Your experiences? Minoxidil seems like a pain in the ass, but finasteride (more effective I hear) can cause irreversible sexual side effects.
Lucky I made it to 60 before it started to go, but I'm still keeping it if I can.

Bye, Propecia!

One made me not cum. I'll go bald.

They take quite a while to work. Expect at least year to see a significant difference. If you have pets, Minoxidil is highly toxic to dogs and cats so don't let them lick your head and thoroughly wash your hands after use.

If something is toxic to another animal then it’s probably toxic to humans.

I used nanodixil for 1,5 year or so. It worked but had to keep using it twice a day. I started to use some quality bio hair products and after a few months it had the same effect. I feel much better about it.

I've been taking Finasteride for the past five years. I've had no side effects and it's been effective in growing/maintaining hair.

OP, you are 60. How active is your sex life as it is?
I am on it and have been since the age of 23. I am now 30. I so not have any major side effects. Me and my fiance has sex about 2 to 3 times a week, but when he is out of town (and I am free to fuck who I want) I do everyday or twice without issue.
I was 23 when I started to lose my hair. My father and brother are bald. I am not. At all. I was willing to take the risk and I am glad I did. At 60, it may not be as big a deal to you, but who wants to be bald at 30?
Also, I do not buy the irresponsible sexual side effects. Propecia works by stopping DHT production. If someone stopped taking it, there is no reason to believe it would continue to have that effect.
Funny how there are so many fat, bald dudes who wont take propecia due to fear of impotency, but will eat fatty foods high in cholesterol, smoke and drink, when that also causes impotence.

R7, you're cute. I've taken care of myself and got some of the luckiest genes on earth, along with the freedom to enjoy life. Meanwhile, I dig my hair, which is starting to thin. Maybe worth rubbing that stuff on my head, but not irreversible sexual problems.
The irreversible part is documented, in response to another poster.

DHT blockers like finasteride and dutasteride may help with COVID-19 (high androgen levels are associated with severe cases).

Those of us who started getting more ass than at any other point in our lives when we decided to follow God's path for us.

There's already been repeated thread after repeated thread on this OP. Why did you find it necessary to come here and start another? Why? Why OP? Can you give us an intelligent, honest answer? Can you? Why would you come here and post this kind of shit yet AGAIN when there have already been so many prior threads on this EXACT same subject. Do you really think this is that damned interesting that it warrants another entire thread to be started? DO YOU??
Why couldn't you have done a search first OP? That would have been the polite thing to do. What you demonstrated was just plain selfishness. You have shown that you don't think about anybody but yourself. It's all about you and your own satisfaction. Next time before you post, do us all a favor and do a search. We don't need another duplicate thread just because of your laziness.

R12...are you OK?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 14, 2020 3:49 PM |
Outside of medication, if you have $20K-$30K to burn OP, you can find a good doctor who performs hair transplantation. It's much better than the hair plugs of the 90's. Of course, you still have to have a decent amount of hair left for this to work. No point if you're fully bald.
I haven't done it, but the guy that cuts my hair says that he has plenty of guys who do go that route.

Minoxidil was awful for me, it just made me shed, shed, shed, even after one year of using it. I started Finasteride half a year ago--I should have started sooner!!! I was afraide of the possible side effects bbut I haven't had any of them. My dermatologist said that I have the best results on the medicine of any of her patients and she even took pictures of the results. I've seen a good amount of regrowth AND it stopped my hairloss. Win win.

Oh, freaking dear!

I had an alopecia spot and Minoxidil (from costco) worked like a charm, grew back in less than a month.

I've been using Finasteride for years. Totally arrested my hair loss and I've had some regrowth. Regardless, I still keep my hair closely-cut.
No sexual side effects either.

I have been taking Minoxidil for almost 2 years now and it has worked. My hair in the front was thinning and getting sparse, it is much better now.
