Wait R8... Wut???

Hank Azaria? The hunky gorgeous Hank Azaria... Getting blown by that troll Richard Kind?? Why would he have subjected himself to that uggo when he could've landed any cute twink or hot hunk he wanted?

Tammy Faye Bakker, when she caught Jim in the locked sauna with young "preacher helpers" at the height of their success. Him fucking around with the young help was one of the main reasons she got hooked on pills.

DL icon Vivian Vance - John Dodds.

Apparently he kept up the lifestyle during their marriage and it was a point of contention between them. He also had a longtime partner in San Francisco, whom he returned to after Viv's death.

On some level, I think she saw a gay man as less threatening, having endured a long-term abusive marriage.

R94 - maybe there are women who get off on having gay husbands? Like they find it erotic or something?

It takes all kinds.

by Anonymousreply 96June 24, 2020 12:58 AM

Um, they usually marry these guys not knowing they're gay.

by Anonymousreply 97June 24, 2020 12:59 AM

R97 - I really don't think all these women were THAT naive. I knew something was up after my first night with my ex and how he avoided the bedroom or weekends like he avoided his ex wife sleeping with him. Later all his co-workers confirmed it but he would gush over Rafa Nadal and even handsome men in paintings at galleries. What's true is that I was 42 so....

by Anonymousreply 98June 24, 2020 1:19 AM

Donna McKechnie and Michael Bennett. Then again she knew he was gay. They worked so wonderfully together and had instant best friend rapport. Maybe early in their friendship in the 60s there may have been some fooling around but I think by the time of A CHORUS LINE, any sexual activity was long gone. And lucky for Donna. I have no doubt they truly loved each other.

by Anonymousreply 107June 24, 2020 10:36 AM

R94, why does this have to be explained over and over?

Women (some women) like some gay men because they share a lot of the same interests. The end.

by Anonymousreply 108June 24, 2020 11:25 AM

R108 - ha ha you will kill me but it is one thing to like, even love someone who can only like or love you like a sister. Women have sexual needs so that just can't work on every level unless the poor guy goes against his instincts and I mean, if you love him, why would you want to torture the poor fellow? I would want any man I cared for to be at one with himself and live happily as he was meant to live. You don't want to make someone you care about unhappy after all.

by Anonymousreply 109June 24, 2020 4:34 PM

R108 - remember how Mary Austin said that because she loved Freddie she was happy to see him become fulfilled living as a gay man? She even said it was wonderful to watch him grow into who he was meant to be.

I am a woman. How do I find a gay male couple who wanna do a threesome? Just to try it once..

by Anonymousreply 128June 25, 2020 5:40 PM

Carson McCullers. Her union with Reeves McCullers was truly a strange one. He was a lot better looking than her and seemed like a normal human being (at least until he hooked up with Carson), whereas she was regarded an an oddball. They married and he held jobs while she worked on her stories and novel. She later became the breadwinner when she became a famous writer. He has aspirations to become a writer too, but it came to nothing. As it turns out they both were gay. Maybe that's why he was attracted to the homely Carson; she dressed in men's clothing had a strong masculine component, declaring 'I was born a man." She had violent "crushes' on other women but it's doubtful she had sex with any of them because her feelings were rarely reciprocated and her sexuality was immature to say the least. She seemed stuck at age 12, the age of her character Frankie Adams in "The Member of the Wedding." As for Reeves he sank more and more into alcoholism (she was a raging alcoholic, too) as she treated him like an servant, an inferior. And he had affairs with men. One of his lovers was Truman Capote. Eventually, Reeves committed suicide; at his funeral Capote moaned "My youth is gone", although he was only 29. Tennessee Williams said Reeves died due to his "great love for Carson (she had left him once again; they'd divorced but remarried)" but I think he died due to being a closeted gay man married to demanding, alcoholic woman. Truman Capote said it "there was nothing wrong with Reeves except Carson."

by Anonymousreply 129June 25, 2020 10:16 PM

R128, no one wants to have a threesome with you. Certainly not gay men, nor straight men who are probably repulsed by you

by Anonymousreply 130June 25, 2020 10:18 PM

by Anonymousreply 131June 25, 2020 11:02 PM
