I just read up on Frank Lampard. He has 12 GCSEs (exams taken at age 16) with A or A* grades, including an A in Latin. He's smart as fuck.

As an example, to get a converted U.S. highschool diploma without Honours one would require a minimum of 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above. O-Levels no longer exist in the U.K., and haven’t since 1987, but they were basically the prototype of the GCSE/SAT of today; the OWL tests in the ‘Harry Potter’ novels are based on the O-Levels J.K. Rowling took in school. You are correct that a 1st Degree Honours roughly matches up to a Magna cum laude, etc.

Doing a bit of extended reading on the biological science of kinship, I have just now stumbled across the fact that cousins of twins share 25% of their DNA. This means that they may technically be considered as genetic half-siblings, and therefore as close kin as grandchild & grandparent i.e., closer than first cousins/3rd degree relations, but not quite as close as full siblings or child & parent.
