SCOTUS Chief Justice John Roberts hospitalized in June after injuring his head in a fall

Dehydration?

Really? They're going with dehydration?

[quote]John Roberts, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, was hospitalized last month after injuring his head in a fall, court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg confirmed to CBS News' Jan Crawford. Roberts, 65, was treated at the hospital on June 21 and stayed overnight, Arberg said.

[quote]According to Arberg, Roberts sustained an injury that required sutures on his forehead while walking for exercise near his home. Doctors believe the fall was likely due to light-headedness caused by dehydration.

[quote]Roberts has suffered from seizures before, but doctors ruled one out in this case. He had a seizure in 2007 while at his summer home in Maine, similar to a seizure that he suffered in 1993.

Pushed down the stairs more like. Did he get a visit from Barr?

by Anonymousreply 1July 8, 2020 3:25 AM

Disinformation campaign triggered by recent votes. A trial balloon to see what steps are possible to remove him before Shitler is gone. Maybe he'll have a "unexpected stroke" soon.

by Anonymousreply 2July 8, 2020 3:48 AM

This seemed more like an "attacked by a random trick" situation to me.

by Anonymousreply 3July 8, 2020 3:50 AM

They were filming a "Life Alert Bracelet" commercial.

by Anonymousreply 4July 8, 2020 3:52 AM

I told him I wasn't pleased with his votes last week.

by Anonymousreply 5July 8, 2020 4:16 AM

Will they chalk up his recent "liberalness" to dehydration as well?

by Anonymousreply 6July 8, 2020 4:17 AM

Is this why we still don't have a decision on Trump's taxes?

by Anonymousreply 7July 8, 2020 4:19 AM

We have to hope they ALL hold on til February and that we win back the senate. If that happens we are good because the repugs themselves gave us the tools to regain the SCOTUS.

by Anonymousreply 8July 8, 2020 4:20 AM

So sketchy.

by Anonymousreply 9July 8, 2020 4:53 AM

Can he still sing and dance and tell jokes?

by Anonymousreply 10July 8, 2020 4:55 AM

He was doing a keg stand at Brett Kavanaugh's house.

by Anonymousreply 11July 8, 2020 4:58 AM

Perhaps a gift of Putin Cologne.

by Anonymousreply 12July 8, 2020 5:02 AM

He was at a Chevy Chase MD country club with his pal Brett

How bad was the fall?

Politico:

[quote] An onlooker told the newspaper that the chief justice’s head was covered in blood.

More Politico:

Roberts reportedly suffered a seizure in 1993 while golfing and was told not to drive for several months.

In 2007, two years after assuming his post as chief justice, the court confirmed that Roberts slipped off a dock at his Maine vacation home and suffered scrapes after apparently suffering a seizure.

The earlier episode was not disclosed during Roberts’ confirmation process because the White House considered it to be a one-off incident. Doctors said the 1993 and 2007 seizures meant Roberts would be deemed to suffer from epilepsy, although the court said in 2007 that the seizures were of unknown origin.

by Anonymousreply 14July 8, 2020 5:08 AM

Epilepsy: he's good to go. Next, a more reliable repug justice.

by Anonymousreply 15July 8, 2020 5:10 AM

Most epilepsy is successfully treated. No good reason to step down. .

R11 - John and Brett do have a mutual passionate admiration of their bros.... I can only imagine the plethora of blackmail material being held over the heads of these sad cases who are pawns full of self loathing and fear.

by Anonymousreply 17July 8, 2020 5:31 AM

It is odd that they're revealing this now. The recent fall must have been worse than originally diagnosed. If Roberts were to suddenly die, it would be too suspicious (like the 'thugs offed him to guarantee a conservative Chief Justice for another 20 years), so this revelation is quite worrisome but so is the background that Roberts has been having seizures for years and no one thought to disclose it.

by Anonymousreply 18July 8, 2020 6:02 AM

I am no fan of him, but I've fallen down from dehydration too. It's actually believable. Not saying it is. But it might be.

by Anonymousreply 19July 8, 2020 7:28 AM

Tired and emotional--nervoush exhaushtion!

by Anonymousreply 20July 8, 2020 7:31 AM

Dehydrated? Seems legit.

Yes, old people and their Reduced sense of thirst are real. Drink up, old fat hoes.

Lost sense of thirst in elderly leads to scientific study

Undetected dehydration can have deadly consequences

By John W. Gonzalez Published 5:30 am CDT, Monday, August 30, 2004

SAN ANTONIO - It has long been known that the elderly lose their sense of thirst as they age, and sometimes they suffer deadly consequences from undetected dehydration.

That's what killed thousands of Europeans in a heat wave last year. In France alone, 14,000 seniors perished.

But Texas scientists are trying to pinpoint the cause of that phenomenon by examining the way the brain distributes thirst messages to the body. They're optimistic they'll create a blueprint for solving other riddles about the impact of aging on routine bodily functions.

June 21st?

Where was TMZ?

by Anonymousreply 25July 8, 2020 7:42 AM

Remember this?

WASHINGTON (June 15, 2010) -- Gen. David H. Petraeus, commander of U.S. Central Command, blamed dehydration for causing him to take ill this morning during a Senate hearing.

Petraeus and Michele Flournoy, undersecretary of defense for policy, were testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee about military operations in Afghanistan when he suddenly became lightheaded and had to be ushered from the hearing room.

Petraeus returned about a half hour later, telling the senators he felt better after drinking several glasses of water and eating a banana. "I was just dehydrated," he said, joking that his temporary illness had nothing to do with the senators' questioning.

Although Petraeus offered to continue the session, the hearing was cancelled for the day and rescheduled for tomorrow.

I’m such a suspicious type—I keep imagining Dump’s new Michael Cohen gave him a push and whispered, “keep those taxes secret!”

This really is like the old Kremlin in the old Soviet Union: medical details leaked out piecemeal as and when it suits. They also used to say of their walking-dead leaders, when they were finally admitted to the hospice: " Just for routine tests." Disinformation/fake news. Are they going to get rid of Roberts and Ginsberg at the same time?
