Gail O'Grady

Why did her career never take off? As Donna Abandando in NYPD Blue, she epitomized the quintessential NY Working Girl. Here role was perfect casting.

She was in talks at one point to play Lana Turner in a TV miniseries based on Lana’s autobiography. She’s much taller than Lana was, but there’s definitely a resemblance between them.

Donna was such a great character. I loved that she had a little rubber troll always at the end of her pencil.

(I also loved that her last name means "abundance" in Italian.)

She left NYPD Blue because FOX Network offered her a series pilot - and she had to make a choice

Have 3 lines a week on NYPD Blue or her own series. She chose to take the risk, and what wound up happening is that FOX could never come up with the right vehicle, so they just paid her off.

She didn't do so badly. Me, on the other hand...

R1, I googled her height and supposedly she is only 5’3”. I also thought she was tall. Really tall - like 5’10” - and broad as well. Weird.

She's got massive knockers for 5'3".

Jean Smart stole her career.

I loved her and Gordon Clapp together, he was so infatuated with her. My favorite supporting player was Bill Bochtrup. NYPD Blue deserves a lot of credit for creating that character and Bochtrup hit just the right notes in not making him a parody.

She was the mother on American Dreams, I liked that show.

Ok...Lana was only 5-1-2, so Gail could have pulled it off.

She was in the 2019 Lifetime movie Identity Theft of a Cheerleader as the mom of a 30yo woman who goes back to high school to become head cheerleader. Vicky will stop at nothing to get what she deserves!

Those Lifetime movie titles are the worst thing and the best thing simultaneously.
