Women who were considered hot and glamorous didn’t need or resort to fake tits in the 70s to early ‘80s. Tits don’t mean curvy btw, a woman can have small tits yet be curvy (hourglass shape/ chest-waist-hips ratio).

I had an older female friend who was just like that. She was a high fashion model who posed for the likes of Helmut Newton back in her day. She was flat as Keira Knightly, meaning she was pretty flat. Yet she was curvy as fuck but thin at the same time. Oh and she told me stories about her conquests including some very famous rock stars. I think she besides being gorgeous was hella confident in her body, it didn’t even occurred to her that she should’ve gotten fake tits. By the time I knew her she was in her early 40s divorced and had 3 kids. But still hot, I remember her rocking 70s style tube top over her flat chest and men of all ages turning their heads to look at her.

She didn't have a particularly good figure; she was shaped like a pear, with wide hips and plump thighs, and of course those little powderpuffs. She also did nude modeling; photos of her nude plainly show she had quite an imperfect figure and a very luxuriant bush.

I think that perkiness matters for than size for women, a small high boob is more attractive than a large droopy boob, or a small droopy boob. Big perky boobs aren't common so any gal who has them won the genetic titty lottery, but the big perky boobs never last.

I know this because I'm a nurse, I've seen more naked old or middle-aged people than anyone should. Big boobs always sag eventually, small boobs may stay perky for a lifetime. Or not.
