Well, it’s not like Whitney came out of retirement.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 13, 2020 9:35 PM |
damn, I gotta get a good wig.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 13, 2020 9:40 PM |
I bet a remix lp or another greatest hits I really doubt she’d tour.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 13, 2020 9:44 PM |
R4 If it is popular enough, I wonder if she would consider a short headliner run in Vegas?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 13, 2020 9:50 PM |
She can’t be a bigger mess than Whitney on her last tour.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 14, 2020 6:25 AM |
Miss Tina had a stroke, cancer and a kidney transplant. She don't look like that and she sure as fuck is done singing.

Kygo smells cookies.

Is it really a comeback if you’re just releasing a remix of a song released almost 40 years ago??? I would rather her release a brand new dance single. Don’t need an album or tour, just a new song.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | July 14, 2020 6:43 AM |
Kygo’s Higher Love was great because Whitney’s version had at those awful new jack swing effects obscuring an otherwise good song.
WLGTDWI doesn’t have that problem.

I always loved Better Be Good to Me
Tina's "should Iiiiiiiiiiiii!" is everything
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 14, 2020 7:47 AM |
She's old and fat and earned it all. Let her relax.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 14, 2020 8:06 AM |
Lol at that old tour book photo they've used for her, and yet everyone is talking about how AMAZING she looks...
Anyway, I actually quite like the Kygo / Whitney Houston remix and it certainly gets stuck in my head. I seem to hear it everywhere I go. But as a huge fan of Tina Turner I have to echo what R11 said. I wish he had reworked one of her lesser-known songs into a modern dance hit rather than one of the most well-known songs of the past few decades that doesn't really need an update. "Higher Love" felt fresh and completely new.
It seems EXTREMELY unlikely she will tour given her health issues. I don't even think she'll do a TV performance at the Grammys or whatever. Not sure she can actually still properly sing any more. She may do a few media appearances though, release some book or merchandise.

If she can manage a remix, she and her musician-producer friends can probably cobble together an album of new material.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 14, 2020 9:06 AM |
Tina and her husband have plenty of money.
She doesn't have to keep working like Dionne Warwick or some others.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 14, 2020 9:29 AM |
Read coverage of it. It’s just a remix. For the gays. She approved it. End of.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 15, 2020 3:00 AM |
OP, the stupid lying drama of it all.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 15, 2020 3:18 AM |
I think she is in poor health.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 15, 2020 3:24 AM |
I doubt she'll ever tour or play shows again, but I could see her possibly recording another album or doing a remix album with one or two new or previously unreleased tracks if this does well. Tina didn't write her material and was famous for nailing songs in one or very few takes, she could probably record a new album in a couple weeks if people got her the right material from the beginning.

The Queen of Rock released a new song 3 months ago, but you bitches were too busy talking about Real Housewives
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 15, 2020 3:50 AM |
I hope Kygo doesn't leave out the bridge on WLGTDWI like he did on Whitney's Higher Love.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 15, 2020 4:00 AM |
Good news, maybe certain elder gay can replace his missing Tina Turner clock now with a new one
by Anonymous | reply 23 | July 15, 2020 4:17 AM |
Um, R21. That song is from her album "Twenty Four Seven", which was released in 1999.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | July 15, 2020 4:27 AM |
R21 That song and video are from 2000.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 15, 2020 4:28 AM |
Kygo should remix When The Bleeding Is Over for R21.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 15, 2020 4:37 AM |
Enjoy this. It's New Year's Eve. Tina's been grinding it out in nightclubs and hotels for years. She has a few new songs and some balloons. A new piano player. Johnny Carson gives her a two spot. And she's fucking on fire. Gorgeous and tired and hungry to succeed. So sexy in that dress and so much shimmer in her shake. Her voice full of pain and promise and fire. Voice of a woman, body of a girl. The world was about to change again for Tina Turner.
I fucking love her. Don't come back.

Thanks r27 That's why Tina is a survivor. Giving it her all in performance, even with a couple of D-list songs and the cheapest band that she could barely afford at the time.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | July 15, 2020 2:49 PM |
Gee I thought the band was kind of cute.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | July 15, 2020 4:23 PM |
She's very retired and it is truly unlikely she would ever perform again or make appearances.
They may be trying to do a remix project and this is the toe in the water. But she'd be smarter to have someone do a project like the Verve remixed one vs just slapping BPM's on it so some queens can twerk to her old stuff.

R21 the date you're seeing on the YT video is the date it was uploaded to YT; it was released 20 years ago.
NOW who's had their head up their ass and/or in Real Housewives???
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 15, 2020 4:28 PM |
I ❤️ Tina & always will

Sounds as bad as his Whitney remix, this kygo has no originality or talent.

[quote]Sounds as bad as his Whitney remix, this kygo has no originality or talent
Remove the Tina Turner tracks, and it sounds IDENTICAL to the Whitney remix!
What a winning formula - copy/paste! Here's the line-up for the next decade:
2021: Kygo does Kim Carnes
2022: Kygo does Stevie Nicks
2023: Kygo does Debbie Harry
2024: Kygo does Pat Benatar
etc....
by Anonymous | reply 34 | July 23, 2020 4:58 PM |
I’d love to see her come back, but this doesn’t sound like she’ll sing.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | July 23, 2020 5:15 PM |

He should have reworked "Don't Turn Around."
by Anonymous | reply 36 | July 23, 2020 5:23 PM |
It isn't a horrible remix. But Kygo doesn't seem to be the greatest. I, much preferred the person who did the Reba dance remix a few years ago, Bummerman. For some reason he doesn't appear to have done anything else.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | July 23, 2020 5:34 PM |
R38 that’s a great remix
