Why are people being like this?

Grumbling or even saying something is one thing (though I disagree with any possible argument).

But why this?

And she's not even a rare case....we're seeing a few of these a week now.

America is a very angry and rage filled society. I think some of it is the stress of living in a winner takes all country. You can do very well or very bad, but less and less do you find anything in between. And as far as the epidemic of crazy lady videos, that's probably because people feel emboldened enough to film them. Nobody is going to take the chance of further provoking a 6"2 200 lb man screaming in public.

Things are roiling at the moment, OP.

With the worldwide pandemic, economic concerns and living in uncertainty, fears are bubbling to the surface.

Emotional volubility is not unusual in stressful times. And we are seeing humanity releasing long-held and/or newly acquired emotions,

R1 does have a point. The generalizations that US citizens are expressive holds some validity. But this expression is furthered by observing its current leader as he degrades himself and his office by running roughshod with his “BASE-R” instincts. Since humans are suggestive by nature, some follow suit and feel they have the liberty to also engage their base and shadow aspects projecting them out in public spaces and onto others.

The USA is quite a diverse nation, generalizing again; we’ve not been known to introspect, look deep, and reach towards our highest selves: elevating ourselves and those within our borders.

We’re in a revolutionary period. Not a traditional revolution, but one with opposing ideas, philosophies and yes, sometimes weapons. Not exactly the greatest moments of grace or poise as we fight our own shadow demons.

Ever the optimist, I trust we can work through this period and dig deep to elevate the soul of the country: finding unity amongst our diversity.
