hate on.
Interesting Villeneuve interview on Dune (also speaks about casting Timmy at 17.12). Comments are mostly good and are about Villeneuve, almost no one mentions Timothée, they have expectations of the director, if it bombs I doubt Timmy will be blamed as R58 wishes so hard
|by Anonymous||reply 63||Yesterday at 3:21 AM|
This will bomb hard. Do they really think that movie theaters will be packed in December? Plus he can’t act and be a leading man as evidenced in The King.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||Yesterday at 5:24 AM|
I figure Dune is the only planet on which he will ever win an Oscar.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||Yesterday at 5:26 AM|
You mean especially with a mask ON?
|by Anonymous||reply 66||Yesterday at 5:31 AM|
Worm shit is SPICE.
And it bends the universe, which is very useful for travelling.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||Yesterday at 5:35 AM|
Worm shit is SPICE.
So what's an Oscar?
|by Anonymous||reply 68||Yesterday at 5:37 AM|
If there's a movie that has all the numbers to bomb that's Dune.
Anyway it's simply too soon to know who will be nominated.
And Chalamet should try not to look that eager to win. He is young and the academy has a tendency to give the oscar to veterans (which by the way it's not the best way to attract viewers to the ceremony).
And sci fi is not exactly the best genre to get nominations anyway
|by Anonymous||reply 69||Yesterday at 5:42 AM|
It's what you've been robbed of by Gary Oldman, Sweetie.
And worm spice is not really shit, it's not a blunt, you can't smoke it.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||Yesterday at 5:52 AM|
R69 how does he look eager to win the Oscar? Fans/people who praise his acting think/say he should win one, but I’ve never heard HIM say anything that would make him look very eager to win an Oscar.
On the contrary he always looks humble and just eager to learn by taking very different roles, and that’s something I really like about him. So, explain otherwise don’t put words of others in his mouth
the academy has a tendency to give the oscar to veterans (which by the way it's not the best way to attract viewers to the ceremony).
I agree with you on this, and probably he knows it better than us
|by Anonymous||reply 71||Yesterday at 6:38 AM|
wheres this 'buzz' coming from. has anyone saw the film already?
|by Anonymous||reply 72||Yesterday at 6:40 AM|
has anyone saw the film already?
I'd like to know if anyone has [bold]seen[/bold] it, too, dear.
|by Anonymous||reply 73||Yesterday at 6:48 AM|
R72 from gold derby
|by Anonymous||reply 74||Yesterday at 8:55 AM|
R71 Well, it seem Woody Allen thinks that.
Some of the new actors (the ones with good critics) seems more eager to play the hollywood game than others, and he is totally on board
|by Anonymous||reply 75||Yesterday at 9:10 AM|
Oh and the buzz doesn't mean a thing till the movie is on theatres, Billy Lynn's long halftime walk (such good novel, such dissapointing film) and The goldfinch were supposed to be contenders and we know what happened (of course The Goldfinch train derailed a little earlier than usual, but every year there's a highly awaited film that gets the cold shoulder).
And a lot of fans of the novel are not too impressed by some of Villeneuve changes, so i won't be surprised if there's some backlash
|by Anonymous||reply 76||Yesterday at 9:13 AM|
You haven't been paying attention R76, the long time fans of Dune are very excited about the new film and Dune will not bomb, it has a worldwide universal appeal. There's only been one film of note for Dune, and that was Lynch's 1984 version. The others were tv shows. There is an interest for Dune and it will do well... as well as the pandemic will allow blockbusters coming out this year to do. It will also recoup costs in blu-ray sales.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||Yesterday at 10:48 AM|
E77 Dune never had universal appeal (and i'm talking about the novel which by the way didn't age that well) and it's a novel very difficult to adapt.
And i said it that not everyone who was fan of the book is thrilled because i read an article (and the journalist was very very fan of the novel) trashing some of Villeneuve decisions.
And yes, there's interest about the film, but there was interest about the new Blade runner movie, even had good reviews and it flopped anyway.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||Yesterday at 10:59 AM|
Well, it seem Woody Allen thinks that.
R75 Woody Allen is obviously a bitter and disappointed director who could not even get his movie released in the US, what it seems he thinks of Timmy, is not a proof of what Timmy is/says. The "he swore to my sister he needed to do that as he was up for an Oscar" thing has always sounded weird. Whatever his reasons were, why on earth would Timmy apologize and explain them not even to him, but to his sister? She was the producer, but she produces only WA's movies, and once he was already burning bridges with her brother, justifying to her makes absolutely no sense.
Timmy was the male lead, he knew they would have gone after him (he was already being questioned about that during CMBYN promo and the movie was not even out). Other actors publicly distanced themselves from WA too. Of course they all did it for the sake of their public image
BTW he was 22 and got a fucking Oscar nomination, for what we knew at that time, he could even have won. Who wouldn't have been wishful? Totally normal. But I thought your comment implied that he looks very eager to win an Oscar now/has looked very eager after CMBYN, didn't you mean that? In case, again, what does he say/do to look particularly eager to win an Oscar?
|by Anonymous||reply 79||Yesterday at 4:13 PM|
He is bitter becuase Chalamet sold him out just to look woke.
He was nominated at 22, Hedges was nominated even younger, that doesn't mean he is going to win anytime soon or ever.
Leonardo got his frist nomination very young and he spend years pandering the academy to win that fucking Oscar (it was frankly pathetic).
He is too young for academy tastes, they like their actress young but their actors to be veterans, and probably it's not his fault but he comes as akward in interviews.
He should try to build a career and forget about Oscars for a while
|by Anonymous||reply 80||14 hours ago|
R78, you obviously have NOT read Dune, and you certainly don't like Timmy, so, you fully expect or need it to fail.
You've shown your cards. To each their own.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||13 hours ago|
R80, Hedges got nominated for a Supporting Oscar, not the real one for Best Actor, which Timmy got at the tender age of 22. And I agree, the industry and the Academy are not ready to give young male talent the Oscar, a deliberate gesture which does give validity to suspicions that the nomination and "winners" process is not as diplomatic as they claim. They sure didn't want this kid to get back to back Oscar nominations, at 23 for Beautiful Boy, and hence the outrageous snub. He wasn't going to win, but they did him wrong in not nominating him when he got nominated in all the precursors.
He could win just before 30, but the right role at the right time and it has to be a perfect performance. Otherwise, he'll be well into his 30s because Hollywood loves girls young, and their male winners older.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||13 hours ago|
He should try to build a career
I think it's exactly what he's been doing after CMBYN, trying different roles, experimenting in very different kind of movies, getting to work with directors/casts that he looks up to. He has played a drug addict, played the lead in a romantic comedy, in an historical drama, tried the British accent, starred in a period piece, we are going to see him in a sci-fi and in a Wes Anderson movie and then probably in a biopic. Isn't he trying to grow as an actor?
and forget about Oscars for a while
Again, what does he say/do to make himself look like he's so eagerly running after the Oscar? Would you say that with his recent roles in The King or in LW he was expecting to win an Oscar?
He is too young for academy tastes, they like their actress young but their actors to be veterans, and probably it's not his fault but he comes as akward in interviews.
Granted he might certainly never win one, but is "he comes as akward in interviews" a possible reason to you? Wow. Since you are so well-prepared about Oscar history, were all those who have won for Best Actor/Supporting Actor great orators?
|by Anonymous||reply 83||13 hours ago|
Hedges got nominated for a Supporting Oscar, not the real one for Best Actor, which Timmy got at the tender age of 22.
Di Caprio is the 7th youngest nominee in history for best SUPPORTING actor and Hedges the 8th
Timmy the 3rd youngest nominee in history for Best actor in a LEADING ROLE
R80 I doubt the comparisons you make are in favour of those you mention
|by Anonymous||reply 84||12 hours ago|
R81 I read Dune long time ago, and it's a great novel but not an easy one to adapt.
No, i don't need the movie to fail but yes, i expect it to fail like Blade runner failed.
And i have nothing against Timmy, but i don't think he is the new messiah like some of his fanboys think here.
He is a good actor, but he is not going to win an oscar anytime soon because he is not the type of actor they like the give the award. If he has a solid career, he'll have his oscar when he is near his forties (if he is lucky)
R84 Who cares, Di Caprio needed to be a star for years and years and years and choose carefully obvious Oscar bait roles to get the award. He was an interesting actor when he was young, now, not so much.
And Timmy and Lucas will get their award if they play well their cards and have solid careers, but they are not going to win anytime soon. The list of winner is pretty clear in recent years, a nomination is the best thing that a young actor can get.
And anyway, discussing who is going to win an oscar in August is simply ridiculous
|by Anonymous||reply 85||10 hours ago|
He’s never going to win an Oscar. He’s pretty wooden on screen. The Beautiful Boy snub showed that the Academy was sick and tired of the media hype. A much deserved snub indeed.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||10 hours ago|
