OP, where is the "Blue" part so I can move there, I hate the Red part mistakenly chose.

I'm astonished by the belligerent seniors in my area that refuse to wear a mask and also give loud commentary on the situation.

I loathe DeSantis and he reminds me so much of Chris Christie.

by Anonymousreply 2July 7, 2020 10:50 PM

Ohio too. These idiots are going to insure Covid is running rampant and the death toll increases...wait until Flu season kicks in.

by Anonymousreply 3July 7, 2020 11:00 PM

I would home school my kids for at least the next school year. I feel I would be endangering them if they attend school. If my kid got sick with a Covid-related illness, I would never forgive myself.

R2 - “OP, where is the "Blue" part so I can move there, I hate the Red part mistakenly chose.I'm astonished by the belligerent seniors in my area that refuse to wear a mask and also give loud commentary on the situation.I loathe DeSantis and he reminds me so much of Chris Christie.”

OP here. Come to Fort Lauderdale. I’m a block from the beach. Gay district, Wilton Manors, is a few minutes away. There are a few trumpies running around here, but I just verbally kick their ass every time they rear their ugly selves.

by Anonymousreply 5July 7, 2020 11:47 PM

So? Almost all the little kids don't get it and the few that do get it mildly. Yes there have been a couple who died but that is to be expected even with isolation.

You can't keep people locked up forever and absent a vaccine, you need to isolate the most vulnerable part of the population (those infirmed, with health issues and the elderly) and let the disease run it's course.

It's cruel but that is the way it will play out.

by Anonymousreply 6July 7, 2020 11:59 PM

Thanks OP.

I made the huge mistake of choosing Lake County NW of Orlando, HUGE mistake, repug central. My house was under contract to be sold in March and got cancelled due to COVID. I did get to keep Buyer's Earnest Money Deposit which was a bit of consolation...

by Anonymousreply 7July 8, 2020 12:01 AM

I have this awful feeling you'll eventually see half a million dead from this in the states. USA! USA! USA!

by Anonymousreply 8July 8, 2020 12:03 AM

Yes, children do get it mildly. Teachers don't.

by Anonymousreply 9July 8, 2020 12:04 AM

R7 - OP again.... OK, nice going on the deposit. You’re entitled to keep it.

You’ll move out of there. It will happen for you. Get the fuck out of that toxic-red wasteland. Good luck.

by Anonymousreply 10July 8, 2020 12:07 AM

Meanwhile 56 hospitals in Florida now have full ICU's with COVID patients and another 10 close to full. What could possibly go wrong?!

by Anonymousreply 11July 8, 2020 2:38 AM

Is opening early a way to keep Coronavirus Relief Funds and not share these funds with the unemployed and sick, or is it a way to get more money or what?

Why are they re-opening against ALL evidence? It has to be money. That’s what motivates these grifters, and it’s obvious that human life means nothing to them, so why risk it all, unless they get something out of it?

by Anonymousreply 12July 8, 2020 2:53 AM

Somewhat off topic. I thought I was the only one using Trumplicker! I don’t feel so all alone now. Thank you, OP!

by Anonymousreply 13July 8, 2020 2:59 AM

"Ohio too. These idiots are going to insure Covid is running rampant and the death toll increases...wait until Flu season kicks in."

In Ohio, the type of school day is determined by each individual district, not a state mandate. I'm sure all of the states will follow a similar model as Ohio's.

Covid will rip through school within the first month

by Anonymousreply 15July 8, 2020 3:17 AM

Opening schools without a plan for almost constant testing is just ridiculous

Opening schools without a plan for almost constant testing is just ridiculous

by Anonymousreply 17July 8, 2020 3:18 AM

Florida will be an even bigger shitshow by next month. Teachers and parents will be protesting DeSantis/Betsy's bullshit by late August.

by Anonymousreply 18July 8, 2020 3:20 AM

Kids need to get back into school. Distance learning has been a failure for many.

by Anonymousreply 19July 8, 2020 6:52 PM

Fuck You r19. You are either a troll or a completely ignorant piece of shit.

by Anonymousreply 20July 8, 2020 6:54 PM

Kids deserve an education, in school.

by Anonymousreply 21July 8, 2020 6:59 PM

I can’t believe it’s already about to be back to school season. Summer is too short.

Fuck DeSantis and the GOP for willingly putting people’s lives in danger.

by Anonymousreply 22July 8, 2020 7:00 PM

Not at the expense of risking their lives and those of their families. You want schools open ?, then demand Trump and the GOP do whats right and get Covid under control. It is DIRECTLY their fault. The mess we are in now is DIRECTLY THEIR FAULT. THIS ENTIRE MESS IS DIRECTLY THEIR FAULT.

by Anonymousreply 23July 8, 2020 7:02 PM

CHAOS REIGNS!

by Anonymousreply 24July 8, 2020 7:02 PM

Well, R19 is correct - it's been proven many times that distance learning is a disaster (especially for underprivileged kids) and children lose skills they had previously mastered when they have to learn from home. There's no substitute for a school environment. Moreover, how many parents can work from home and oversee their kids' education at the same time? And what about parents who can't work from home? It's critical that schools reopen.

But at this point it's impossible. There's no way you can send kids back to school unless you've shut down the virus. DeSantis et al are insane.

by Anonymousreply 25July 8, 2020 7:03 PM

Preach R23...there will be no teachers left kids are little petri dishes!

by Anonymousreply 26July 8, 2020 7:19 PM

It's DeSatan FIFY

by Anonymousreply 27July 8, 2020 7:20 PM

Why dont the reopen the school posters list 1 or 2 of their minor relatives they are willing to sacrifice for Trump ?

by Anonymousreply 28July 8, 2020 9:32 PM

A lot of dead grandmas and grandpas coming soon to FL!

by Anonymousreply 29July 8, 2020 9:40 PM

CEO of largest hospital system in Florida, Advent, is on Face The Nation agreeing with the opening of Disney and saying all is well and they are so very prepared. I forgot his name, I shall call him DeSantis Jr.

There is an Advent hospital a stone's throw from me, I've been there, they are all about Jesus so I guess they are relying on divine intervention to save Grandma and Grandpa.

by Anonymousreply 30July 12, 2020 3:14 PM

As the name implies, AdventHeath is owned by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

by Anonymousreply 31July 12, 2020 3:21 PM

I think some deplorables have this mindset:

(1) my kid(s) get it symptom-free and bring it home, (2) I get and shake it off, (3) my parents catch it and perhaps die from it --> I get my inheritance quicker.

It's God's will .. as will Trump getting his ass whipped in the next election.

by Anonymousreply 32July 12, 2020 3:29 PM

[quote]It's DeSatan FIFY

Someone said on TV yesterday that his new name after this will be "Ron Disastrous."

by Anonymousreply 33July 12, 2020 3:30 PM

Just wait til all those kids start bringing covid home.

by Anonymousreply 34July 12, 2020 3:40 PM

Good. I’m sick of them annoying me on planes. When kids start dying maybe adults will learn a lesson.
