I used to laugh when Slee's troll son would shout at her to throw him down a box of Sunsweet in the basement (where he lives)

She almost wore another kind of mask when Ursula Blackwell and my grandson Jaime plotted to kill her by putting her in an electric chair! It was only through my wisdom that she was saved!

Elizabeth dear, that was 31 years ago this summer!!!! This 11 year old thought it was ingenious to have all of Statesville escape letting us see our favorite lunatics again.
You were so imperious for a common criminal!!!!!
I still remember Ursulla's chant!
DEATH TO TINA ROBERTS! DEATH TO TINA ROBERTS!!!!!!!!!!
Tina survived a falling chandelier AND the electric chair that summer.

Nobody could sniff in judgment like Elizabeth Sanders. I wonder how her and Geraldine Saxon would have gotten on.....

I love watching old KIbbee on Youtube/ OLTL. What an old biddy! I loved that she was this villainess who was an old biddy. One of OLTL's under appreciated greats!
She had great chemistry with ALL actors- and I would have loved to see more of her and the wonderful Phil Carey. They were PERFECT together.
And totally off the rails, but I loved when Carey would bare his teeth like an animal and say HESS-AH!!!!!
(Carlo Hesser)
He should have at least been nominated for an Emmy.

Ole' Asa didn't just have "Liz" as he liked to call her with disgust, but Euphemia ("That bitch in a turban!") Ralston, Delilah's mother, and thus briefly his and Bo's mother-in-law, played by the fabulous Grayson Hall. I always thought it was Euphemia who arranged for Asa's yacht to explode. Asa also had the lucious Lucinda Schenck, Mimi's mother, played by that dahling redhead, Arlene Dahl.... From what I recall, Lucinda didn't care for Becky Lee, and at one point, Tina didn't either.

R13- Bitch, I am digging you- You must have been around in that 80-84 era. I did not watch until I was 8 in the summer of 86 with my grandparents (best times EVER). It was the summer of Mitch and his cult!!!
That era of OLTL - 81-84- seems VERY hokey and old fashioned to me- Even seeing old Guiding Light clips (that show seemed amazing)
WHAT THE FUCK was OLTL then? It seemed staid, stodgy, mature. and "old".... But comforting... Always wonderful characters played by great actors. But it seemed very old fashioned.

I loved Elizabeth Sanders. And didn't Louise Sorel do a stint as her daughter in law Judith? They were a hoot to watch in that story and I kinda had a thing for the actor that played Jamie. He was cute. One Life also did old lady villain with Du Ann Demerest who was also delicious in her role.

R15~ I was just thinking of Du Ann!!!! I think she was killed on the 4th of July 1991!!!!!!!!!!!! (By Julia Medina in the Buchanan barn!)
29 fucking years!! How can this be possible!!!???
I am 43- I don't know how this can be that long ago..

Poster of the Elizabeth Sanders references. I was watching her as the tough but basically kind Geraldine Saxon on "Edge of Night" with a lot of future "OLTL" actors I am from the original "Karen" days....Karen on the witness stand, Karen with Ivan Kipling in the jungle, Karen switching the baby..... I also saw Lois Kibbee when I was a teenager on the big screen in "Caddyshack". I am 57 years old now, and those were fabulous years to be growing up with the music and movies and fashions, although I never had a mullet.....
I remember when Chita Rivera guest-starred as a madame who knew Asa, and probably knew Renee too.....

I don't know why Louise Sorel didn't like Judith. She claimed that she had no humor, but re-runs show that she did. Maybe not eccentric like Augusta or nuts like Vivian, but she was a great character, and Marcia Cross really seemed like she could have been Louise's daughter more than Peter Brown's daughter. The Elizabeth/Judith relationship was very similar to Minx and Augusta. Louise had better chemistry with Nicolas Coster on "OLTL" than either Peter Brown or Anthony Call whom she was paired with. Both Nicolas and "SB" sister Nancy Grahn had been on "OLTL" before Louise joined. Nancy's character of Beverly was involved with Marco so she probably shared scenes with Andrea Evans.

"OLTL" had great older characters during the early 80's, but then a good percentage of the shows did. Sisters-in-law Anna and Wanda Wolek, Ina Hopkins, Sadie Gray.... Lillian Hayman as Sadie was the only black matriarch on daytime TV, and was pretty much involved with every character on the show up until the mid 80's. She also sang at pretty much every wedding or funeral (along with Becky Lee), and crossed over to "AMC" as well. Marilyn Chris as Wanda was the equivalent to Ruby on "GH", and wasn't afraid to tell off the rich, from Dorian to Asa and even Vicki.... Sally Gracie as Ina was like your old drunk aunt that the kids hung around to hear her slur her words.

Louise Sorel left OLTL because she had been fucking Paul Rauch and when that went bad she wanted out, like yesterday. And she went back to SB, I think.

Would love any insight on the 81-84 OLTL. It escapes me. It seems INCREDIBLY old fashioned, in a very comforting way.. I can see why GL did so well in 84-85- It was REALLY good.... OLTL in 1984 vs. 86 is like NIGHT and DAY... Its insane.

The return of Tina really brought the show back to good plotlines after a year of weak stories involving the O'Neill family. Of course it was Kelli Maroney from "Ryan's Hope" who first brought back Tina as Andrea was wrapping up her role as Patty on "Y&R". I don't know why they just didn't wait. The show was good up until the end of the Echo DiSavoy story (Kim was hot then!), then sank. Too many short-term characters that just didn't pan out, far too many actors playing poor Danny Wolek, and too many vet's leaving.

R22- MORE!!!! It seemed like some 50's movie from clips I have seen!
I love that!!!!
Andrea Evans WAS OLTL to me from 86-90, and Slezak, Hutchison, Tuck, and even slightly, Jensen Buchanan.
