I think this is where OP intended link to go

I think the architectural style they were aiming for is French Chateau/ country house

They missed, by miles

I think they were aiming for French, but clearly the “architect” has never seen a French house. The style is basically Las Vegas casino.

Instantly made me think of the 80s sitcom “The Charmings.”

Wow the interior reminds me of a casino hotel I had to stay in once in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

What the fuck is with the ornate wood canopies placed in the middle of every room?? I have never seen anything like that before.

by Anonymousreply 11June 29, 2020 9:53 PM

R8, yes, its like a drawing of a beautiful traditional home in a classical style but done by a near blind child from a rural Chinese village who had never seen such a thing in real life

I like what I suspect they were aiming to do, I think. Its a pity the missed by so far. There are one or two pieces of furniture and bits of architectural detail scattered here and there I like. And a whole lot I dont. The result is a god awful mish-mash, and it would be a lot of effort to put right, a gut job.

R11. Those gazebos in the middle of those rooms seem like they belong in a maharajah’s palace, just plain bizarre.

French Country, if Eurodisney fits that description.
