Olivia Wilde
What do you think of her? Any gossip?
The fairly recent "Richard Jewell" controversy was kind of interesting. I don't think she planning on milking her involvement in the movie. It was all about Eastwood and Hauser. When the controversy first hit, she ignored it, then asked "can we get back to Booksmart?" She was forced to make a (tone-deaf) statement/defense. Then she sort of backtracked and tried to have it both ways. Also, according to Kathy Scruggs' family, friends and colleagues, Olivia lied about contacting them during her "research."

Doesn’t she have a Weinstein’s connection?

Overrated hack of a director.

R1 she's a Harvey's Girl.
One of his accusers said that in order to demonstrate his power and influence to her, he randomly called up Olivia Wilde and suggested she participate in a threesome with him and another girl. She (Olivia) happily obliged.
These Hollywood whores must have iron stomachs...

Wilde is capable as an actress, not particularly memorable but not embarrassing. She will probably do more work as a director as time goes by. Regarding Kathy Scruggs, even Scruggs friends describe her as hard drinking, wild, and dependent on prescription drugs. She once got so inebriated she was confronted by police for being drunk and completely unclothed while refusing to get out of a taxi. She was apparently very popular with law enforcement. I've no clue if she slept with sources but this idea that she was such a straight laced demure professional that the idea was impossible is ludicrous. At best Scruggs was a lousy journalist who was way too close to authorities to be unbiased. Putting an implied sexual favor in the film was unwise. But all her journalistic colleagues high minded complaints over the film struck me as a distraction from the real issue of their own misconduct (and law enforcements ).

I loved Booksmart. I thought she did a great job with it.

Just another pretty person with minimal talent. She was dead weight on “House,” and “Booksmart,” while a decent film, is a note-for-note knock-off of the far superior “Superbad.” Wonder how Sudeikis feels about getting Harvey’s sloppy seconds?

R10 and before him she was married to a literal (albeit minor) Italian prince.
However all that gets cancelled out by fucking that ogre Weinstein. Imagine how long she had to gargle with Listerine to get the taste and smell of his Fournier's gangrene out of her mouth.

I liked “Booksmart” too. Wilde is low-key and well-liked in her industry. I personally don’t give a shit if she fucked Weinstein 15 years ago or whatever.

She’s a beauty, that’s for sure. To me, Wilde has always recalled 60s Euro-stunner Marisa Mell.

From a 2015 Gawker article, "Tell Us What You Know About Harvey Weinstein's "Open Secret":
[quote]A New York-based tabloid journalist told me recently that a model friend of his encountered Weinstein at a North American film festival a few years ago. According to her story, Weinstein told her that if she wanted to act, she should come to his office—at which point he proposed a threesome between the two of them and Olivia Wilde. (The model declined both the threesome and the meeting, and, fearing retribution from the famously vindictive Weinstein, has so far declined to go on the record with the story.)

She barely knew Jason Sudekis and all a sudden she married and had kids with him. It smacks of a business decision. Very similar to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

She worked for legendary casting director Mali Finn back in the day. She said Finn told her to be "hotter" if she wanted to make it in Hollywood. She was stunned this supposed feminist had told her that. Olivia Wilde claims it took her 10 years to understand what Finn meant. That would have been around the same she starred in that Harvey Weinstein produced movie "Butter." Olivia was really tight with Harvey during that movie's festival run and after. Just a theory.

BOOKSMART was cute and energetic, but the fact that it was high school girls goin' wild vs high school boys goin' wild was not nearly as "stunning and brave" as some critics would have you believe. Or original.

There are two gossip columnists that post on DL. I wonder how much they know about Wilde's involvement with Weinstein. Harvey used to hang out with her watching basketball games. Her name was mentioned when Weinstein wanted to have a threesome with an actress including Wilde.

I think most people are biased reviewing her in hindsight to ever be objective.
women tend to hate her because she reminds them of Angie, and of course, that means they're team Jen, so their opinions are automatically invalidated.
However, she's a well-known working-addict with a penchant for the less than usual drugs... the question has long been is she depersonalized and self-medicating or self medicating to become depersonalized. Many side with the latter. . . as she's uncomfortable with strong emotions in any direction and getting back to some of her rumoured drug choices.
The cynics might say it's because she's afraid of ruining her botox but it's become rather common of a certain class of actors that continue to be forced on the public... often suffering from a bad case of influentia but also, those having serious suspected psychiatric problems... but the state of mental health being what it is even the well to do have little in the way of resources and also, like the public instead handed a fistful of drugs that they're trusted to take. let alone issues in an industry that looks away while celebs made up of other nutters form a protective and enabling wall . The only time it's brought up is as an excuse in their deaths, the rarer guilty charge or when they've exhausted all their professional connections and write a memoir, and to which the majority of the public ends up deifying them once again.
Or perhaps, it's just the realities of someone that lives in the industry bubble and lacks any real world perspective. . . there's far more of that lot, though yes, many of them do have psychiatric and/or addiction issues. Virtually every part of the industry on earth has complained of the problems of it's lines being more polluted than most royal families and the need of new blood from the common rabble.
