I think he fathered one of Liz Hurley’s children or something.
Steve Bing commits suicide; leaps to death from Century City skyscraper

That is a mighty old looking 54 year old.

She wishes she could wish away her feelings.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||06/22/2020|
Did he jump off that building or was he pushed by a Mohommedan?
|by Anonymous||reply 11||06/22/2020|
Yes he is the father of Liz's lookalike son. He had very little to no relationship with him however. Still I'm sure they are shocked.
There was recent issue with the family inheritance. Bing's father is very wealthy, and there was issue re having his two children (he has another barely acknowledged daughter by another woman, who lived with Kirk Kerkorian if my memory serves) inherit their portion. I wonder how his death will impact this.

|by Anonymous||reply 13||06/22/2020|
I assume it was the Candy Spelling building
|by Anonymous||reply 14||06/22/2020|
Watch out for that first step - it's a dooo-oooo-zy!
|by Anonymous||reply 15||06/22/2020|
Sorry I was mistaken about padma, she was with Adam dell. iIRC Steve bing never admitted to fathering elizabeth Hurley’s son. It was big gossip in the early 00s.
|by Anonymous||reply 16||06/22/2020|
“Richard Cory went home last night, and put a bullet through his head.”
|by Anonymous||reply 17||06/22/2020|
r18 he first fathered a daughter, Kira, with tennis pro Lisa Bonder. At that time, she lived longterm with billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, and told him he was the dad. Ooops - no. Bing eventually admitted paternity. He always admitted paternity of Hurley's on iirc, just never saw him or was involved with him - although as I posted above, he fought his parents and sister to have both his kids included in the huge family trust, oddly.
|by Anonymous||reply 18||06/22/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 19||06/22/2020|
Padma Lakshmi got pregnant by another family scion - Adam Dell - but tried to pass her daughter off as her much older then bf, Teddy Forstmann. Dell fought a bitter battle in court to get a paternity test, and gain access to the girl, eventually succeeding. People are confusing this situation with the somewhat similar Bing-Kerkorian situation from years earlier.
|by Anonymous||reply 20||06/22/2020|
R12, you are correct about both Liz's son and the Kerkorian connection. I follow both Liz and her (very pretty--looks nothing like his father) son Damian on IG; I'll be interested to see if they say a peep about it. He was a horrible person, from all accounts.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||06/22/2020|
Leaping from a building is so impolite.
I'm not making light of depression and despair. Those are real and good manners aren't the first thing on your mind.
But what if your falling body hurts or kills someone? Why ruin another person's day? Even if your body doesn't hit someone but somebody is sitting nearby, minding their own beeswax and having a cup of coffee, you've intruded in a grotesque manner.

No. He denied it. She had to take him to court. When she announced she was pregnant with his child, he announced "Ms Hurley and I were not in an exclusive relationship when she became pregnant. It is her choice to be a single mother,"
He was trash
|by Anonymous||reply 29||06/22/2020|
I remember the whole fiasco with Elizabeth Hurley. I think he wanted to deny parentage but the DNA results proved he was indeed Damian Hurleys father. I imagine suicides will continue to rise with everything going on.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||06/22/2020|

"Bing's father is very wealthy"
His dad was a doctor. It was his grandad who was filthy rich:
"His parents are Helen, a nurse, and Peter Bing, a doctor in public health. At the age of 18, Bing inherited an estimated $600 million from his grandfather, Leo S. Bing, a real estate developer who had made his fortune in New York in the 1920s"
Obviously Liz was trying to get knocked-up by a rich guy. Be careful what you wish for.

Such a selfish way to commit suicide. Bystanders below, clean-up crew, etc. A depressed teen jumped off the 24-story building I worked in. The people who saw it happen never got over it.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||06/22/2020|
If he did jump from the same building as Candy Spelling's "Manor in the Sky," she'll kill him. Oh, wait, too late. But she's apparently getting ready to sell so she can move to another building. She'll probably try to sue this building again for facilitating the jump!
|by Anonymous||reply 44||06/22/2020|
This made me gasp aloud, I don’t know why.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||06/22/2020|

padma lakshmi is a filthy whore. Adam Dell has no self esteem. Not an ounce. He's back with padma (she couldn't find any other rich guy) after all she did to keep him apart from his daughter

R35 Is Bing effect the new Mandela effect?
|by Anonymous||reply 47||06/22/2020|
R43 Meh. I always hear how selfish suicides like this are but I imagine whatever that teen was going through was a thousand times worse than the bystanders bad memory of a strangers death.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||06/22/2020|
r48 Guess you're a tough one. From what I heard, blood and guts splattered all over people.

|by Anonymous||reply 51||06/22/2020|
Did Bing have a history of depression? He couldn't have killed himself because of money.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||06/22/2020|
Bodies often explode on impact. The people who were nearby when he landed will be scarred for life. Let's not pretend otherwise.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||06/22/2020|
I remember a 9/11 witness describing the impact of the tragic jumpers as sounding and looking like the bodies of cows landing on the sidewalk.

|by Anonymous||reply 57||06/22/2020|

|by Anonymous||reply 58||06/22/2020|
R43 I always think about this when people hang themselves or blow their brains out at home knowing a family member will be the ones who find their bodies hanging there with their face all purple and their eyes bulging out or their brains splattered all over the walls. That’s something that can never be unseen, ever. Such a shitty thing to do.

|by Anonymous||reply 71||06/22/2020|
Della R22 I agree. I witnessed, along with dozens of others, a suicide in NYC, 3 years ago. We all watched in horror as she paused momentarily on the top floor of a Midtown hotel before hurling to her death on a fire plug below. You can never forget the sound her landing made. A group of Korean tourists, women, shrieked in terror and some fainted by the horror. We all felt helpless and horrible that we couldn’t stop her fall and death.
Most were stunned and frozen and didn’t even approach the body until a hotel worker spread a sheet over her. I’m sure others who witnessed this were as traumatized as I was. The New York Post reported that she was a Japanese national despondent over a romance gone bad. Sorry, very OT.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||06/22/2020|

|by Anonymous||reply 74||06/22/2020|
That building has a reasonable amount of land around it. It's not as if he would have landed on a public sidewalk. In all likelihood he landed on the huge curved driveway or the grass. Not anywhere people would be walking or gathering.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||06/22/2020|

"Larry King with an exclusive here tonight...Steve Bing, nephew of Bing Crosby, has jumped off a soaring skyscraper in Cathedral City. With us on the line is Candy Spelling, who lives in the penthouse of the building next door. Candy, I understand you were inventorying some of your Beanie Babies to sell on eBay when your dog barked at something out the window. Tandy, what did it look like when Rodney King fell to the ground? Were there rioters on the street provoking him to jump? Up next, the lovely Jaclyn Smith from Aaron Spelling's classic 'Charlie's Angels' to weigh in on suicide jumpers and how to reason with them. But first, a word from Abilify...if you're thinking of jumping, ask your doctor for a script of Simplify."

"Separately but also in 2001, Bing's name appeared in the news when he sued billionaire Kirk Kerkorian for invasion of privacy. Bing alleged that Kerkorian's private investigators took Bing's dental floss out of his trash to collect his DNA. At the time, Kerkorian was in a legal fight with his ex-wife Lisa Bonder, a former professional tennis player, over the amount of child support he would pay, with the billionaire reportedly suspecting Bing (a previous boyfriend) to be the father of Kira. After Bing was proved by DNA test to be the father of Bonder's child, Bing and Kerkorian settled their dispute out of court."

I know what you mean when you say this type of suicide is selfish because of the feelings it gives rise to in witnesses.
But IF you’re suicidal and IF you don’t fear an accounting in the afterlife and IF you want to be absolutely certain that you do not survive — the method he chose is extremely likely to result in death and, clearly, that’s what mattered to him..
I have read “Suicide and Attempted Suicide” by Geo Stone (ISBN: 0-7867-0492-6). He exhaustively covers every conceivable method of suicide and analyzes each for its effectiveness as a suicidal method and/or as a suicidal gesture. An example is: a shotgun blast to the head is an extremely effective method and a very ineffective gesture.
Stone does not judge gestures and reports that many survivors of suicidal gestures report a high degree of satisfaction after their “attempt,” largely because they become the focus of a lot of attention and are taken more seriously when they complain.
Bing clearly did not want to survive and was unconcerned about the feelings of possible witnesses.
When I say the book is detailed, I mean it. Stone reports percentages of people who land face up or otherwise, compares the lethality of suicidally intended jumps versus accidental falls, breaks the jumpers down by race and sex. Nothing escapes him!
And every time I read it, I decide not to do it.

I know I will get flamed for this but committing suicide is a selfish act. Yeah, I know, "depression, you don't understand, me, me, me, me."
How you affect other peoples lives, especially with ones you don't know or have a grudge against is the last thought on your mind. Someone has to clean up your mess, someone might be traumatized by being in the wrong place and forced to see you splatter their guts all over the cement. But oh, lets talk about you and your mental pain again.

Wasn't it Bing's Grandfather who sued Kerkorian to accept paternity of the child with Lisa/Lisa Bonser, a pro tennis player? I think this is true - since I read it in the DM. There's 3 mister's Bing, Steve, his father a Dr, and Grandfather, the guy with the big bucks. I presume the Grandfather is dead or Steve wouldn't have had the inheritance. Make up a report and feel to add whomever you please.

All the money in the world and it could not buy him happiness.
I had a friend commit suicide. Shot herself in the head while her girlfriend was at work. The hardness drive I made was picking up the girlfriend in pouring rain with a drive that should have taken 30 minutes took 2 hours. We didn't talk about the suicide, but I can't imagine coming home to a scene like that.

R103, Doubtful it was the PH; he jumped from the 27th floor and the building is at least 40 floors.
As R83 said, I figured it was 10000 SM Blvd, although the 'Candy Spelling building' isn't too far from this area.
R53, that is terrible to think of. And Bing was six foot four at least, not a small guy (not saying someone small would make less of a mess, it's all horrible but you get my point)...
|by Anonymous||reply 145||06/22/2020|
Holy crap, he inherited 600 million when he was 18?
|by Anonymous||reply 146||06/22/2020|
I remember the son also looked creepy as a kid and a lot like Bing when he was younger. Does anyone have a picture? I remember the early 00s gossip and everything about this situation was creepy. Bing looked creepy with the white hair, creepy name, creepy kid and creepy PI going through his trash for DNA so she could get her child support cheques.

LOL, oh you sweet summer child. As if any gold digger 'wants' the father to be around. They want the pay day and that is all. It's not an easy gig pretending to GAF about some boring, ugly, fat old man for the time it takes to get knocked up. Could be a years long campaign.

I took about ten minutes to scroll through the replies to this post. I clicked on the Daily Mail link but it's a video and those are totally useless because they're sensationalist shite for the functionally illiterate. The whole time I was looking for two words: SUICIDE NOTE. I went to the DM website where the caption of one of the many pics (of all the rich and famous people Bing knew. What the fuck does it signify now with whom he was acquainted?) said simply, "He is believed to have jumped to his death."
The point I'm making is that it's easy to confuse real life with network programming fiction, where everything is figured out, done, dusted and cleanly put away in 48 minutes. It's too early to tell what this is. But whatever entity expects me to believe somebody choose to fall 20 odd stories rather than face quarantining in sybaritic luxury in their LA flat is gonna have to try a little harder.
There has to be some sort of inquisition, and investigation. Since the lurching changes we made when the pandemic became something that was no longer a joke, I've had to change the way I digest disturbing and horrific information. Maybe I'd term it using cuticle (thank you, Jennifer Saunders) thinking as a means of coping.
And as too many of us know, suicidal ideation occupies the minds of those you'd never suspect of harbouring those thoughts. That said, I think Steve Bing was far too busy being rich to take himself out.
|by Anonymous||reply 156||06/23/2020|
I'll bet there'll be no investigation, r156.
Because I smell a rat.

[quote]He has a widow's peak, which is unusual for a male.
That doesn't appear to be true. There were two casual studies done and neither identified what they considered to be a widow's peak, making the studies basically useless. There are also no real studies about the genetics behind a widow's peak.

|by Anonymous||reply 164||06/23/2020|
My guess: either he received some as-yet-undisclosed terminal medical diagnosis, or he had found himself showing early signs of dementia, something like that. Several comments upthread say “No way, too rich, etc” but this dude has had more money than God since he was 18, going balls deep into whatever hot Hollywood pussy he’s desired his whole life. It will be interesting to see if he adjusted his will knowing he was going out, or if he just went with the impulse.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||06/23/2020|

I always wonder why rich people jump off buildings or in front of trains, hang themselves or use other violent ways to end their lives. I mean he could certainly afford a trip to Mexico to buy some Nembutal or pay a doctor somewhere a shitload of money to end his life peacefully. They must be really desperate in that moment or psychotic to choose something like this. If I had time to plan, I would definitely choose a different way to end my life.

I think his son with Liz Hurley looks like Bing himself. He just styled himself to look like his Mom.
|by Anonymous||reply 185||06/23/2020|
The Wikipedia entry stated that he “fell” to his death. People who commit suicide are generally clinically depressed. If they were in their right mind, they would never do it. My sisters girlfriend was a devoted mother with two adult daughters. Her husband left her and she was in an untreated depression for about a year. Then she hung her self and knew her children would find her. She would never have knowingly done that to her children. People don’t take depression seriously enough.
R 84; please get help.

|by Anonymous||reply 187||06/23/2020|
Umm, r186? You ought to look up the history of suicide.
Very often it is a reasonable reaction . Not at all a result of "not in right mind".
The idea that suicide is a result of someone not "being in their right mind" was entirely invented by the Catholic Church.
In ancient Rome it was the only "Honourable Death".
|by Anonymous||reply 188||06/23/2020|

They will investigate this, thoroughly go through his residence and talk to all of his family, colleagues and acquaintances. It's a bit telling that he and Hurley were on speaking terms again, after so many years of rancor - makes me wonder if he was suffering from some kind of physical or mental issues that would cause him to soften up and reach out to her and his son.
The building where he died is new and right in front of/adjacent to Beverly Hills High, the backside abuts the school entrance. That entire area looks very built up from last I was there, in the early 00s.

This guy had more money than god. And yes, killing yourself this way is a huge "fuck you." No sympathy. If life was so hard for himself he could have spent the rest of his days drinking and drugging and screwing whores; he could've lived his days out at Disney World or on a remote island or atop a Manhattan penthouse or any number of harmless ways. Hell, he could've hired a hitman to kill him in private and enact a way to notify his family without anyone stumbling upon his body unprepared.
His legacy is being a deadbeat inseminator who idolized someone who was, at best, a nasty womanizer and adulterer. He can rot in hell. What a shitty waste of life.

Why even get pregnant by some rich, unattractive guy if you're not sure he will give you financial support. Sorry, haven't read the 200+ comments above & maybe someone has expressed that same thought.
Need to be like Salma Hayek and lock it all down in advance.
Heidi Klum also got pregnant by a rich, older guy. Then, IIRC, while pregnant, started dating Seal (the music artist)! Talk about moving on quickly.

He was a huge Dem donor. He had a son, no real relationship with him. Probably his money will be tied up in court for years even if he left a will, but it's reasonable to guess he will leave a large chunk to his son and to Dems. If the police conclude that he really committed suicide. Sorry, just speculating. He financed some good films, and some better politicians. Not "Be Best", but perhaps even better. May God bless his soul.

Bipolar disorder is a bitch to deal with. The past months of isolation didn't help, and if he had fallen out with his family that would exacerbate as well.
Anyone know why his grandfather left him all that money at age 18? Did he leave anything to his son, Bing's father, or just skip down to Steve. And what about Steve's sister, did Grandpa leave her a fortune as well when she came of age.
Sounds to me like he was a bit too spoiled, too much too soon.
|by Anonymous||reply 241||06/23/2020|
People who commit suicide are not in their right mind or rational. They only care about dying to relieve their pain. People calling him selfish are looking at it from a rational viewpoint.
It’s very hard to kill yourself due to one’s survival instinct kicking in. If you don’t believe me, try it.

I don't want to embellish or fill in facts, but I think she was told she was in violation of her contract. I know it was something critical enough that she could have been replaced if she was late again.

Was he really running out of money? How could that possibly happen?
|by Anonymous||reply 252||06/24/2020|
R252 One has to assume that no one ever explained the virtues of index funds to him. If he had just plopped $100 mil of that initial inheritance into a Vanguard market index mutual fund back in the 80s, he’d be set for life, even after blowing through the other $500 million.
|by Anonymous||reply 253||06/24/2020|
Who knows why anyone chooses their method of suicide? Not everyone takes the easy way out.
If he’d been on anti-depressants, he could have suffered the paradoxical side effect of suicidal impulses.
I think it’s interesting that he was back in contact with Liz and then he dies.
And finally, a person absolutely CAN lose $600 million. I’d like to try it sometime.
|by Anonymous||reply 254||06/24/2020|
Getting rid of possessions - such as selling your home and jet - are typical of some types of suicides, so he may not have been in financial trouble but rather planning his suicide. Jumping from that height does seem like a sure way to die. Which he did.

[quote]Child support just ended and no inheritance?
Both of his kids were ruled eligible to receive their share of their grandfather Peter Bing's trust, set up years ago for his grandchildren. That was recently stated to be worth around $380 million, so an annual income stream is likely worth several 100 thousand a year per grandchild, I would presume. Both kids will also inherit whatever was left of Bing's own $600 million fortune, which might still be substantial. They're set for life.
His daughter Kira also received $8 million+ from her at-birth father, billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, in the divorce from her mother Lisa Bonder. So she is already well set. Damien one presumes will also eventually receive his mothers estate, minus whatever is left after all the expensive bikinis and swimsuit Insta shoots.

Yes, but he also had a drug problem...according to his friends.
|by Anonymous||reply 275||06/24/2020|
As long as he didn't land on anyone.
|by Anonymous||reply 276||06/24/2020|
|by Anonymous||reply 277||06/24/2020|
If it only it had been Candy Spelling, someone in the Digital Journalism class at Mahwah High School as already prepared an obituary for her. I’m sure no one did that for Steve.
|by Anonymous||reply 278||06/24/2020|
He was bi-polar so yeah, he self-medicated like most do.
|by Anonymous||reply 279||06/24/2020|
R278, I'm dying (of laughter). Maybe one of the students could do one for me! It had to've been a little gayling who did Candy's. Probably on behalf of Tori, no doubt.
|by Anonymous||reply 280||06/24/2020|
Steve Bing has major Bi-Polar face.
|by Anonymous||reply 281||06/24/2020|
Does Damien have a uterus?
|by Anonymous||reply 282||06/24/2020|
Coincidence that Candy was teaching her dog JJ to roll on the morning of Bing's death? I think not. Let's roll!
|by Anonymous||reply 283||06/24/2020|
I see a lucrative endorsement deal for the Widow Spelling.
|by Anonymous||reply 284||06/24/2020|
Did Candy offer to have Steve's body gift wrapped?
|by Anonymous||reply 285||06/26/2020|
Candy recommends, in even the most limited space, to have white, silver and gold wrapping paper on hand. It’s fine to just use a simple bow, like how you would tie your shoe, as long as you add a flourish to the package.
|by Anonymous||reply 286||06/26/2020|
Liz Hurley worked with Dame Joan Collins on that wretched E! series 'The Royals'. I'm sure Dame Joan will get in touch with Candy to ask if Liz and Damian can crash at the Manor in the Sky until all this gets sorted. It may take awhile, but they'll want to be right there once Daddy Bing's estate is settled.
|by Anonymous||reply 287||06/26/2020|
Candy can put Damian to work to inventory and pack up her Beanie Babies and Madame Alexander dolls in preparation for the big move to the condo tower next door.
|by Anonymous||reply 288||06/26/2020|
R288, and Liz will help pack up all the purses Candy has for sale on eBay. She'll gift her one as a sympathy gift, and try to talk her into buying the mausoleum plots she has for sale.
|by Anonymous||reply 289||06/26/2020|
My mind is blown that Candy sells shit on eBay. Why on Earth? She has plenty of money.
|by Anonymous||reply 290||06/26/2020|
R290, she buys a lot as well (not surprising).
|by Anonymous||reply 291||06/26/2020|
Candy has 417 storage areas all over LA that are packed full of tchotkes and other useless shit. She fills one up and then buys another one.
|by Anonymous||reply 292||06/26/2020|
Why is Candy Spelling wrapping gifts? Doesn't she have a servant girl or two she could put to such menial tasks? Or better yet, why is she giving such cheap gifts that don't come from a store that offers a gift wrapping service?
|by Anonymous||reply 293||06/26/2020|
r293 Candy loves doing her own gift wrapping because she likes to give a personal touch to the people she's giving presents to. Candy will ask you what your favorite color is, and then she'll wrap the gift in that color of paper. Also, ribbons and bows.
|by Anonymous||reply 294||06/26/2020|
For the people questioning why he would jump, he probably was in intense mental pain and wanted something sure to work. Suicide by hanging or jumping usually indicates that they truly want out, rather than a "cry for help " sort of thing. I know people think he was awful for the Hurley fiasco but if they were in a casual relationship then it makes sense to request a paternity test before signing the birth certificate.
|by Anonymous||reply 295||06/26/2020|
Money really isn't a cure for depression I guess. Very said.
|by Anonymous||reply 296||06/26/2020|
R295. No, many of us felt for Bing. Hurley is a lying witch. Hurley said she was on birth control pills but took antibiotics, so the birth controls didn't work - what a coincidence while she was fucking a billionaire! She was full of shit. She wanted to get pregnant with the billionaire and so she did.
And she lied about not getting any financial help from Bing. He set up a trust for the antibiotic/birth control ooops.
It's shitty for gold diggers to lie to the men they are sleeping with about being on birth control.
|by Anonymous||reply 297||06/26/2020|
R297, you lie down with dogs, you end up with fleas.
|by Anonymous||reply 298||06/26/2020|
Caveman R297. Birth control is not only the woman's responsibility,. Any guy who wants to raw dog it all over town needs to get snipped or wear a condom. And filthy rich millionaires have to be 1000 x more careful. He was a fool.
|by Anonymous||reply 299||06/26/2020|
R294 How do you know so much about Candy?
|by Anonymous||reply 300||06/26/2020|
R294 How do you know so much about Candy?
|by Anonymous||reply 301||06/26/2020|
r297 = misogynist. Bing was with a LOT of women. Perhaps if straight men don't want a bunch of illegitimate children they shouldn't be so promiscuous
|by Anonymous||reply 302||06/26/2020|
R301 Like the earlier Candy wrapping video, in this one she speaks of what she would have been in another life, that being a professional gift wrapper. She considers herself an aficionado of the art form and may do a book or a video.
|by Anonymous||reply 303||06/26/2020|
Candy and Marie Kondo are to do a book on the art of re-gift wrapping!
|by Anonymous||reply 304||06/26/2020|
Is Bing having a funeral or memorial? Serious question...though I would still hope and pray Candy would show up at the visitation with a perfectly wrapped picture frame and one last reminder she has the two mausoleum plots for sale (which are directly above her parents, I might add).
|by Anonymous||reply 305||06/26/2020|
LEMME TELL U ….. when ur broke, suicide looks like an option.....to have to downsize ones life after decades of opulence, sux bad.
|by Anonymous||reply 306||06/26/2020|
R305 Quit trying to push Candy to sell those mausoleum plots, every one knows when she downsized the Manor she need every inch of storage space for all her “collectibles” junk. Those spaces are filled to the brim with Madam Alexander dolls and Beanie Babies, and she’s not emptying them out anytime soon.
|by Anonymous||reply 307||06/27/2020|
R307, I think the plots actually contain the remains of Tori's career on one, and Tori's sense of dignity in the other. Candy is even evicting her from the mausoleum!
|by Anonymous||reply 308||06/27/2020|
R308 Well she can’t have all those fat grandchildren cluttering up the space now can she.
|by Anonymous||reply 309||06/27/2020|
R309, those kids will be sold on eBay soon enough. Tori's AmEx lawsuit isn't going to pay for itself.
|by Anonymous||reply 310||06/27/2020|
r297 well, I hope she gets something out of it, because it's hard to go back to being a high end escort when you burned your bridges as a gold-digging who-ah, as Bill Burr would say.
Of course, at her age, those days are behind her now anyway, so maybe she could go back to the yacht men.
|by Anonymous||reply 311||06/27/2020|
r299 filthy rich billionaires hire very high end escorts they don't expect will be so unprofessional as to turn into gold-diggers.
If I had 1/100 of that money, I wouldn't trust anyone around me, let alone anything around a relationship/hookup. If I was straight, I would've been snipped long ago.
|by Anonymous||reply 312||06/27/2020|
I call this one the 'Bing Bow' - it's flat with a burst of colour.
|by Anonymous||reply 313||06/27/2020|
Can unused mausoleum plots be used for storage? Candy could probably fit a few dozen handbags in each.
|by Anonymous||reply 314||06/27/2020|
[quote]Candy has 417 storage areas all over LA that are packed full of tchotkes and other useless shit.
Couldn't she let Tori's family live in one?
|by Anonymous||reply 315||06/27/2020|
Ah, Candy Spelling, the patron saint of bad mothers, hoarding and gift wrapping rooms. Perhaps this darling needs her own thread?
|by Anonymous||reply 316||06/27/2020|
Candy wants to throw some shade of her own and remind everyone that it's National Sunglasses Day! Oh. Candy, you're such a card...
|by Anonymous||reply 317||06/27/2020|
Candy saw the whole thing from her gift wrapping room.
|by Anonymous||reply 318||06/27/2020|
R318, that's what I'd call the Big Bing Theory. She definitely saw him jump.
|by Anonymous||reply 319||06/27/2020|
Why this thread is about Candy Spelling now? Can someone explain it to me?
|by Anonymous||reply 320||06/27/2020|
R320, it was speculated right after Bing jumped that he jumped from Candy's building, where she owns the penthouse. That turned out to be untrue, but being DL, we ran with it. Or jumped to conclusions, I should say. It's all silly fun.
|by Anonymous||reply 321||06/27/2020|

|by Anonymous||reply 324||06/27/2020|
R324, you win. And your prize is the pair of Candy's mausoleum plots!
|by Anonymous||reply 325||06/27/2020|
Hurley and Bings son reminds me slightly of the Brant brothers. Technically the features are very attractive even beautiful but in an off putting, uncanny valley way. It's like one of those computer generated images of what is scientifically beautiful. Everything is symmetrical but lacking in something vital .
|by Anonymous||reply 326||06/27/2020|
R326, that seems to be the look of this era. It's horrific.
|by Anonymous||reply 327||06/27/2020|
Did someone say "mausoleum"?
|by Anonymous||reply 328||06/27/2020|
r1, no - Salmon Rushdie
BIg had two kids that needed paternity suits before he would claim them but she was not one. I was surprised there wasn't more coverage on this and I live in LA.
|by Anonymous||reply 329||06/27/2020|
Bing apparently had a young druggie girlfriend who overdosed a year ago and he was despondent at her loss and jumped a few days before the anniversary.
|by Anonymous||reply 330||06/27/2020|
r329 please do catch up. Adam Dell is the father of Ms. Lakshmi's daughter, not Rushdie, although the latter did briefly date her at one time iirc.
|by Anonymous||reply 331||06/27/2020|
I had no idea Sharon Stone dated him.
|by Anonymous||reply 332||06/27/2020|
r332 if you read the thread before you commented, you shouldn't be.
|by Anonymous||reply 333||06/27/2020|

|by Anonymous||reply 334||06/27/2020|
The woman you're talking about wasn't just anyone. She was Robert Mitchum's granddaughter.

R331- I think she was actually married to Rushdie.
|by Anonymous||reply 344||06/27/2020|
R341 Yes, that's Candy. She did have the Dynasty look.
|by Anonymous||reply 345||06/27/2020|
R341, I've asked a friend in the industry how much he things Candy is making off the 'Dynasty' reboot. In addition to the repetitive 'Charlie's Angels' movies and series pilots that have been greenlit over the years. He said it's hard to say, as it's based on how much Aaron actually owned of the brand. Yes, he produced them, but how much of it did he actually own once you split it with ABC and the creators. Either way, Candy is laughing to the bank each time she gets a residual cheque.
|by Anonymous||reply 346||06/27/2020|
Steve Bing's ex-GF who died of an OD was Robert Mitchum's great-granddaughter not his granddaughter.
|by Anonymous||reply 347||06/27/2020|
Robert Mitchum starred in 'The Big Sleep' (1978) with Dame Joan Collins and Jimmy Stewart. There was also a Candy Clark who co-starred...coincidence? I think not...Candy had this planned all along.
|by Anonymous||reply 348||06/27/2020|
I think Damian is beautiful.
|by Anonymous||reply 349||06/27/2020|
Do we know Damian’s pronouns?
|by Anonymous||reply 350||06/27/2020|
Damian looks a little like tennis player Simona Halep
|by Anonymous||reply 351||06/27/2020|
R332, I hesitated to reads Stone's take, but I'm glad I did. She said, “This is really hard. I had a really hard time with it… He’s a complicated person who I didn’t think always made good decisions… It’s a tough one. It’s a very tough one."
Sharon Stone has been chased by many crazy, rich men. Steve Wynn specifically, when she was a guest of his at the Mirage in Las Vegas whilst filming 'Casino'. He chased her back to her villa one night (after bombarding her with flowers), and Stone had to ask Scorcese and company to relocate her to another hotel for the rest of the filming. So for her to say Bing made poor decisions...well, that's what she said.
|by Anonymous||reply 352||06/28/2020|
Sharon Stone lies about being in Mensa, which I really like.
|by Anonymous||reply 353||06/28/2020|
I would like to know how much each of the kids, he didn't give a shit about, will inherit. And is Liz Hurley pissed that she has to pay for her son's college and expenses now. Other than that, I really don't care.
|by Anonymous||reply 354||06/28/2020|
Candy has just posted a pic of her balcony. I actually didn't know it was this spacious.
|by Anonymous||reply 355||06/28/2020|
R354 I don’t think Liz’s son is college material, more like wank material for trans folks.
|by Anonymous||reply 356||06/28/2020|
Candy ruins everything
|by Anonymous||reply 357||06/28/2020|
Maybe Damien is pregnant and Steve left everything to his grandchild.
|by Anonymous||reply 358||06/28/2020|
R357, I'd just been thinking about this clip (I know, I have to get a life). I forgot the part about Tatum O'Neal being Candy's bitchy pawn. That's a whole 'nother level of WTF.
Tori is smart to be wearing those wings, in case Candygram "accidentally" bumped into her and pushed her off the balcony of the Manor in the Sky.
|by Anonymous||reply 359||06/28/2020|
R357 I'd almost feel bad for Dean if he wasn't such a parasite.
|by Anonymous||reply 360||06/28/2020|
R359 So much to unpack right? Who is MaryJo? And is Tatum auditioning for the role of Candy’s daughter? Do they go out in public and Tatum pretends to be Tori? And who knew Tori was such good friends with Anna Kendrick?
|by Anonymous||reply 361||06/28/2020|
Candy Spelling Ruins Everything might be a good title for her thread?
|by Anonymous||reply 362||06/28/2020|
R355 That post is labeled “Great views and great art,” neither of those statements are correct.
|by Anonymous||reply 363||06/28/2020|
R362, yes! I'm honestly afraid Candy would ruin her own thread, though. It's almost like it's more fun to talk about her on a Steve Bing suicide thread than if she had her own. I could be wrong...I've read both of Candy's books and could regurgitate ridiculous anecdotes from both.
R359, Mary Jo is Dean's ex. She and Tori were on the outs for years, which tends to happen when someone steals your husband whilst filming a Lifetime movie. I didn't even notice Anna Kendrick was there. Candy bringing Tatum is still perplexing...I don't know what the connection would be except Aaron Spelling having produced 'Charlie's Angels' with Farrah, but that was before Ryan O'Neal and Farrah got together and left Tatum to be raised by wolves. Notice Tatum telling Dean in the clip that it would be "good for the show" if Tori came over and talked to Candy. Tatum didn't win an Oscar for nothing!
|by Anonymous||reply 364||06/28/2020|
That wasn't Anna Kendrick
|by Anonymous||reply 365||06/28/2020|
"Maybe YOU don't want to be my daughter, but Tatum does!" God, she's so childish.
|by Anonymous||reply 366||06/28/2020|
Why does momma Candy dislike her spawn so much?
|by Anonymous||reply 367||06/28/2020|
I don't think she dislikes Tori, she dislikes Tori's husband. She probably wanted Tori to marry a rich man like she did and have that man take care of her. Dean has always been a broke-ass moocher. I can't say I blame Candy for feeling that way.
|by Anonymous||reply 368||06/28/2020|
R123- you don’t know what you’re talking about. Would you say someone who dies of AIDS is selfish? Or someone who dies of Altzheimers? It’s exactly like that. I’m bipolar. It’s a deadly fucking illness. Before we found the right combination of meds for me, I had episodes where my mind felt programmed to kill myself. I don’t know how I survived but I did. Luckily for you, you are not dealing with a mental illness or you would understand.
|by Anonymous||reply 369||06/28/2020|
Damien has that Ronan Farrow “heavily cultivated to look like one’s (alleged) parent” look.
|by Anonymous||reply 370||06/28/2020|
R362, someone has started a separate thread for Damian. If you or someone else will start the "Candy Spelling Ruins Everything" thread, I can start if off with some anecdotes from her books. (Not yet a paying member here.)
|by Anonymous||reply 371||06/28/2020|
Here you go r371. Post those anecdotes!
|by Anonymous||reply 372||06/28/2020|
r331, I did realize that Rushdie was her HUSBAND of a childless marriage but I could not post because of prime time to correct myself.
|by Anonymous||reply 373||06/28/2020|
The new Candy Spelling thread has started...thanks for all the side-splitting jokes here, and let's migrate them to Queen Candy's new thread!

I am all for suicide. Do it. But not when you have kids. It's not their fault.
|by Anonymous||reply 376||Last Monday at 4:42 PM|
He was just the biological father, he rejected the kid all his life and probably traumatized him for life, now the kid have a closer and maybe some extra money. I think is a win.
|by Anonymous||reply 377||Last Monday at 5:43 PM|
Is he buried yet?
|by Anonymous||reply 378||Last Tuesday at 2:37 AM|
R378, I looked on the LA Times and don't see an official obit for him yet.
|by Anonymous||reply 379||Last Tuesday at 5:11 AM|
"He never met his son, Damian Hurley, now an 18-year-old model and actor, and only met daughter Kira Kerkorian, now 21, when she was an adult. But having initially fought public battles because he doubted his paternity of these children, he more recently went to court to ensure they would inherit a share of the Bing family fortune."
In 2019, Bing’s father sought to revise a four-decade-old trust to eliminate Bing’s two children as heirs to the family fortune, arguing they’d been born out of wedlock and his son had never developed meaningful relationships with them. “To the best of my knowledge, Stephen has never met Damian, and Stephen only met Kira after she became an adult,” Peter said in an affidavit. He also said having never met either child, “I do not consider them my grandchildren.” (Peter Bing, who has not commented publicly on his son's death, could not be reached for comment.)
In court papers, Bing’s attorneys described it as unjust for Damian and Kira to be “denied their rightful share” because of “the life choices their parents made, and Steve Bing will not stand idly by as his family exploits those circumstances and tries to redirect funds from Steve Bing’s children to [his sister] Mary Bing’s children.” (In 2002, Mary Bing told Vanity Fair that her brother had been “reproductively taken advantage of.”)
Bing said in court papers that he found it “callous” and “especially alarming” that Peter had said in an affidavit that he wouldn’t consider Damian Hurley to be his grandchild even if Bing were to develop a relationship with Damian. But at the time of his death, that had yet to happen. A knowledgeable source says the two had never met, but Bing texted with Damian on his 18th birthday in April.
I can't say I disagree with Grandpa Bing. You never met the kids despite knowing exactly where they were, were never a father aside from where you busted your load, why would you be considered "family" and entitled to property?

How embarrassing. I'm embarrassed for you.

Why should Bing's father have any right to tell his son what to do with HIS money. Bing should be able to leave his money to his kids, PETA, the DNC or whomever.
|by Anonymous||reply 382||Last Wednesday at 12:12 PM|
R382 I believe the lawsuit was about the family trust, not Bing's personal assets.
And personally I think it's really weird that he would go to such lengths to see them recognized financially but not...fucking meet them.
|by Anonymous||reply 383||Last Wednesday at 12:17 PM|
If Bing was so against having children, he should've gotten a vasectomy. I don't know why more straight guy who don't want kids don't do this, esp. the rich and famous ones.
BTW, you can really tell who the closeted gay celebrity guys are because they never have paternity scandals. Straight celebrity guys who fuck around and don't settle down almost always get snagged into a paternity scandal.
|by Anonymous||reply 384||Last Wednesday at 2:18 PM|
I would only add that if I had two children with the same woman and we split up. I'd race my ass to my physician to get a vasectomy, too.
|by Anonymous||reply 385||Last Wednesday at 2:45 PM|
My cousin got a vasectomy after his first marriage fell apart. Good thing too because his second marriage was an even bigger mess.
|by Anonymous||reply 386||Last Wednesday at 2:49 PM|
R352 Steve Wynn also had an affair with Sarah, Duchess of York, when she was still married to Andrew.

|by Anonymous||reply 388||Last Wednesday at 3:18 PM|
George Clooney never had a paternity scandal, did he? Or Brad Pitt.
|by Anonymous||reply 389||Last Wednesday at 3:37 PM|
r389, neither did I! He should have just made his model girlfriends give him handjobs while saving the real lovin' for Tobey Maguire, just like I did
|by Anonymous||reply 390||Last Wednesday at 4:13 PM|
I'm sure they were diligent about using a condom until they decided to have kids. Bing on the other hand never had any desire to have kids so he definitely should've had a vasectomy.
|by Anonymous||reply 391||Last Wednesday at 7:41 PM|
Is there a woman who was in his life who is being blamed for it all? That seems to happen, the scapegoating, any time a famous man kills himself....
|by Anonymous||reply 392||Last Wednesday at 7:42 PM|
The fact that he didn’t want kids and didn’t have any relationship with them, but went to court to ensure they got a share of the family fortune, reads more like an issue he had with his father and sister. Maybe she was the daddy’s favorite for providing him with actual grandchildren, and he was bitter about that.
