If his old Nicki Minaj fan account had never been discovered he never would have come out. He's not a gay icon, he's another closet case coward.

R3, he is only 21. It isn’t as if he has stayed closeted for years and years. He seems to have embraced the life. Think you can give him a break on that front.

R6 I'm pissed because he's being heralded as this gay saint for "coming out" when he didn't want to in the first place. Both the public and himself are acting as if he died upon the rainbow cross for our sins, when in reality he would have stayed closeted had he not been practically outed by Nicki Minaj stans.

Of course I'm sour. I don't believe in glorifying self-hating gay men.

Most or a large percentage of openly lgbt persons are out at Least partly because they were outed to some extent by others, letting their guard down, or circumstances.

R3 He came out when his first hit was number one. Most gay actors and singers came when they are way past their glorious days or they don't come out at all. People here even justified bearding for young actors (if they like the actor of course).

The truth is he came out at the very beginning of his career. And even more, he is in a mix of two very homophobic genres.
