Does anyone work in an Amazon warehouse? Is it Hell?

I’m really to hate every minute of this healthcare job I’m at. The staff and management are awful, and they just lowered our hours. Also no one wears a COVID mask and we’re in really close quarters.

I want out very bad and the only option by me is the Amazon.com warehouse, which is offering more money and hours. I think they’d also uphold strict COVID standards since they are very public company. They’re also offering day one benefits which is one of the things tying me to this job.

Could someone help me make an informed decision?

I am sure each location is different. Probably not the way you want to spend any vacation but if I were you, I would get hired by Amazon, take a week vacation from your current job and check out working at Amazon that week, at the end of the week decide which job is best.

Not like you can really travel any where right now.

Glass door is a site that reviews jobs, you will need to sign in using Facebook or Google, which I am not doing since I am not looking for a job, but you might get more reviews than you will from DL.

There are enough Amazon warehouse worker stories online at news sites and on blogs. Google those. Granted most of them are horror stories but they will give you an idea of the work culture, atmosphere and structure. There are also retired folk who live in their RVs who sign on during rush periods, they blog about it too.

From what I can remember there is a probation period. Also, if you leave during that time period because you got sick (or were injured on the job) you have to wait a certain amount of time before applying again.
