I tried one called Baby Feet and it did work. I try not to think about the harsh chemicals it must use to get your skin to slough off like that.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | July 2, 2020 3:35 AM |
Yes, it does work. I've used Tony Moly's.
And they aren't harsh chemicals; they're some mild acids (lactic, glycolic, salicylic) that separate dead skin from live skin.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 2, 2020 3:44 AM |
Is it for feet only? Or if you have caveman skin like I do, can it be used on legs and arms too?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 2, 2020 3:48 AM |
Yes, they work. I made the mistake the first time to do it in summer not thinking about how nasty that would look once peeling and wearing sandals. This year I did it before the warm weather started.

by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 2, 2020 4:08 AM |
I use it all the time. R5, it takes about a week. Budget yourself that much time just to on the safe side. It's been great through all this while the pedicure place has been closed.

She said it was utterly repulsive and completely fascinating.

R12 not at all
I used the Dr. Pedicure from amazon - works great. It takes a few days before your feet even begin to peel. Once they do, lots of peeling for at least a week, maybe two.

Do you "help it along" ? Or are you supposed to let it alone while it sloughs off? I am a "picker" by nature, so it would be impossible for me not to rip at the peels. I don't want my cave feet to get infected though. Mary! I know, but this seems too good to be true, and the last place I want to end up for any reason right now is urgent care, especially for going too far in a peeling frenzy.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | July 2, 2020 12:03 PM |
R20 your feet will not become infected if you don't mess with it. It's just basically the same OTC stuff like Salicylic acid in Dr. Scholl's products - but it's a nice gel pack in which your feet soak. Do not pick at the resulting skin flakes. Do not help it along, MARY. Your post made me laugh, but keep your filthy hands off of your cave feet while this peeling is happening.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 2, 2020 12:06 PM |
You can clip off dead skin that is no longer attached to your body. But you must not try pulling it off. There will come a point where the dead skin is connected to skin that is not dead. Living skin. Obviously, you do not want to pull living skin of your body.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | July 2, 2020 12:32 PM |
I just do a vinegar soak once or twice a year. It pulls all the crap off the toenails as well. It works better when I can get to the beach more. Nothing seems to do my feet more good than a couple of days in the salt and sand.

The new fresh skin that comes to the fore feels great, R24. There is a remarkable difference between the 'before' and the 'after.'
I would do it more often, but for the lengthy peeling process. It is off-putting. If you have a regular partner for sex who knows about the foot peel, that will help. But Baby Feet and Grindr are not a good match.

by Anonymous | reply 44 | July 2, 2020 11:28 PM |
R43, it at all brutal. It barely stings, actually.
Here’s how I prep for it:
1) I use Arnica gel on my face before bedtime, for 2 weeks prior to the peel. Arnica reduces redness and bruising. Use it as an eye gel every night, and it will rid you of dark circles under your eyes, FYI.
2) Sometimes, not always, I put lidocaine on my face an hour before the mask/peel.
3) I crush 2 aspirin in a glass, and add water, in order to brush it on my face if I don’t have the arnica.
4) I do the peel, by brushing it onto my face. I wait 5 minutes, then I rinse it off thoroughly yet gently. Never, ever, put it on your mouth or under your eyes, btw.
5) Once completed, I again, slather on the arnica gel or crushed aspirin, and I use it for a couple of days afterwards. Then the peeling starts to kick in.
6) The peeling lasts for about a week. It’s not as hideous as it could be, because of the arnica.
This is the same thing that many dermatologists do, except way less expensive and just as effective.
I do it once every 3 months. Highly recommend!

Just make sure you don't have any cuts or other dings on your feet before you do it, it'll sting.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 8, 2020 2:35 AM |
Yes it works, it’s not chemical, it’s natural acids.
The longer you soak, every day, the faster the process starts, but still takes a good week to ten days till your feet are free of peeling skin.
I usually do one, maybe two, a year, and took advantage of quarantine to do one.

R59, it's best to wear socks as much as possible during the peeling/sloughing stage. It'll keep your house cleaner, obviously. Turn them inside-out and shake before laundering. Wearing socks also helps you avoid peeling the skin manually.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | July 8, 2020 6:54 PM |
My favorite is Baby Foot. It's more expensive than some of the other peels, but it works well, the plastic boots are durable and fit a man's feet, and they come with tape to close up the boots. Also, the treatment is a gel that gets onto your feet nicely.
The last one I used - a month ago - called Dream Feet Exfoliating Foot Mask worked okay, but I'd rather use Baby Foot. The Dream Feet treatment was a liquid and it didn't seem to cover my feet thoroughly. The booties were way too small and they ripped down the middle of the top when I tried to get my feet in. My feet are only size 10, so not huge. There apparently are made for small lady feet. They also don't come with tape, which is helpful.
For scale, the foot and ankle in this picture must belong to a woman who has the body of a 10 year old.

Baby Foot has a men's size. They're the only ones I've been able to stuff my feet into without splitting the seam.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | July 11, 2020 12:33 AM |
My feet are 9.5 Extra Wide (U.S.), and the regular Baby Foot fit okay (I suppose this is the women's version, but it doesn't say so). If your feet are larger than 10, go for the men's version in R70. Probably the same formulation, just in larger booties and more gel for the increased surface area.
[quote] Please can someone post links to good, affordable ones? I'd love to try!
R69, try the Dream Feet Exfoliating Foot Mask that I mentioned above. It works well as long as your feet aren't too big for the plastic booties. I do prefer Baby Foot however for ease of use. Neither is terribly expensive. The difference in the Before and After is very noticeable. It's worth trying at least once, especially in summer. Your dates will love you for it.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | July 11, 2020 12:42 AM |
After your feet are finished peeling and are smooth, how long does it take before they start getting crusty again?
by Anonymous | reply 72 | July 11, 2020 1:09 AM |
I did it once about 45 years ago. Back then you got a pill you put into a pail of water that turned the water deep purple. You soaked your feet in the water for a while and then dried them off. In a few days the skin on your feet just started coming off in sheets.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | July 11, 2020 1:13 AM |
R72, depends on how rough you are on your feet (pun intended). If you walk barefoot on sidewalks all day, they'll get rough in a couple of weeks. If you're gentle on them, wear socks sometimes, and/or keep up with smoothing them with a pumice or emery board, they should be okay through the summer. My feet are fairly rough and I like to be barefoot, so I do a foot peel twice per summer.

Does the vinegar bath also make calluses come off?
by Anonymous | reply 85 | July 13, 2020 12:44 AM |
R85, it hasn't in my case. I soaked my feet for about 15 minutes and I could feel the vinegar stinging, so I was done. I have terrible calluses that I try to use a Pedi-Egg for, but they come right back. (I also walk barefoot around my tiled condo, which doesn't help.) I'll be very interested to see how the foot masks work.

by Anonymous | reply 97 | July 13, 2020 4:42 PM |
Take your time, fellas.
You could speed up the peeling by increasing the strength of the acid used. The stronger the acid, the faster the skin comes off. But is that what you want?
Perhaps you REALLY want it to come off painlessly and safely and productively.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | July 13, 2020 4:45 PM |
Very slight peeling for me so far (just the beginning stages). I will try soaking later tonight to see if that helps the process along. I don't really like being barefoot and normally wear socks most of the time, so hopefully most of the peeling will be contained in my socks.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | July 13, 2020 4:56 PM |
The peeling really does take about a week to start. It'll look like nothing is happen for the first few days, other than you may still be able to feel the tingling sensation of the gel on your feet (although I don't know if that's only in my head).
I have never soaked my feet in water daily between applying the peel and the peeling starting, and my skin has peeled off completely. I'll do the daily soak after my next peel, and I'm curious to see how it helps the process.
I don't think these peels are a solution for severe calluses, guys. Perhaps start with a peel to get the initial layer or two off, and then I assume you'd have to shave them down or spot-apply another product.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | July 13, 2020 6:22 PM |
Once it starts peeling, soak your feet in the tub each day and scrub the peely bits with a washcloth. This will help you leave fewer deposits of dead skin around the house.
by Anonymous | reply 101 | July 13, 2020 7:26 PM |
R77 don't be surprised if you don't see noticeable results/massive peeling. I've used the other brands before and nothing works as well as BabyFoot.
And you won't start noticing peeling for at least a couple of days from when you did your peel, more likely 3-4 days.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | July 13, 2020 7:29 PM |
The spinning foot thingy at R38 works really well for getting rid of rough spots or calluses. It would probably be a good way to keep feet smooth after a peel too.

Like any other beauty treatment, one application isn't going to fix your dry, crusty feet. You have do add foot peels to your monthly maintenance. Unless you live at the beach or get regular pedicures, your feet need exfoliation.

Update: I've started to peel a LOT more and it's only been 72 hours since I began the process. I did soak my feet this evening and it definitely accelerated the peeling some. It's messy and somewhat awkward having a combination of new and old skin. I hope the peeling wraps up by the end of this week, although some report it taking up to two weeks (yikes!). My feet weren't all that bad to begin with so I'm hoping it won't extend into next week.

I’ve tried a few times a Korean foot peeling mask called “Oh K!”. It has worked really well for me. Your feet will start to peel within 3-4 days, and it will last for about a week. Your feet will look beyond disgusting, but the end results are worth it. They will be soft and squishy.

I'm on day 7 and still peeling.
by Anonymous | reply 119 | July 18, 2020 3:01 AM |
How long does the peeling last? Where does all that skin go? So gross!

[quote]Where does all that skin go?
Wherever you choose to put it. It's your dead skin.

It goes into the freezer, R120. It's wonderful low-carb alternative to rice-paper wraps.

😂 r122.

To heck with peeling! This is how I deal with the rough skin and callouses on my gnarly feet:
by Anonymous | reply 124 | July 19, 2020 2:39 AM |
It's been three days for me since I wore the foot masks (actually around 75 hours), and still nothing. But I have tons of callouses and my feet have been gross for the last several months. Maybe it takes longer for more dead skin? I can feel a tingle in my feet, but no skin peeling. What's the longest someone's gone before the skin begins shedding?
by Anonymous | reply 125 | July 20, 2020 5:51 AM |
It can take a week. If you've never done it before, it may take a second treatment for "full" results...I'd wait a month or two before doing so.

[quote]How long does the peeling last? Where does all that skin go? So gross!
My husband said that to me, too. My reply was, "The only thing grosser is having all that dead skin ON you and carting it around all day."
by Anonymous | reply 127 | July 20, 2020 6:13 AM |
R125 - It may take a full week for the peeling to begin, especially on the thicker skin. You might notice peeling on your ankles and the softer, thinner skin on the top of your foot first. If you kept the foot peel on for the full time as instructed, you should definitely see peeling in a few days.
The only time I got no results was when I used a Baby Foot peel that I bought a year earlier. I didn't know that it might become ineffective over time.
The peeling is actually more like flaking. The skin will come off mostly in little pieces because of all of the creases in your feet. It won't come off in large strips like a sunburn can.
by Anonymous | reply 128 | July 20, 2020 8:55 PM |
R128, thanks. Still no peeling, but I'll be patient. On day 4 here.
by Anonymous | reply 129 | July 20, 2020 9:44 PM |
Today marked the 7th day since I used the peel and nothing has happened.
by Anonymous | reply 130 | July 20, 2020 9:54 PM |
Have you been soaking your feet daily?
by Anonymous | reply 131 | July 20, 2020 10:01 PM |
Yes R131. I used the Dr Pedicure and never will again. I used the Baby Foot over a year ago and it worked really great, but the results didn't last long. I'm thinking of buying the Amope Pedi.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | July 20, 2020 10:13 PM |
I used it too and nothing happened. But I suppose it's because I'm attractive and fit.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | July 20, 2020 10:24 PM |
That's right, R133. Nothing good ever happens to men who are attractive and fit.
by Anonymous | reply 134 | July 20, 2020 11:46 PM |
I've had really good luck with the peel I purchased from Amazon thus far (I carefully read reviews and ended up choosing the one linked in my original post). I've been pretty much peeling since day 3 and now I'm on day 10 and the peeling is lessening. It's been very messy, but the results seem worth it. My feet weren't bad at all to begin with and I didn't really have deep callouses. I also rarely go barefoot, so maybe my results are better because I didn't have as much dry/dead skin to begin with.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | July 21, 2020 2:03 AM |
Day 7 of mine, and no noticeable peeling. I got the cheap kind, so I'll try the Baby Foot ones next time.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | July 24, 2020 12:25 AM |
I just use a pumice stone in the shower every other day at the end of the shower and put petroleum jelly on my feet and socks 2 times a week. Simple.
by Anonymous | reply 137 | July 24, 2020 12:37 AM |
I ordered a foot peel from Amazon, thanks to this thread and it should be here on Saturday.
by Anonymous | reply 138 | July 24, 2020 1:49 AM |
Pay attention to R137. NO WHERE does he complain about sheets of peeling skin floating around his home. That's important.
His foot regimen makes good sense. Baby Foot? Not so much. Gimmick!
by Anonymous | reply 139 | July 24, 2020 5:13 AM |
Pumice doesn't do shit! Petroleum jelly is toxic! Baby Foot is the real deal!
by Anonymous | reply 140 | July 24, 2020 5:15 AM |
This is making me nauseous! What kind of ill kept feet do you have that an occasional swipe with a Dr Schools foot file won't correct? The whole peeling of the foot skin is disgusting! A frau
by Anonymous | reply 141 | July 24, 2020 9:08 AM |
Those sanding emery boards for pedicures WORK. I love them so much I have a nice steel one I keep i. my shower, you just remove the sand paper every so often and replace. Nothing works better. I tried Baby Feet and never got a peel, but maybe it was just a bad box, I would definitely try again.
My skin just doesn’t exfoliate naturally at all. It’s awful.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | August 14, 2020 4:41 PM |
babyfeet works but takes several days...............
by Anonymous | reply 143 | August 14, 2020 4:42 PM |
Is that gel the same they use during a pedicure? They leave it on a few minutes and they don’t let our feet touch anything, in fact they put on gloves and use plastic to keep our feet off the chair.
One time I touched a part of my toe that had the gel and the guy looked at me like he was going to do what the monsters did in Monsters Inc, when that poor dude accidentally touched a human! He looked panicked!
It can’t be that toxic if they’re putting it on your fucking feet!
Won’t try it, sorry.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | August 14, 2020 8:25 PM |
r144, it's more likely this stuff. I got this instead because the peels are fun but dont actually get deep enough on my ball of foot/heel, just tge edges. I put this in for 10 minutes, rinse and use a foot cheese grater for a minute and boom, down to pink skin.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | August 14, 2020 9:26 PM |
Someone suggested covering your feet in plastic wrap after you put the gel on R145 to keep it from drying. Have you had any problems with it drying out before the 10 minutes are up?
by Anonymous | reply 146 | August 14, 2020 9:38 PM |
Supposedly some calluses are supposed to be left alone, R145.
I told the lady who was doing my pedicure about a callus I had on the side of my big toe and she said she needed to leave it alone. Apparently I walk on this particular callus and it would cause problems for me. 🤔
by Anonymous | reply 147 | August 14, 2020 9:45 PM |
r146, that would certainly be an option. I sat my naked ass on the edge of the tub and just let my feet sit on the bottom of the tub. no drying out, it's the texture and consistency of vegetable glycerine (or, clear snot). I rinsed my feet but it really clung to my feet (not in a bad way) and I was more worried about slip and falling once I stood up in the tub as it also coated the tub where my feet had touched.
r147, I hear you but also, I walk a lot, I am fat and I wore stilettos for 25 years. I want peeled pink feet as pink as when I use the corn razor blade removal thing. For literally no reason at except I am stubborn :) I would slice that callus off your toe toot sweet!
by Anonymous | reply 148 | August 14, 2020 10:05 PM |
The stuff they use for pedicures has potassium hydroxide as the main ingredient, it is caustic. You can buy the salon version on Amazon (“Callus Eliminator”) . You do need to follow up with a pumice stone or callus shaver.
So the foot peel—Pure Derm—has lactic acid, urea, glycolic acid as the main ingredients but no % given. I did all the recommended stuff like soaking feet before using, wearing twice as long as recommended, soaking feet every night for five or so nights. Yeah, I peeled: the arch of my foot, the side of my heel, the tops of my toes. Not places which get a lot of callus. The bottom of my heels, I’d say a layer came off but there’s still plenty more that needs to be removed. I’ve got dry skin and I walk everywhere. I don’t remember having having calluses when I was a teenager walking barefoot all summer. I assume that all the glowing reviews for baby soft feet are from young people. Anyone over 40 should cut to the chase and use a shaver.

I’m reporting back— I tried a baby foot peel I ordered from amazon two months ago and nothing. No peeling or anything. I had done a foot peel years ago and this was nothing like I remembered. This week I grabbed one from Target and two days later and my feet are already peeling. The one from amazon must have been old or ineffective from sitting in a hot warehouse!
by Anonymous | reply 150 | September 8, 2020 2:38 PM |
Just rub a couple of lemons on your feet. It costs 79 cents.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | September 8, 2020 2:49 PM |
I've been wanting to try these, but I'm afraid to because I'm diabetic. My diabetes is well under control now and my doctor took me off my medication for it. She told me to definitely not use anything like a pumice stone, and to meet with a podiatrist.
I just have one annoying callous on my right foot that I want to get rid of, otherwise my feet look and feel fine. I go for walks pretty much every day, weather permitting, that's when I started getting this.

I have a recommendation. Amlactin Rapid Relief Lotion. Can be purchased online or in some drugstores. I swear by this. I have a mild case of icthyosis - flaking, dry skin. I would never waste time on a foot peel. However I have never allowed my feet to get to the condition that the fat guy on the right in the video did. Peel is too much time. The Amlactin is around $14 for a 7.9 oz. bottle, but worth every penny. I have had to do this exfoliating my whole life and many people think I am 20 years younger than I am. I am sure it is due to constant exfoliating. I even use it on my face, which also flakes. Getting a bit of a sun tan also helps.

Frankly these foot peels sound dangerous. Are they FDA approved. Anything that is so toxic that pedicurists wear protective gear makes me pause. Also not good to compromise your skin while COVID is still around.
by Anonymous | reply 154 | April 28, 2021 11:15 PM |
I now have to try one, bitches!

What crap? I don’t have any crap on my toenails. That sounds disgusting.
by Anonymous | reply 156 | April 29, 2021 12:17 AM |
One can do this with a 10-minute soak-'n'-slough.
A week?
Please.
by Anonymous | reply 157 | April 29, 2021 12:31 AM |
You bitches just inspired me to pull out my callus shaver and microplane. Also bookmarked a bunch of stuff to buy!
by Anonymous | reply 158 | April 29, 2021 1:51 AM |
i use the Microplane device and it's amazing how much dead skin it shaves off. It's similar to the Pedi-egg. But you need to be careful and make sure you're buying a real one. Ordered a 2nd one from amazon and it was counterfeit

I got the linked, it has quickly moved into my top 10 rechargeable electronic devices
by Anonymous | reply 160 | July 14, 2021 8:55 PM |
I use the Kocostar Foot Therapy. I usually let it do it’s thing but last time I washed my feet after and used a foot scraper to remove the dead skin. That’s what they do when I get a pedicure treatment. It worked perfectly. I can’t believe how much skin came off my foot! Like someone said, it’s gross and fascinating.
After the scraping I’ll wash my feet, dry it and then use ultra moisturizing lotion. My feet look fantastic!
by Anonymous | reply 161 | July 14, 2021 9:51 PM |
I went full 'fuck this shit' and got a course mushroomhead diamond grinding attachment and rock polishing attachments for my dremel and sit in my empty tub with the shower curtain closed and get pink baby ass smooth feet in under 5 minutes.

R160 - I would like to know what else is on your top-10 list of rechargeable devices.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | February 6, 2022 4:34 AM |
haha, no you wouldn't r163. you know that you wouldn't
by Anonymous | reply 164 | February 6, 2022 4:42 AM |
R162 No offense, dear, but you mentioned upthread that you are fat so was it uncomfortable for you to "sit in my empty tub with the shower curtain closed" and work on your feet? I can barely bend over to trim my toenails!
by Anonymous | reply 165 | February 6, 2022 6:17 AM |
no offense taken r165! If I were ashamed of being fat I would never mention it on here. I am tall for a woman and extremely long waisted. I don't carry my fat in my stomach because I am so long waisted, it's evenly spread out all over my body so I have no problem reaching my toes (occasionally I have a stiff back and need to stretch a bit but I think that's age too).
Also, sometimes I sit in the tub and sometimes it's on the edge of the tub (facing in). Either way the shower curtain is closed.
