I don't understand vegetable oil

I've never seen or smelled or tasted oil in any vegetable. Is this for real?

by Anonymousreply 60July 8, 2020 1:15 AM

Silly goose, you can't taste with your anus.

by Anonymousreply 1June 29, 2020 3:45 AM

Personally, I don't understand beef tallow or why it makes the best French Fries.

by Anonymousreply 2June 29, 2020 3:59 AM

it comes from seeds, dummy

by Anonymousreply 3June 29, 2020 4:02 AM

It seems like vegetable oil should be good for you since it's vegetables, but so many of them are bad for you.

by Anonymousreply 4June 29, 2020 4:06 AM

Seeds? Are you joking?

by Anonymousreply 5June 29, 2020 4:07 AM

Of course seeds what did you think? Leaves?

by Anonymousreply 6June 29, 2020 4:09 AM

Macadamia Seed Oil is pretty good and does well in baking. rice bran oil is good for roast potatoes. Both are vegetable oils.

by Anonymousreply 7June 29, 2020 4:09 AM

Most vegetable oil is just from soybeans, it can be from other vegetables, and yes soybeans are actually seeds, I do hope you know that. As are sunflower oil and even corn is a seed, safflower, sesame etc.

by Anonymousreply 8June 29, 2020 4:10 AM

My anus has impeccable taste.

OP, why must you turn the Datalounge into a house of stupid?

by Anonymousreply 10June 29, 2020 7:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 12June 30, 2020 12:33 AM

I've never seen any oil in my seeds!

by Anonymousreply 13June 30, 2020 12:35 AM

R13 - you will now that you stopped bathing due to the lockdown.

by Anonymousreply 14June 30, 2020 12:42 AM

OP, just how much weed do you smoke daily?

by Anonymousreply 15June 30, 2020 1:23 AM

Replies such as R1 are why I keep coming back to this hellsite.

Love to self fuck my ass

by Anonymousreply 18June 30, 2020 1:38 AM

You aren't making vegetable oil from brocolli florets.

Like others have said it comes from seeds, which do have fat. Mainly from soybeans.

by Anonymousreply 19June 30, 2020 1:39 AM

Unless it's olive oil that has been expeller-pressed, unrefined grapeseed, or coconut oil, they're all POISON. Nut oils, like unrefined peanut, or walnut can be health-promoting, yet Soybean, Canola, an Corn are full of hexane and glyphosate. Palm oil isn't always unhealthy, yet is tinged with issues, both political, and it being considered unsustainable. Environmentalists claim it is bad due to pollution, deforestation, and run-off. Choose wisely.

by Anonymousreply 20June 30, 2020 1:46 AM

Avocado oil or palm oil for me

by Anonymousreply 21June 30, 2020 12:50 PM

Every DL post is a journey.

Does baby oil come from unborn babies?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 27June 30, 2020 2:34 PM

R21 Cheers, I forgot to mention avocodo oil. Very healthy as well. Some claim sunflower and rice bran oil are healthy in moderation if not cooked... only to be used as a drizzle or dressing. I haven't formed an opinion on them, so I avoid them.

by Anonymousreply 28June 30, 2020 2:39 PM

Honestly, OP. SMH

by Anonymousreply 29June 30, 2020 2:41 PM

No, R27, baby oil is made from born babies. The unborn babies are ground up to make the really expensive European “butter” that comes in a big block.

by Anonymousreply 30June 30, 2020 2:41 PM

I don’t get avocado oil. If I squeeze an avocado I just get a green mess. No oil comes out.

by Anonymousreply 31June 30, 2020 3:53 PM

None of the seed I swallow daily has been oily.

by Anonymousreply 32June 30, 2020 3:59 PM

I don't understand motor oil, you can get oil from motors?

by Anonymousreply 33June 30, 2020 4:28 PM

[quote]I don't understand vegetable oil

But I'll bet you understand Crisco.

by Anonymousreply 34June 30, 2020 4:55 PM

Soybeans. Peanuts. Rapeseed.

by Anonymousreply 35June 30, 2020 5:04 PM

But not "rape" rapeseed

by Anonymousreply 36June 30, 2020 5:07 PM

[quote]I don't understand vegetable oil

How could I possibly be more clear OP?

by Anonymousreply 37June 30, 2020 5:12 PM

The only vegetable oil I use is rice bran oil. End of.

by Anonymousreply 38June 30, 2020 5:35 PM

OP The seed cake oil industry would rather you never understood "vegetable oil" else you would cease buying their health-destroying crap.

This is evidenced by how they prefer the term "vegetable oil" over more specific names or proper terms. They invented brand names such as Crisco and Wesson for a reason. Just understand they're not healthy, especially under high heat applications. Some are probably worse than others, some even tantamount to being considered "slow poison".

Stear clear of Canola (Genetically Engineered Rapeseed oil), Soybean, and Corn for starters.

by Anonymousreply 39June 30, 2020 7:40 PM

^steer

by Anonymousreply 40June 30, 2020 7:42 PM

Vegstable oil can really mean anything. There is no scientific evidence that GMO is bad for you, please provide reliable data not something from the Food Babe.

by Anonymousreply 41June 30, 2020 7:46 PM

I almost burned my house down when I got the bright idea to use peanut oil to make french fries.

by Anonymousreply 42June 30, 2020 7:46 PM

Picturing OP squeezing a head of cauliflower, trying to collect that precious “vegetable oil.”

by Anonymousreply 43June 30, 2020 7:47 PM

I love when DLers troll back at OP, who is clearly a troll.

by Anonymousreply 44June 30, 2020 7:50 PM

We use Avocado oil too for sauteing after the corruption of the Olive oil trade and it is virtually the same nutritional profile as olive oil and a bit cheaper.

by Anonymousreply 45June 30, 2020 8:07 PM

rice bran oil- smell you

by Anonymousreply 46June 30, 2020 8:20 PM

[quote]I almost burned my house down when I got the bright idea to use peanut oil to make french fries.

I don't understand this comment at all. Of course no one wants you to die in a grease fire, but why would peanut oil be an issue?

by Anonymousreply 47June 30, 2020 9:33 PM

Unborn babies are only prized for their foreskins anyway. It's a bit of a waste but I've never looked younger!

by Anonymousreply 48June 30, 2020 9:35 PM

Peanut oil is not the issue r47. Peanut oil is actually a great oil for frying stuff as it as a very high smoke point.

That poster screwed up deep frying and is blaming the oil.

by Anonymousreply 49June 30, 2020 9:37 PM

R49 Truth

by Anonymousreply 50June 30, 2020 10:04 PM

R49, R50:

I didn't blame anyone other than myself, you dumb bitches.

Fuck you both.

R47:

Peanut oil has a lower flash point, which I was not expecting.

by Anonymousreply 51July 1, 2020 3:04 PM

Peanut oil has one of the highest flash points of all vegetable oils (canola is slightly higher). So try again.

Just realised that the oat milk dairy substitute I’ve been drinking for a year contains a large percentage of sunflower oil probably washed in hexane. Fuck.

I’m assuming this is the culprit for my stubborn belly fat, fuzzy thinking, GERD/sensations of acidic throat and the disgusting lingering after taste in my mouth.

Probably would have been better off sticking to the cows’ milk pumped with blood and shit and hormones.

Anyone know of a way to detoxify from processed extracted oils? Me and my body will thank you.

Watch this and you'll understand why most oils in foods are bad for you. And they're everywhere. Soybean oil is EVERYWHERE.
