Jeffrey Osbourne

Greatly underappreciated singer. What's your favorite hit of his?

Did he have more than one?

Come again, r1?

Thanks, OP!

Jeffrey Osborne created solid, memorable hits for over a decade as lead voice of LTD and then as a solo artist. He is completely unheralded when you consider how much you still hear his music.

I love his stuff with LTD and his solo stuff. Many classics.

LTD: Back In Love Again, Love Ballad, Holding On (When Love is Gone)

Solo: Baby Stay With Me Tonight, You Should Be Mine, Plane Love, We’re Going All The Way, On The Wings of Love, Love Power (duet w/Dionne Warwick)

All is songs are basically the same song

I never understood why Jeffrey Osborne remained so underrated. His voice is amazing and he was handsome. Holding On is one my pick me up songs.

On The Wings of Love is probably his most recognizable hit.

Unsung should definitely profile him.

Stay With Me Tonight — great song

I was underwhelmed by most of his solo stuff....just not great material, that generic 80s stuff.

But I loved his vocals on Love Ballad, for sure.

"On the Wings of Love" is a great tune, the kind that can get stuck in your head for days. I love the scene on "The Office" where Pam sung it at the funeral for the bird that crashed into Michael's window, accompanied by Dwight on recorder.

I was shocked to see him in concert and one of his background singers, Joseph Williams stole the show from him. Williams is the son of John and was runner up to Sam Harris on Star Search. You can briefly see him on this video and you can also tell Osbourne could NOT dance.

Williams also became lead singer in Toto

Another vote for "Stay with Me Tonight" here, though I also really like "The Borderlines" and "On the Wings of Love."

Jeffrey doesn't appear to be family, but I love the DL-style ghey references in OP's video: Asian gf, sassy dancer boys. I blasted that tune back in the day.

He did lead vocals on a really great remake of The Spinners classic “I’ll Be Around.”
