Are There Any Glamorous Celebrities Left?
I saw the Supremes on "What's My Line," and Diane and company just reek glamour. As do Arlene and company.
But after the mid 60s it seemed to give way to unwashed hippies and unkempt males. Now we have people too lazy to shave and wearing underwear on the outside or exposed.

Blame Madonna. Even my aunt, who is by no means a conservative, said "she maid it normal for women to look like trash."
|by Anonymous||reply 1||07/18/2020|
George Clooney? You usually only see him well dressed.
|by Anonymous||reply 2||07/18/2020|
Glamour died with Boxcar Willie
|by Anonymous||reply 4||07/18/2020|
The Kardashians killed it. That and all those trashy early 1990s celebrity infomercials.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||07/18/2020|
Brad and Angie had some people fooled. There are some glamorous celebs - just not the most famous ones.
Of the famous ones, I think Julia Roberts and Halle Berry are both glamorous. In a modern way.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||07/18/2020|
Tom and Nicole had their moments.
|by Anonymous||reply 7||07/18/2020|
There are a lot of glamorous celebs if you read or watch something other than BRAVO or TLC or National Enquirer, OP.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||07/18/2020|
Sharon Stone has glamor. She's not talented or funny, but she has real glamor.
Charlize and Cate Blanchett can appear glamorous, but that's not the same thing. They are very common women who wear clothes well.
|by Anonymous||reply 9||07/18/2020|
I find Lupita N'yongo glamorous and worldly.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||07/18/2020|

|by Anonymous||reply 11||07/18/2020|
Glamour was over before Madonna R1
|by Anonymous||reply 12||07/18/2020|
Henry Cavill has glamour. That face is quite something. Most glamorous in the somewhat enjoyable Man From U.N.C.L.E. But that face, wow.
|by Anonymous||reply 13||07/19/2020|
How dare no one mention Dame Joan Collins
|by Anonymous||reply 15||07/19/2020|
My vote for Gemma Arterton.
|by Anonymous||reply 17||07/19/2020|
I think Tilda Swinton is glamorous. She dresses for occasions and has some mystique.

Ivanka tries to be glamorous.

Nobody whose shit ends up peddled at TJ Maxx for half-off is 'glamorous.'
|by Anonymous||reply 20||07/19/2020|
Problem is also related to trendy fashion today, it’s mostly trashy and derivative. Glamour means being well dressed but with extra pizazz. Not many celebs go for that look today
|by Anonymous||reply 21||07/19/2020|
R20 Good point! As I wrote, Ivanka "tries" to be glamorous.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||07/19/2020|
For men, David Corenswet has the ability to look glamorous, but I don't follow him to see what he looks like/dress like in real life.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||07/19/2020|
Coco Chanel said that 'fashion starts from the street and moves up.' How true.
People who should know better follow foolish trends because they want to look trendy and cool.

R6 Oh, yes. Julia is just so glam.
|by Anonymous||reply 25||07/19/2020|
R26 Not all Europeans looks like they have terrible BO, like Julia sometimes does.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||07/19/2020|
Clooney's the only one that comes to my mind. They have paid styists now that pick out their clothes. They look totally uncomfortable in them. They don't fit properly.
|by Anonymous||reply 28||07/19/2020|
Agree with Lupita and Tulsa and would add Rachel Weisz, Lenny Kravitz, and Rihanna. Jessica Chastain has potential but she’s kind of fizzled.
Part of it is taking care never to look or speak like an ordinary schmo (no pics of you taking out the trash in a parka, no jokey comments at award shows). Kate Moss succeeded for a while.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||07/19/2020|
Tilda is a good example. She's not particularly attractive but she oozes style.

Taylor Swift never leaves the house without being turned-out.
|by Anonymous||reply 36||07/19/2020|
Dita von Teese is disqualified because she basically dresses in vintage. Dressing in vintage does not mean having glamour. If you’re glamorous you can dress in current style of clothing.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||07/19/2020|
R37 whatever. She could wear a sack and look far more glamorous than you’ll ever be.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||07/19/2020|
We heard you, Dita. Now go back to doing whatever it is you actually do.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||07/19/2020|

Old school glamour in style and attitude but done in a modern way is Grace Jones. George Clooney is the only male who qualifies. Sharon Stone too.

R49 = Jason Bateman bitter that he lost the acting Emmy while his co-stars won them.
|by Anonymous||reply 51||07/19/2020|
Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton & Rooney Mara.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||07/19/2020|
There was a certain type of glamour back in the day that was very upscale, classy and regal among over fifty women. You saw it on the Golden Girls when they would attend fancy gatherings. The Meadows sisters, Lucy, Eva Marie Saint, Olivia De Havilland, Joan Crawford also had it. Fancy gowns, coats, hair coiffed, adorned in pretty jewelry. You can practically smell the perfume. When plastic surgery started going through the roof, this type of glamour stopped. And it's a shame.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||07/19/2020|
Margot Robbie is getting there. Most promising.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||07/19/2020|
I think glamour is as much about carriage and a certain level of mystique as it is about fashion. An intriguing background doesn't hurt. Re: Lupita -- Oscar winner, she speaks four languages, born to a Kenyan father in Mexico City. She's selective about her work and photographs/carries herself well no matter what she wears.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||07/19/2020|

Amber Heard can be glamorous. She has her own style, even when casual.
|by Anonymous||reply 65||07/19/2020|
Angelina Jolie, Inglorious Basterds, Cannes.
|by Anonymous||reply 66||07/19/2020|
Angelina Jolie somehow looked glamorous in a brown dress on the red carpet.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||07/19/2020|
I think Lena Headey is both glamorous and gorgeous.

Clooney looks good in a suit but once he opens his mouth and the juvenile frat boy persona emerges all illusion of glamour and sophistication is shattered.
|by Anonymous||reply 79||07/20/2020|
Catherine Zeta Jones has much of the old school glamour of 1940s Hollywood. It's impressive how reminiscent she is of that era considering she's only 34.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||07/20/2020|
Clooney looks good in a suit but once he opens his mouth and the juvenile frat boy persona emerges all illusion of glamour and sophistication is shattered.
His acting skills haven't improved since [italic]the Facts of Life[/italic]. His "talent" was all in his hair, then and now. [italic]Tomorrowland[/italic] is unwatchable largely because of his dour, joyless performance in a movie about The Happiest Place on Earth™.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||07/20/2020|
Zeta Jones, Charlize and Blanchett have the most glamor, until they open their mouth. Glamor is more than just wearing clothes well and having Hollywood hair.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||07/20/2020|
^That is exactly why Amber Heard, Angelina Jolie - among others - are not a glamourous actresses. Totally lacking any kind of grace outside of a red carpet appearance.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||07/20/2020|
Whatever, R83. I'll agree with you about Amber Heard. But Angelina Jolie is about as glamorous as they come. Even Joan Rivers called Angelina "otherworldly glamourous" and a "true movie star."
It doesn't get any better than Jolie.

|by Anonymous||reply 87||07/20/2020|
not someone who'd immediately come to mind, but Julianne Moore impresses me, she exudes a seemingly laid back sort of glamour, likeable and ladylike.
|by Anonymous||reply 88||07/20/2020|
oh never mind, R32 got there first - great minds!
|by Anonymous||reply 89||07/20/2020|
Joan Rivers always looked glamorous—or in the least she tried consciously very much so, despite having the walking stride of a storm trooper.
|by Anonymous||reply 90||07/20/2020|
Yup, r84 and r85. Breathtaking Jolie glamour seeping out of her every pore.
I know. Marty! ( my variation of Mary!)
I've seen Rivers on "Fashion Police" when they were covering Jolie and heard Rivers say those things about Jolie. Of course, she'd then make a crude joke about her, but when she was commenting on her star presence, she meant it, no joke.
And coming from Rivers, who throughout her decades seeing and knowing all the "A" Listers, that's saying something.
My favorite Jolie Red Carpet look wasn't a gown, it was the white tuxedo she wore.
|by Anonymous||reply 91||07/20/2020|
Jolie, Goddess of our time. Fair enough.
|by Anonymous||reply 92||07/20/2020|
The other Angie, Angela Bassett. Still a knock out at 61.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||07/20/2020|
(R91) I really love Angelina in the white suit. And that she actually looks healthy.
|by Anonymous||reply 94||07/20/2020|
She does indeed look lovely in that white pantsuit, R91.
But my favorite red carpet look of hers is that Atelier Versace dress @R85. It just screams Old Hollywood.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||07/20/2020|
R71, it's fun that OP uses the glamorous Ms. Ross's real name. I first heard Mary W. dishing about "Diane" during one of Mary's cabaret gigs.

R91 so did she get cheek implants or just lose a lot of weight and get older. She looks different there for sure — pretty but not as chiseled.
|by Anonymous||reply 99||07/21/2020|
just time, and more recently weight loss I guess - Jolie is only in her mid twenties there
|by Anonymous||reply 100||07/21/2020|
Did you even read what the posts were about r84/r85? Real life behavior often cancels any kind of glamour with these actresses. Jolie sometimes looks great (glamourous) on a red carpet, but her behavior IRL cancels any real Hollywood glamour for me. Drugs, shit with her brother, nasty divorces etc. and generally not being a pleasant and well liked person. Same with Amber Heard and her drama. Like someone mentioned upthread, real Hollywood glamour also needs some kind of mystery surrounding the actors. Nothing mysterious about Jolie or Heard, they're just trash.
|by Anonymous||reply 101||07/21/2020|
It’s called mystique, hunny. There are a few who have it. What’s her name, she had to fight them Aliens? Sigourney Weaver! I saw that movie and just wished she would wash and comb her hair. But is was fun to see her out there shooting with the fellas!
|by Anonymous||reply 102||07/21/2020|
Nothing mysterious about Jolie or Heard, they're just trash.
That may very well be true for Amber Heard but it certainly isn't true for Angelina Jolie.
|by Anonymous||reply 103||07/21/2020|
I shit in the bed, I'm glamorous!
|by Anonymous||reply 104||07/21/2020|
Emma Stone is kind of goofy glam. Like Amy Adams, they can wear it well, but lack mystique. Angelina Jolie looked like a witch, always. Yes, she was glamorous. But never beautiful. That bitch looked disturbed every day of her life. Pissed off. She's a permanent Disney Villain. Blanchett is a very basic person. But she looks amazing in clothes and lots of makeup. Nicole Kidman tries too hard to be GLAMOROUS - but she succeeded in spectacular fashion when she was younger and more relaxed.
Julia Roberts is glam - she knows who she is and what works on her. And that's everything from a red gown to a white pantsuit to a dark blue vintage dress. Her personality is 1,000 watt, not the jewelry. Her hair and makeup are always right but she always looks like herself. Not someone trying on a "new look."
Jessica Chastain had the allure and look of glam, a bit of quiet mystique. She's got it in her roles too. Not sure why the public and DL dislike her so much. She radiates talent a bit too much maybe.
Sharon Stone and Suzanne Somers remain the only glamorous women left in Hollywood I guess. But they aren't doing much these days. Too busy with Mensa and curing cancer. Older goddesses should devote themselves to good works. Jane Fonda was never glamorous. She's was a coed, a tootsie, an anarchist, a sports bra, trophy wife, the rich matron and now an old woman who still knows nothing about herself. She's well turned out.
|by Anonymous||reply 107||07/22/2020|
For the glamoor, I be best. Vay you forget me?
|by Anonymous||reply 108||07/22/2020|
R28 The person you speak of has far problems than ill-fitting clothing. There's nothing glamorous about a man rumored to have raped a teenager and chased him off a cliff when he tried to escape.
|by Anonymous||reply 109||07/22/2020|
Anyone who thinks Angelina Jolie ever had any authentic glamour is revealing themselves as a person who neither knows nor understands the difference between glamour and camp. She was very attractive when younger. Very, very attractive, even. But she is the human antithesis of grace and self-knowledge.
Loved your post R107, even if we may differ slightly on AJ. I don't know what it is about Amy Adams but I am unable to take my eyes off her when she's on screen. One of those women who looks pretty but unremarkable in various still and/or paparazzi shots but who seems to come alive in motion. Also, in my opinion, the most talented actress of her generation in H-Wood.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||07/22/2020|
The last glamorous celebrity was Grace Kelly.
|by Anonymous||reply 111||07/22/2020|
Glamour is not exactly talent and not exactly looks. It's partly what the viewer projects onto the subject. One reason there is so little glamour is that we know way too much about our celebrities. It was so much better when it was our reaction to light and shadows, not words and deeds.
|by Anonymous||reply 112||07/22/2020|
All of them going around in baseball caps and drab clothes, yech.
I kind of thought Lupita Nyong’o had it going on for a bit...
|by Anonymous||reply 113||07/22/2020|
Thank you for not mentioning his name r109. His p r people have been starting threads here to bait us to talk about him and have manipulated google search results to exclude DL and his name.
FYI: The threads his people started, one has his name and a country in the title and other one has B at man in the title.
The site of him makes my skin crawl.
|by Anonymous||reply 114||07/22/2020|
Georgie's people start threads about him on DL? Never heard about this rumour that he raped and killed (?) a teenager, r109, tell us more.

(R107) Julia Roberts has a good personality. Really? Most of the time I'd like to throw a brick at her head.
|by Anonymous||reply 117||07/22/2020|
I thought Angelina Jolie used to be glamorous because she was so beautiful even in plain clothes. Not anymore
|by Anonymous||reply 119||07/22/2020|
George Clooney never raped any 16 year old kid. What nonsense. He won't even fuck his wife.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||07/22/2020|
Me, of course, serving fierceness!
|by Anonymous||reply 123||07/22/2020|
Speaking of Georgia's wife, I read a really rude comment someone made about her on DM and wondered why his people hadn't had it removed.
The commenter said that in her "Before" pictures (that is before his people scrubbed her old pictures from the internet), she looked like Corporal Klinger from MASH. That is so unkind. Comparing her to Klinger from MASH. Why are people so cruel.

|by Anonymous||reply 128||07/22/2020|
We're talking innate glamour/style, not just wearing something a stylist told them to wear, or copying someone else's style.
|by Anonymous||reply 129||07/22/2020|
Sometimes I will see a beautiful starlet on the red carpet in the most stunning of dresses, perfectly tailored—but her hair is flat and dull, like she toweled it after getting out of the pool, and let it air dry. Why put all the effort into makeup and outfit, and none into the hairstyle? Just ruins it for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 130||07/22/2020|
Oh, R107, you're a glam expert!
|by Anonymous||reply 132||07/22/2020|
The most glamorous thing I ever saw was Betty Furness in a full length sable waiting to cross 61st Street at Park.
|by Anonymous||reply 133||07/23/2020|
^^^ Gurl is totally working it.
|by Anonymous||reply 135||07/23/2020|
I'd call Angelina Jolie striking rather than beautiful. I find her huge bucket jaw distracting. Every gorgeous dress she wears is diminished by those trashy, random tattoos. AJ = not glamorous. At all.
|by Anonymous||reply 136||07/23/2020|
^ The funny thing is that Angie has had her jaw and chin worked on multiple times to create that look. She had no chin as a child. She has had several chin and jaw implants over the years as well as cheek implants. I find her plastic surgery fascinating. It’s good work for the most part but she has had everything done.
|by Anonymous||reply 137||07/24/2020|
r137 Hmmm. I didn't realise she had so much done. It may be good work, but I'm not sure why she'd choose to make her jaw the dominant feature in her face. It's very masculine to me. Maybe that's what she was going for?
|by Anonymous||reply 138||07/24/2020|
That's because what R137 says is not true R138. Jolie hasn't had any work done to her jawline. She's just more defined as she got older and thinner. Like most of us. Her face loss baby fat and her bone structure is more prominent. Jolie may have had her nose slimmed down and obviously she's a fan of botox, but that's it.
|by Anonymous||reply 139||07/24/2020|
Young Jolie. Same face, same chin, same jaw, same lips. Her brows are little more lifted now (botox) but the same shape. I don't think Jolie is glamorous but she is lovely to watch when she's just speaking. She's got sex appeal like mad.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||07/24/2020|
My darlings, we're clutching at straws....the whole Glamour Thing is over.

Della's fascination with Jolie, football and serving saltines with butter make me think she is an 85 year old gay man from the biggest city from her small county in a large state. What a sophisticated lady he is. Angelina Jolie - how glamorous. Here, have some more chardonnay and would you care for a saltine with fresh butter? I once almost fucked Doug Flutie - but then he caught me. Oh, twas worth it. Have you seen my attempts to fit in on award show threads where I write how fat or wrong or badly made up everybody looks?
Joe Montana once called security on me! True story.

|by Anonymous||reply 145||07/25/2020|
R143 must be suffering from PMS. A lot of gay men on DL have it constantly.
|by Anonymous||reply 146||07/25/2020|
So, that old Della character is a man? I knew it R146. Gay men are such liars.
|by Anonymous||reply 147||07/25/2020|
R147, you should ask your doctor if he / she can help you with your premenstrual syndrome. No need to suffer alone.
|by Anonymous||reply 148||07/25/2020|
R138 well whether she did or not it’s the type of thing someone in Hollywood WOULD get done today, because the very strong square jawline and sharp cheekbones has become very much the beauty ideal of the past I’d say 15 years. It used to be that ideal face and features of a woman were much softer (generally speaking) — cute nose that maybe had a bit of natural fleshiness at the bottom, wide set eyes, high and broad but not necessarily super chiseled cheekbones, that sort of thing.
That’s why so many people here now look at someone like Cybill Shepherd and say “I don’t get what was so beautiful about her?”
|by Anonymous||reply 149||07/26/2020|
Amber Heard?! I’d say shitting in your bed and having your husband tell the world he refers to you as “Amber Turd” pretty much defies glamour. Those two are more like a real life example of turning over a rock in the woods and finding tons of squirming bugs beneath.
Angelina Jolie with her tattoos and vials of blood, no.
Balding Sharon Stone and her famous hairy vagina, no.
In this day of online tabloids and endless social media posts showcasing the banal every day activities of every celebrity it’s nearly impossible for glamour to exist. Add in to that hideous plastic surgery that’s become commonplace.
For every well-dressed red carpet moment, there’s several “leaving the gym without makeup and a coffee in hand” documented by the Daily Mail and others.
Anna Wintour is hideous. She reminds me of a giant roach.
Blanchett still has some glamour, as does Clooney, but it’s pretty much impossibke these days with our online culture (“fappening,” Instagram, Daily Mail celeb sightings, Weinstein revelations/“metoo”).

Movie star glamour left in the 70’s and 80’s, and I don’t think it ever returned. Jolie, Charlize, Julianne, Lupita ... they all look great now on the carpet but it’s the work of stylists, not their taste. In real life, they are plain Janes.
|by Anonymous||reply 157||07/26/2020|
Jolie's had her entire face reorganized. And she got huge and strange looking breast implants in her late teens/early 20's. Subsequently her figure was ruined by the gigantic tits on this emaciated frame. Freakish. Not glamorous.
When she speaks, she doesn't sound mysterious or glamours. She sounds like the uneducated twat that she is, with her carefully rehearsed sound bites.
|by Anonymous||reply 158||07/26/2020|
The French- Marion Cotillard and Jean Dujardin.
Say what you will of Amber, she does have a great sense of style.
|by Anonymous||reply 159||07/26/2020|
The British and European royal women are still pretty glamorous.
|by Anonymous||reply 160||07/26/2020|
Yes, so glamorous are the British Royalty...
|by Anonymous||reply 161||07/26/2020|
I was thinking of the silly hat Princess Anne wore to Diana's wedding. The French called it "l'omelette norvégienne". The dress was also very sophisticated.
|by Anonymous||reply 162||07/26/2020|
The most glamorous of European royalty.
|by Anonymous||reply 164||07/26/2020|
Spot on R143. If the Della character isn't a character then... oh dear. The AJ stanning is the giveaway, but the self-conscious 'good taste' is another.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||07/26/2020|
I knew a certain little someone who thought herself both glamorous and a celebrity, but she's no long with us
|by Anonymous||reply 166||07/26/2020|
What about me you ageist, racist, assholes????
|by Anonymous||reply 167||07/26/2020|
Love the high end hooker look, JLo.
|by Anonymous||reply 168||07/26/2020|
She's not looking great anymore, but Anjelica Huston was glamor personified. The looks, the attitude and the mystery of her. Incredible personal style and presence. Nobody put it on her. She is.

R171 is responsible for most of the AJ posters. He is a recent arrival to DL. Let's welcome another JolieBot to DL, friends.
|by Anonymous||reply 172||07/27/2020|
Glamour isn't real. Just like credit and fashion, it's all to keep people in line. We all bleed and take shits. All get naked to shower.
|by Anonymous||reply 175||07/27/2020|
^^ too young to have known glamour.
|by Anonymous||reply 176||07/27/2020|
If anything, COVID has taught us these celebrities with all their bullshit is interchangeable. who cares about these rich, famous crybabies?!
|by Anonymous||reply 177||07/27/2020|
Glamour died with this dame.
|by Anonymous||reply 178||07/27/2020|
Love to see pics of celebrities when they were much younger. Here is Camilla Parker Bowles, then Camilla Shand, with her mother in 1965 wearing some statement earrings.
|by Anonymous||reply 179||07/27/2020|
So Camilla was a horse before she became a Rottweiler? No glamour, not even with the ear bobs. She looks like a lamp.
|by Anonymous||reply 180||07/27/2020|
She looks fine but not exactly glamorous. It's interesting to see her at age 18. I wouldn't have recognised her.

The "Borromeo Sisters" have horse faces and are not pleasant on the eyes. Definitely are not up to par for the "glamorous" label on DL.
|by Anonymous||reply 189||07/29/2020|
^^^ Yeah. On the Planet Jupiter, maybe . . .
|by Anonymous||reply 191||07/29/2020|
Jesus, look at this picture guys. He is truly the last glamourous president.
|by Anonymous||reply 192||07/29/2020|

|by Anonymous||reply 194||07/29/2020|
My Pillow!? He probably has his own Trump Hotel brand of pillows - outrageously expensive and embroidered with gold thread and sich. Maybe the embroidery is in the shape of one of Melanie's nudie pics.
"glamourous" Oh dear
A typo and autocorrect didn't correct it. OMG. Are you ok? I hope I didn't ruin your evening plans.
|by Anonymous||reply 196||07/29/2020|
Sorry, R196. I like being a smart ass bitch.
But spelling mistakes really do make Baby Jesus cry.
|by Anonymous||reply 197||07/29/2020|
Glamourous is the Canadian spelling. It's French. Like Margarite Trudeau.

I just wanted to post that wacky photo of Janelle Monae. It was her outfit for the 2019 Met Gala. The theme was "Camp". No idea what Monae's regular fashion sense is.
|by Anonymous||reply 199||07/29/2020|
Glamourous is the Canadian spelling. It's French. Like Margarite Trudeau.
I assume the British spell "glamour" with a "u" but it looks like they also write "glamorous", almost never "glamourous". No consistency. Margaret (love your spelling) may have married a French Canadian but she isn't French herself. I remember many years ago when Margaret was young, they did a short bit about her on TV trying acting in a French film and it was a struggle for her to speak the language. I assume she is of British ancestry.
|by Anonymous||reply 201||07/29/2020|
Yup. Maggie Trudeau's maiden name is Sinclair and it looks like she is of Anglo-Irish descent.
|by Anonymous||reply 202||07/29/2020|
Magrite Trudeau was a very French girl. She is way before my time and her cancer death about destroyed her boys. She was GLAMOUROUS. This is how you spell it in French Canadian and in 1/4 of the globe. These things upset ancient white gay racist men too much. Marguerite was an old whore, but most certainly of French taste.
Gwen Stefani has glamour. Qui.
|by Anonymous||reply 204||07/29/2020|
Magrite? Is that like the painter "Magritte"? I doubt Maggie Trudeau was very French. She was born in Vancouver. "Glamourous" is French Canadian? Wouldn't it be "glamoureux"?
Is that you Sanjay the Troll? Are you drunk?
|by Anonymous||reply 205||07/29/2020|
Ah, you show your ignorance R205. So sure you are correct when you understand nothing of our vast heritage and resonant culture. I am not a Sanjay. My people come from a darker continent. But we are all GLAMOUROUS and native in French, as was the late Margorie Trudeau of Vancouver. Bon Chance R205! I don't drink.
|by Anonymous||reply 206||07/29/2020|
Bon Chance R205!
It's "Bonne chance", Sanjay. You must have picked up your excellent French from reading cereal boxes.
I'm pretty sure Marjorie Trudeau is still alive. She was starting fires in her Montreal apartment not too long ago (The MacGregor building, 1700 Doctor Penfield Avenue).
Magrite Trudeau was a very French girl. She is way before my time ....
You were sucking cock in Assiniboine Park twenty five years ago, Sanjay. That makes you an old whore. I hope there isn't a spike in covid-19 cases here. They might close down the liquor stores. Then alcoholics like you will go berserk.
|by Anonymous||reply 207||07/29/2020|
I don't live on reservations nor reside in Canada. I've never had sexual relations in any park that wasn't federal and I don't suck dick. My name is not Sanjay. Your ancient white fag racist ass must be from Quebec R207? Too much disease resides there. Bad deli, short leg flat nose white boys, bad dance companions and the less fragrant offspring of Tante Margoritte Trudeau. Bon Chance! What a disappointment monsoir, you are. When did you celibate your 75th birthday R207. The French Canadians speak the hUMOURless and inferior example of our beloved language.
|by Anonymous||reply 208||07/29/2020|
Oh I get it, Sanjay. You learned your Franglais from Monty Python films. You only have sexual relations in federal parks? Well, that makes you a proper lady, but I beg to differ. I visited Montreal once (they have a very nice botanical garden; much better than the one in Burlington, Ontari-ari-ari-o) but I've never lived in Quebec. I haven't celebrated my 75th birthday and I'm not celibate. When you say "tante", are you also alluding to the derogatory French term for "homosexuals"? That's very clever. I wonder how many different spellings for "Margaret" you can come up with. Where is Tante Marguerite buried?
|by Anonymous||reply 210||07/29/2020|
You'll have to notify wikipedia about Tante Marguerite's death, Sanjay. It was wicked of the media to ignore her passing.
|by Anonymous||reply 211||07/29/2020|
Tante Marguerite doesn't look bad here.
|by Anonymous||reply 212||07/29/2020|
I can't decide if this is glamorous or too flashy.
|by Anonymous||reply 213||07/29/2020|
Liza looks fabulous. Black is so slimming.
R44 OH MY GOD!!! Nicole, how are you??!!!!!
No, Kidman is glamorous. She made Uma Thurman and Jennifer Jason Leigh look rather casual, beside her.
|by Anonymous||reply 217||07/29/2020|
Yes but Ms. Herrera is older. Which of the young actresses, musicians, socialites, etc. are glamorous?
|by Anonymous||reply 219||07/30/2020|
Being fired in Boston for slapping hair stylists because you’re busy plucking gray hairs out of your wig as you await curtain time... that’s glamour.
|by Anonymous||reply 221||07/30/2020|
I hate to say it but Mrs. Melanie Trump often looks good, with the occasional huge fashion misstep.
Sophie Grégoire Trudeau - not so much. Not exactly elegant and stylish. Then again, I assume Melanie's clothes budget is much bigger and she has access to much better stylists.
|by Anonymous||reply 222||07/30/2020|
Blake Lively is the youngest glamorous person in Hollywood.
|by Anonymous||reply 223||07/30/2020|
R222, Melania is a good example of stylish clothes still doesn't buy one glamour or class.
|by Anonymous||reply 224||07/30/2020|
MISS Billy Porter is the ONLY example of feminine beauty, grace, and glamour we have left to hold on to. Thank GOD for sending us this black angel during the darkest days of the 21st century
|by Anonymous||reply 225||07/30/2020|
No to Blake Lively. Hell no. She thinks she's a fashion girl, but like Julianne Moore, she doesn't even wear it well. Why make yourself look worse than you have to? Ask Blake Lively.
|by Anonymous||reply 228||07/30/2020|

Well, we're both wrong, Sanjay the Troll. I looked up "glamorous" in my battered, old French dictionary and it translates as "charmeur, ensorcelant".
|by Anonymous||reply 229||07/30/2020|
Margeratite are you grieving? Leaves like the things of man you with your fresh thoughts care for can you?
Madame Trudeau was buried in the Pierre La Chaise Cemeterie in old Montreal. She rests atop of him, as they both preferred. Love never dies dear one. Dictionaries are not a serious field of study. Sanjay is a noble name, but alias, not mine. Bon Chance Grand-père!
|by Anonymous||reply 230||07/31/2020|
You're absolutely right, très vieux Sanjay (don't know why you insist on being incognito). Père Lachaise is a famous cemetery in Paris, and Pierre La Chaise is a famous cemetery in old Montreal. Poor Marguerite. I will miss her pyromanic antics.
|by Anonymous||reply 231||07/31/2020|
Fire make your body cold when I give you mine to hold.
|by Anonymous||reply 232||07/31/2020|
R230 your posts are hilarious
Also, I'm gonna have to unfortunately agree with Blake Lively. She is wonderful to look at, even when in character. I find her sexy and fascinating visually, she attracts the eye the way some people do. I was shocked to see her interviewed on a talk show, as she came across like a dimwit/idiot starlet but I still like looking at her.
Kristen Stewart is glamourous when dressed up in her Chanel/couture. She's another one I could look at for hours. Probably not a popular opinion lol.
|by Anonymous||reply 233||07/31/2020|
Cate Blanchett was a typical Australian country girl who wore minimal makeup and men's shirts before she discovered she could wear designer clothing very well.
|by Anonymous||reply 234||07/31/2020|
Madame Trudeau was buried in the Pierre La Chaise Cemeterie in old Montreal. She rests atop of him, as they both preferred.
Madame Trudeau is buried on top of Pierre?! Is her second husband, Fried Kemper, cool with that?

Nah, Sanjay. Living with me would get old really fast, unless you're endlessly fascinated by very bossy, very moody people. I'm not partner material. You could find a partner if you really wanted to. Well not now, in the Year of the Plague, but during normal times.
|by Anonymous||reply 237||08/02/2020|

Sanjay and Gupta. Glamoring.
|by Anonymous||reply 239||08/02/2020|
Sanjay these days. Yikes! Aging is a bitch.

I think the three most glamorous actresses that I've seen IRL during their prime are Charlize, Angie and Halle. This gay boy (back in the mid 00s I was still a twink!) was mesmerized by each of those ladies when I was working as an assistant to a well known director.
For old school, I always thought Julie Christie was perfection.
|by Anonymous||reply 241||08/02/2020|
However, Julie Christie was not glamorous It was not what she desired.
|by Anonymous||reply 242||08/02/2020|
Julie Christie is divine.
She and Jane Fonda are the best actresses of their generation.
|by Anonymous||reply 243||08/02/2020|
Thinking about what I wrote above, I would say Fonda is technically a more accomplished performer than Christie. But that also may be because Fonda was given showier roles, and had an American, let-it-all-hang-out approach.
Christie is mesmerizing in a mysterious way... she is simply someone you want to WATCH. And she is very unselfconscious - which is rare in a performer.
And she was capable of different personas, as she showed in McCABE & MRS. MILLER. Even her physical beauty is kind of changeable.
|by Anonymous||reply 244||08/02/2020|
AJ isn't glamorous. She poops on the toilet seat for attention, wears merges of another woman's face to give herself status as a world-class beauty, and for all of us old timers--everybody that's been around a while knows she was a prostitute for the longest time. An ill-behaved, dirty and overweight hooker, at that. Two words: scat problems.
|by Anonymous||reply 245||08/02/2020|
A friend of mine acted with Anjelica Jolie and said she was perfectly nice, and GOOD.
I think Tilda Swinton is glamorous. She dresses for occasions
Yes, in garbage bags.
|by Anonymous||reply 248||08/02/2020|
The weird thing is the celebrity I can think of who most often dresses to the nines for every possible occasion is Chrissy Metz.
The gowns almost never ever flatter her, but she DOES make an effort. They are usually dresses that would look beautiful on someone else with a more normal shape.
|by Anonymous||reply 249||08/02/2020|
R248 She looks quite chic.
|by Anonymous||reply 250||08/02/2020|
I agree, R250. The black dress accentuates her tall, slim figure and contrasts nicely with the colour of her hair.
|by Anonymous||reply 251||08/02/2020|
R248, Tilda looks great there.
Glamour doesn't require a jewel-tone strapless mermaid dress.
|by Anonymous||reply 252||08/02/2020|
r248, but she makes the garbage bag look chic, which not many people can do. That is glamor.
Are There Any Glamorous Celebrities Left?
Only the famous males with feminine titties.
|by Anonymous||reply 254||08/03/2020|
David Bowie personified glamour until the very end of his life. He had it all: Mystique, creativity, a self-contained confidence. He never followed trends (if anything, he created them) and never did what was expected.
I wish I could think of someone equivalent in any field who's still alive, but I fear Twitter and 24/7 media saturation, and the pressure on celebrities to quickly adopt the social cause of the week, has just about destroyed the whole idea of glamour.
|by Anonymous||reply 255||08/03/2020|
I like his music but he was a druggie and a tween diddler, so the "glamorous" title is not appropriate for Bowie.
|by Anonymous||reply 256||08/03/2020|
Who keeps saying Blanchett? After that movie she did where she was on the toilet taking a crap and wiping her ass? That's not glamour.
