Wow. He's going against 99% of the rest of the media.
She is a great choice
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 28, 2020 1:37 PM |
Most of media won't be satisfied with anyone but a black trans woman.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 28, 2020 1:37 PM |
I like it, she’s a GI, so,thing that scares trump
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 28, 2020 1:39 PM |
I love Tammy but someone claimed in another thread that she has "ethics issues," which is why Joe probably won't choose her, but I don't think ever clarified what those issues are. Is this true? If so, does anyone know what they were talking about?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 28, 2020 1:45 PM |
R7, do you mean claiming she's a woman of color on college and employment applications? Or laughing about putting parents of truants of children in jail as a prosecutor? Or praising "comrade Castro"? Or excusing police abuses of black people as a police chief?
Oh wait...
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 28, 2020 1:52 PM |
99%? Hardly
70 or so maybe
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 28, 2020 1:54 PM |
R1 they'll take it back after her old Castro comments
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 28, 2020 1:55 PM |
Anything/Anyone But Trump 2020.
Uncle Joe can pick a dead hermaphrodite horse as VEEP and I will still vote for him.

R11 - same
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 28, 2020 2:04 PM |
If only someone were perfect and never said anything that could be construed offensive in any way.
Jesus goddam mother fucking christ,. At least Castro apologized for his treatment of homosexuals and admitted he was wrong. When's the last time ANY Republican admitted that they were wrong- ON POLICY and admitted it. Never, that's when.
I would vote for Castro's corpse over Trump.
If someone was responsible, it's me. Goddam, fucking refreshing don'tcha think?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 28, 2020 2:13 PM |
She's said a gazillion times that she doesn't want to do it. I think she'd be a great pick, but if she doesn't want to do it and, fuck, who could really blame her, then she doesn't want to do it. She doesn't strike me as someone who can be pushed around or bribed into being anyone's running mate.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 28, 2020 2:19 PM |
She's horrible, besides BLM said that the VP must be black or they won't support Biden. So he has to pick an African American.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 28, 2020 2:46 PM |
[quote] She's horrible, besides BLM said that the VP must be black or they won't support Biden.
Neither of those statements is true, r15. Wtf do you find “horrible” about Duckworth, anyway?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 28, 2020 2:49 PM |
r15 she's awesome. And if you think BLM, the organization, is a group show respect to, you clearly haven't read the manifesto the the lesbian and her male-identified partner (they consider themselves straight) wrote.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 28, 2020 2:50 PM |
A Veep is considered a potential president, particularly when you have someone as old as Biden. If you think the American electorate would be happy with a President with no legs, you are out of your fucking mind. I am sure she is wonderful in every way, but there isn’t a chance in hell that Biden would win with her on the ticket.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 28, 2020 2:54 PM |
r18, you're gross. Americans, as whole, hold great respect for veterans.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 28, 2020 3:07 PM |
Oh, the “no legs” troll is back. I don’t think most Americans share your obsession with this issue, r18.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 28, 2020 3:09 PM |
Wow, I always respected him as a journalist. He really erred here.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 28, 2020 3:13 PM |
Frank Bruni is always trying to stake a unique position. That’s why I don’t read him.
Tammy Duckworth is my senator. But she’s not my 1st pick for VP. We don’t need anymore reasons to get rid of Trump. Black people deserve to see themselves represented on the ticket.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 28, 2020 3:15 PM |
[quote] If you think the American electorate would be happy with a President with no legs, you are out of your fucking mind.
Or a cripple, a guy who needs to use a wheelchair.
They'd never elect someone like that four times
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 28, 2020 3:16 PM |
A President with no legs is still 100 light years better than a President without a heart like Trump!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 28, 2020 3:19 PM |
It has to be a black woman - there is literally no way it can’t be - mostly because the media would paint it as a horrible miscalculation and run endless stories about how the Democrats fucked up, etc., etc., we don’t need that being a dominating narrative.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 28, 2020 3:22 PM |
I was an early Duckworth supporter for VP... but now I do think the pick needs to be a black woman. But an observation about the pick...any of the potential candidates will be just fine. The momentum to victory won't be derailed.
The only thing now that can stop a Trump defeat is complacency for Dem voters and/or voter suppression by the very skilled Republican operatives.

That black disabled trans lesbian from the Calvin Klein ad should be available soon once the company realizes nobody wants to buy underwear while thinking about that.
He may not be 35, but as long as he IDENTIFIES as 35, that’s all that matters.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 28, 2020 3:26 PM |
I'm sure the Russiapublicans are sifting through the rubbish bins of every black female in Washington. They'll compile a dossier on each of them.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 28, 2020 3:27 PM |
R27 The shelf-life on this trying-too-hard babble is up. It's no longer 2019. Things are moving on. All this racist "anti-pc" (e.g. very prescriptive PC ness) garbled trolling is old and tired.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 28, 2020 3:32 PM |
Frankly, any woman he picks has their work cut out for them come 2024.
Black people are preferring either Warren or Harris as the nominee.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 28, 2020 3:36 PM |
"It has to be a black woman" because...a bunch of Putin-funded homophobes who don't know biology say so?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 28, 2020 3:43 PM |
She’s the BEST choice in my book. I just love her, but I understand the choice of a politician is highly political. I hope she gets a cabinet position though.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 28, 2020 3:56 PM |
Tammy Duckworth is highly qualified.
However, we also have to look at any VP through the lens of Biden's age, knowing they could become president. She has a young child (or two?) and while I don't doubt most jobs in the world can be done by moms, president of the US would be a very, very taxing job,
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 28, 2020 4:05 PM |
"Black people deserve to see themselves represented on the ticket."
No they actually don't
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 28, 2020 4:16 PM |
I like Duckworth. She has a mouth on her, and she won’t back down. Trump doesn’t scare her. We need that kind of feistiness. She’s also a combat vet, so she isn’t scared of anything any Republican can say or do. She named Trump “Bone Spurs.” She’s about the right age.
Having said that, she’s not my Senator. If you’re from her state, what do you think, good and bad? Any deal breakers in there?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 28, 2020 9:58 PM |
He always has gone against the media. He was the last one saying nice things about Mayor Pete after he started doing better than the elitists’ golden goose Elizabeth Warren.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 28, 2020 10:02 PM |
R35 Interesting how things actually are changing... The "Trump doesn't scare her" was an important point even a couple months ago.
At this point, does Trump "scare" anybody? That old loser stumbling on the ramp, walking from the helicopter with his tie undone and makeup on his color.... pathetic, not scary.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 28, 2020 10:03 PM |
I'm getting tired of the "black people deserve the world" thing. I do hope it's Duckworth, and I hope the media has a fit and implodes, so Biden has a better chance of winning. No second try at a "But her emails" by the media now that Tara collapsed.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 29, 2020 4:59 AM |
She was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Is that a problem?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 29, 2020 5:08 AM |
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 30, 2020 4:02 AM |
I'm with him on being with her. She was the first woman I thought of when Biden made his 'my vp will be a woman' statement. I think she's won't get it primarily because the VP has to be ready to assume POTUS' role and the POTUC has to be born in the US -- she was born in Thailand.
[quote] She's horrible, besides BLM said that the VP must be black or they won't support Biden.
And? They don't run Biden's campaign not speak for the larger, more pragmatic pool of black voters.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | June 30, 2020 4:25 AM |
[Quote] the POTUS has to be born in the US
Incorrect. Article 2, Section 1:
[Quote] No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President
"Natural born" includes those born overseas to an American citizen – e.g., John McCain and Ted Cruz.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | June 30, 2020 4:53 AM |
[quote] BLM said that the VP must be black or they won't support Biden.
Okay.
[quote] So he has to pick an African American.
That does not follow at all from the previous statement.
You are seriously deluded if you think that have that much power. They simply do not.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 1, 2020 3:50 AM |
[quote] Black people deserve to see themselves represented on the ticket.
Why? There are more Hispanic Americans in the US than there are African Americans.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | July 1, 2020 3:51 AM |
As noted above she was born in Thailand. While, at least father was a US citizen, this will bring up all kinds of birther nonsense. Might be too risky. Trump and his minions of evil will harp on it constantly to try and deligitimatize her and her possible presidency if Biden passes on in office. After all, Trump endeared himself to his base with the birther crap.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | July 1, 2020 4:41 AM |
I think she'd be the perfect foil for Biden. Not argumentative or out for herself, in any way. She could definitely be to him what he was to Obama.
He'll listen to your problems, cry with you, go about solving what he can for you and she'll track the bastards down who hurt you and punch them in the balls.
As for her having young kids, America is filled with working moms who would adore watching her children grow up and hearing her talk about witk/home life balance. And she has a husband, right? Let's see a Second Husband of the United States re-define masculinity and fatherhood for the younger generations.
If Duckworth is being called to duty by Team Biden, I hope she accepts the challenge.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 1, 2020 5:09 AM |
Who dis bitch? Just pick on of the already vetted broads. Kamala Harris is good enough. This isn't the Miss America contest. We don't need to go through all this bullshit.

Service has shaped Sen. Tammy Duckworth. Is her next post in the White House?
Could another first-term Illinois senator join Joe Biden on the ticket?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 2, 2020 6:41 PM |
No fats, no fems, no asians.
Those are the rules.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 2, 2020 6:44 PM |
R48, I think her military sacrifice will tip the scales among most sane voters, regardless of the absence of consensus among legal scholars. She lost both legs flying a Black Hawk in the Army, and her husband is also a veteran. The Senate passed a resolution for McCain affirming his right to run for president despite being born in Panama. Ted Cruz was born in Canada and won in Iowa.
The cult will jeer, but they'd do the same for any VP Biden selects: "Pocahontas", etc.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 2, 2020 6:45 PM |
I've blocked someone triggered by any Duckworth posts: Is it the "she has no legs" troll or just one of the Bernie cult members?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 2, 2020 6:45 PM |
I want Val Demings or Kamala Harris.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 2, 2020 6:48 PM |

Who are the women whom white male moderates in the Midwest most likely to make a point of going out to vote just to vote against their becoming VP? I think we all know that Duckworth would be near the bottom or the list.
Regardless of what the media try to push, white male Moderates in the Midwest are the key to the election -- not "someone who'll activate young voters and Latinos". Bernie was the savior of the former, and he flopped. Voto Latino's "the Democrats don't speak enough to the Latino community and Latino concerns" thing is old hack and a third of Latinos like Cheeto anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | July 2, 2020 6:56 PM |
bottom *of the list
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 2, 2020 6:57 PM |
I want to see her call out Pence's bullshit at the VP debate: last time, when Kaine called out Pence for lying, Pence would shake his head and feign sadness that Kaine was "saying something that's just not true" and Kaine just kept insisting on his point, rather than getting meta and calling out Pence's "disappointment-at-lies act".
Duckworth won't stand for that shit: she'll call it out, as it "He's shaking his head and acting like he's mourning because he's feigning disappointment at my having supposedly told a lie. This isn't a lie, here are the receipts. So take that fake disappointment and shove it."
by Anonymous | reply 62 | July 2, 2020 7:07 PM |
Rather, when Kaine called out Pence for a particular policy position or statement that Trump made, etc. is when Pence did the "it's so disappointing you're lying, Tim" thing. Fucking HATE that tactic.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | July 2, 2020 7:08 PM |
she'll call it out, as *in
by Anonymous | reply 64 | July 2, 2020 7:10 PM |
FWIW I think Warren would call that shit out too. Not sure about the other contenders.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | July 2, 2020 7:11 PM |
R65, you totally know what I'm talking about right?! I fucking HATED that in the VP debate. And I wish Kaine understood that the key was attacking that particular Pence tactic - not just repeatedly insisting that "Trump said this, and the Republicans want that".
