She looked into my dying friend's eyes and replied, "I'm sorry but I don't know who you are," and she walked away.

Bill contacted an attorney friend who sent a letter demanding payment for his work to the celebrity couple. About a week later, Bill received an envelope from Shirley. Lets read carefully. Jones contracted a portrait and didn't pay the full amount upon delivery.

This man also drew portraits UNSOLICITED and then presented them or mailed them? to stars and asked them to sign. Which seems to be the case with Streisand. She had every right not to get involved with a devout fan who furthermore may have been trying to merch on her image.

So in sum - some portraits were commissioned and paid for (CHER!) or not (Jones)

Some portraits were not commissioned, just fan art. And may well have arrived out of the blue with the star having no knowledge of this artist.

Until we hear from Shirley, we've only heard one side. If the artist sent people unsolicited portraits, he shouldn't expect anything from them. Were there only 4 people at this artist's funeral? If true, doesn't sound like the artist was very likable.

A million years ago, I worked as a retail clerk at a little boutique on Michigan Avenue in Chicago.
