Ruth Buchanan, the Dow Chemical heiress who entertained world leaders as the wife of an ambassador and White House chief of protocol and dazzled American society in her own opulent mansions in Washington and Newport, R.I., died on Nov. 18 at her home in Washington. She was 101.
I remember back in the 70's, Ruthie and I would go to Halston's Illuminati Party and watch Nelson Rockefeller snort coke off of Megan Marshak's cootch.

Her grandson is a SF socialite and entrepreneur and current Ambassador to Austria, as was his grandfather.
