Madonna always had trouble singing "Into The Groove" live

look at these 4 live performances...the first 2 are particularly bad. She goes off key frequently and lowers the octave on the line "with someone else".

She yells rather than sings throughout a lot of the song and her nasal quality really comes out

It makes you wonder how long it took her to record the song in the studio because clearly this song is difficult for her to sing and tests her very limited range.

starting with Live Aid 1985

The Virgin Tour

very similar to Live Aid, maybe marginally better

Who's That Girl tour

this is her best vocal version of the song but she still has trouble with "with someone else". This time instead of lowering the octave, she SCREAMS it in a raspy way. For whatever reason she isn't confident enough to try singing that higher octave

Blonde Ambition tour

completely lazy. She has Donna and Nikki doing ALL the work on the higher octave notes including the troublesome "with someone else". In fact they drown her out on that line in particular

For crissakes give us a break. Nobody has the time nor interest to invest in your shitty takedown.

by Anonymousreply 4July 10, 2020 1:11 AM

OP, Madonna always has trouble singing anything.

by Anonymousreply 5July 10, 2020 1:17 AM

About damn time someone noticed!

by Anonymousreply 6July 10, 2020 1:19 AM

She’s a fun pop star with good pop songs. We all know this. She now has bad legs & a plastic face. Yet we’re suppose to give a fuck about a song from the mid 80’s. Madonna frau move on.

by Anonymousreply 7July 10, 2020 1:25 AM

Still a hundred times better than Jabba's live singing, always.

by Anonymousreply 8July 10, 2020 1:25 AM

Better than i expected it to be though... she was so much fun back then. I just pretend that she died young.

All women's voices get lower as they age. Barbra can't hit the money notes anymore, either. And Cher sounds like Elvis.

[quote]She’s a fun pop star with good pop songs.

WAS a fun pop star. Now she’s just a sad has-been.

by Anonymousreply 11July 10, 2020 1:38 AM

OP faps her scabby mangy putrid fuck hole while posting this shit, over and over, month after month, year after year. She uses a black Material Girl cross bought a Hot Topic on markdown, in 1986.

by Anonymousreply 12July 10, 2020 1:41 AM

R10 she was at her peak during 80s and early 90s performances. She wasn't old

by Anonymousreply 13July 10, 2020 2:01 AM

Lowlife skank of a woman.

by Anonymousreply 14July 10, 2020 2:08 AM

It's not really a vocally challenging song to sing. It's Keraoaki simplistic singing. She sings it fine.

by Anonymousreply 15July 10, 2020 2:51 AM

I think it's her best song. I think -with the exception of Vogue - it best exemplifies the dancefloor as a space of joy, freedom and liberation. "Only when I'm dancing can I feel this free" is so simple yet powerful.

I love the Who's That Girl performance because of the raspiness in her voice. There was some grit and her energy in that performance was something else.

by Anonymousreply 16July 10, 2020 3:01 AM

Her presence is magnificent

by Anonymousreply 17July 10, 2020 3:25 AM

It's nothing to do with her voice lowering with age. Her voice was strongest in the lower range back then but she insisted on singing up there because she knew it was girlish and appealing for the teen market. Nile Rodgers talks about how Madonna would only record Material Girl in the demo key. He said it was challenging to record because that is not where he voice naturally sits.

What was the deal with that kid? I always thought the horny kid in Open Your Heart video was creepy too. Like she was channeling Michael Jackson.

by Anonymousreply 19July 10, 2020 3:45 AM

There is something so appealing about a live performance with actual singing instead of lip syncing. It’s raw and imperfect but much more powerful than today’s overly produced concert.

by Anonymousreply 20July 10, 2020 3:57 AM

R20 not when it’s a no talent twat like hagdonna doing it.

by Anonymousreply 21July 10, 2020 3:58 AM

Her bad singing was tolerable in her early years. Way more watchable than Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. If she died early she wouldve been legendary. She ruined her legacy.

by Anonymousreply 22July 10, 2020 4:04 AM

She can dance...for inspiration. But she cannot sing.

by Anonymousreply 23July 10, 2020 4:04 AM

She can sing .....for constipation.

by Anonymousreply 24July 10, 2020 4:07 AM

Enjoyed the videos OP, thanks. Especially liked the Blond Ambition tour.

I don't think she sounds that bad, actually.

by Anonymousreply 25July 10, 2020 7:31 AM

I remember her saying something like she wasn't taking shit off because Live Aid was after her nude photos got out. She must have been sweating her ass off in all those layers she used to wear. She was so much fun before the 90's.

by Anonymousreply 26July 10, 2020 7:37 AM

Don't try to hide it, love wears no disguise

I see the fire burning in your eyes

by Anonymousreply 27July 10, 2020 7:53 AM

it would be amusing seeing her try to sing other female pop singers' songs since she has trouble with her own

Recording acts should NEVER record in a key that they have difficulty duplicating live consistently. It's really funny to see how she kept avoiding or butchering "with someone else" over the years when she should have been at her vocal peak
