Age-related dementia. I don't think it's gone. He has done very limited press recently, and the less he is able to speak publicly, the less demented he appears.

There have been short periods during which Trump seemed to have been better controlled, with no public speaking appearances and not many tweets, and during those times, I think even many ardent critics sort of forgot how truly horrible he is. Being quiet and hidden can be very powerful.

R4 I don't think that that is true. I think that belief, which I believe you hold authentically, is the result of partisan bias.

I support Biden's candidacy. He was way at the bottom of who I had hoped to end up being the nominee among the Democratic contenders because of his apparent dementia or at least his inability to focus or to speak coherently. And for the record, I do not like Sanders AT ALL.

Biden was on The View last year, being confronted about MeToo-related accusations, and he could not speak coherently or finish a thought. He would start with an answer, go off on multiple tangents with multiple clauses, shrug, say "Uhhh. Anyways!" and then he done. The women were obviously confounded. I couldn't decide whether this was some kind of distraction tactic or if his nerves got the best of him.

But then during the Dem debates, all his responses were "Blah blah, and let me tell you, this one time back in Wilmington, I met a kid who, I said, hey, kid, my name is Joe, what's your name, and his, his, his mother, let me tell ya, she was a great lady, a great lady and...ANYWAYS!" I mean, it was maddening to watch.

Biden is unquestionably the better candidate for president. He's not an evil person. And he respects the rule of law and he will be collaborative and decent. So do not mistake me for some kind of Biden saboteur. I am not. I want with my whole heart for him to win.

I also live in reality. If you put a typical verbatim Biden unscripted speech transcript next to a Trump one, they both look on paper as if they have dementia. They are different. Trump is a fear-mongerer, and he's REALLY incoherent and I would say he has advanced dementia, or whatever immediately precedes that, and Biden is not that limited. But there is no question, if you are being objective, that Biden's spoken words are always disorganized and confused. He does seem to have good days and bad days, but he is a messy, messy speaker.

Only a brainless ideologue would listen to Biden's gibberish and think there's nothing wrong.

R10 It's true, I didn't hear that press conference. He's got my support no matter what given the circumstances. If he is performing more coherently, that only makes me happy. I've just watched him over the past couple of years and everything I have seen has consistently shown that he was incapable of focusing.

If it was a blood clot that they cleared up, great. If he's on some kind of ADHD medication, great. If something is working, then great. I'm all for it.

Please pause any impulse to believe that anyone who is critical of anything you support is an 'enemy.' The world really is not always like that, despite our recent cultural climate.

The only thing that was wrong with Joe Biden is political adversaries taking things that happen to everyone everyday and inflating them to something that didn't exist for political gain. Even young people and people at the top of their games get tongue tied, and twist things in public speaking. If you do any kind of public speaking, even if you are the top subject matter expert in that field, there are times when you are going to trip up. The experts in public speaking tell you this all the time.

Also, Joe is not what I would call a rehearsed politician. He speaks off the cuff and sometimes without a filter and that leads to missteps in this overly sensitive 24/7 news world.

If you really want Biden's health to be a big issue in the campaign, keep freaking out like it really is a problem. That's a sign it really is a problem...or you're another hysteric.
