Dry Skin Brushing - anyone tried this?
I just started doing this again after a long hiatus and it is so energizing and invigorating right before a shower. I regret stopping and of course my skin looks and feels better. It really only takes less than 5 minutes once you get a routine going.
Should you decide to try it, ALWAYS BRUSH UP TOWARDS THE HEART with a natural bristle brush.
There are plenty of tutorials and info out there on proper way to do it and its benefits.
This guy says it also helps adrenals, which I guess couldn't hurt during these extra stressful times. He went a little overboard with the food grade lotion that is good enough to eat shtick but whatever, I'll stick to my Cetaphil in the winter and CeraVe in the summer. Also, he brushes in circles whereas I prefer long, upward strokes.

Very interesting, OP. Makes a lot of sense, actually.

I did it for a while, didn't really notice any major changes in my skin. I think it's just another passing fad for "those types" of people. Also, I was using a very soft bristled brush which really didn't do anything. It probably needs to be coarser, but that just felt weird.

The "natural" bristle brush recommended is not soft which results in exfoliation and the energized feeling.

This video is worthless with clothes.

Hmmm. I used to do this daily for a few years when I was younger, and did enjoy the feeling of warmer softer skin. It’s hard to remember now, but think I stopped because it was spiking my anxiety & irrational panic (everything did, back then). If I find the brush again I might give it another go.
There are those who claim that it can encourage lympathic drainage and thereby prevent the spread of cancer, but I’m not sure about that; seems like an exaggerated, spurious claim. Anyone know much about lymph nodes and how they work?
I remember reading something once about how frequent dry-brushing could be dangerous for those with blood pressure issues, because it speeds circulation too fast and stresses the adrenals. It’s also not recommended for anyone with a pre-existing skin condition or with weak sensitive skin, as bristles abrade the skin and will cause micro-tears that could get infected or scar.
