LOL, you ain't right OP.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 21, 2020 2:04 PM |
OP only said what we were all thinking.

That kid always confused me in the movie. I was sure it was a little boy, but they kept calling him Ellen.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 21, 2020 2:09 PM |
Really R2, you were thinking in 1987 “What a brave non-binary pioneer!”
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 21, 2020 2:20 PM |
Yes, R5, I noticed too. Perhaps not in today's specific terms, but wondered nonetheless.

She grew up and went to Barnard college, grew a mustache, and hates all white males, thereby undermining her effort to stop hate based on skin color.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 21, 2020 2:28 PM |
She thinks BLM stands for Bunnies' Lives Matter.

No, just a gym teacher waiting to happen.

Why do genderqueer/non-binary people all have to had a bad haircut? I have yet to see a person with that label who has nice hair!!

What about Jodie Foster in "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore?"
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 21, 2020 2:55 PM |
What an odd choice when showing the all American family in the 80's to have made a cute little girl look like a boy. I don't understand that decision, but I'm not losing sleep over it.

They did it deliberately to show what a complete wack job Alex was.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 21, 2020 3:17 PM |
Jodie looks cute in that photo.

R14 - Kelly McGillis

As a little girl in the late 80s I had that same butchy haircut. But I grew it out after we went to a Chinese restaurant and the waiter asked my parents, “does he want more rice?”

Wow, OP, this topic has never been brought up on DL before!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 21, 2020 3:55 PM |
I'm sure she learned from the... woman sitting next to her.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 21, 2020 3:56 PM |
How about Iris Myandowsky, the handwalking queer
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 21, 2020 4:05 PM |
I never noticed before, but Eddie Redmayne looks like Albert Nobbs. ^^

She's trying to get back into the entertainment industry.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 21, 2020 4:12 PM |
She played a male character in her school play.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 21, 2020 4:17 PM |
R14, she's butcher than the boy who plays Tommy and even he's looking like "does she have a dick?"
When I saw the movie, the audiences laughed when Jodie said her name was Audrey.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 21, 2020 4:21 PM |
weird
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 21, 2020 4:24 PM |
In the dyke world is Jodie what is considered a total top in the gay world?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 21, 2020 4:28 PM |
That's awesome - she was cousin Eddy's kid Ruby from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. I just check out her IMBD that was posted. Good for her. Even though she's a bit frau-ish, she is a better looking adult than child.

R27 - I think Jodi would be considered a hard lipstick. I recently watched the Accused - she plays straight white trash pretty convincingly. I love Jody and think she is gorgeous back in the Silence of the Lamb era. KStew is no Jodi Foster.

I was 11 when Fatal Attraction came out and I begged my aunt to take me. I don't think she realized what the film was really going to be like so later she admitted she was mortified. My mother, of course, did not care...I have posted about this before on other threads...
Anyways, I do remember at one point asking her if the kid was a boy or a girl and she honestly didn't know.
Next time I see her, I'll have to bring this up so we can have a good laugh.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 21, 2020 4:43 PM |
She wasn't and isn't any of the above. You realize she didn't cut her own hair that way, don't you? That was the director and the hair and makeup department. What you should be questioning is how such a poor actress got cast. Was she the Producers niece? Uber-natural I guess but as bland and non-emotive as they come.

R3 They had incredible foresight to call a butchie girl “Ellen”.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 21, 2020 5:05 PM |
Are we sure they weren’t saying ‘Alan?’
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 21, 2020 8:37 PM |
My niece had a haircut like that when she was three. They always put her in dresses. Go figure.
