Teens & KPop Fans Trolled Trump

Teens reserved hundreds of tickets for Donald Trump's Tulsa rally on Saturday night with no intention of attending, social media users have claimed.

Political strategist Steve Schmidt tweeted on Saturday night: 'My 16 year old daughter and her friends in Park City Utah have hundreds of tickets. You have been rolled by America's teens.

'@realDonaldTrump you have been failed by your team. You have been deserted by your faithful. No one likes to root for the losing team.'

by Anonymousreply 1June 21, 2020 1:17 AM

He then added: 'This is what happened tonight. I'm dead serious when I say this. The teens of America have struck a savage blow against @realDonaldTrump. All across America teens ordered tickets to this event. The fools on the campaign bragged about a million tickets. lol.'

The rally was intended to be the largest indoor gathering in the world during the coronavirus pandemic that has killed more than 120,000 Americans, put 40 million more out of work and upended Trump's reelection bid.

On June 15, Trump had tweeted that nearly a million people had requested tickets.

But in the hours before the event, crowds seemed significantly lighter than expected at the 19,000 seat BOK Center. Campaign officials scrapped plans for Trump to first address an overflow space.

by Anonymousreply 2June 21, 2020 1:18 AM

Political scientist Alyssa R. Williams wrote: 'My 17 yr old daughter & friends did the same. I thought she was kidding me on how many teens were on board. Amazing!'

Teresa Moore replied: 'It wasn't just teenagers. I'm 60 and I've got 300 tickets. And I'm an Oklahoma Democrat.'

Lynn V tweeted: 'My 16 year old son just told me he knows a bunch of KPop Stan's who were getting tickets to the Trump Rally. He said he didn't do it because Trump isn't even worth a fake ticket.'

by Anonymousreply 3June 21, 2020 1:20 AM

Bullshit! No one turn out because Shitler is going down!!!

by Anonymousreply 4June 21, 2020 1:23 AM

Let's hear it for the KIDS!!!!!

they just handed TRUMP a BIG defeat.

by Anonymousreply 5June 21, 2020 1:30 AM

I'm glad they did it but that's not why people didn't show up.

by Anonymousreply 6June 21, 2020 1:31 AM

Were the tickets free? So many tweets saying they bought tickets, which means they just donated money to Cheeto's campaign.

by Anonymousreply 7June 21, 2020 1:33 AM

You're confusing the two points R6

The teens got Trump's team to think that they had sold hundreds of thousands of tickets and set up for an overflow crowd beyond their wildest dream

And NO R7, they did not BUY them. They reserved them. Think "will call"

by Anonymousreply 8June 21, 2020 1:34 AM

R8, let’s see a link.

by Anonymousreply 9June 21, 2020 1:37 AM

Trump’s gonna say the left is trying to stifle free speech by doing this, that they pulled this scam to prevent people who wanted to see and hear him from attending. He’ll tie it to statues and political correctness.

by Anonymousreply 10June 21, 2020 1:41 AM

[quote] The teens got Trump's team to think that they had sold hundreds of thousands of tickets and set up for an overflow crowd beyond their wildest dream

You're assuming that Trump's team releases information that it honestly believes.

by Anonymousreply 11June 21, 2020 1:42 AM

If the only reason why people didn’t attend was due to there not being tickets available that doesn’t mean Trump doesn’t have supporters. This really tells us nothing.

by Anonymousreply 12June 21, 2020 1:42 AM

When Trump spoke in my city there was huge overflow crowds that showed up without tickets. If you really think that a few hundred-- or even thousands of-- kids claiming to have reserved tickets deterred the deplorables, you are as retarded as they are.

by Anonymousreply 13June 21, 2020 1:45 AM

This is hilarious now, but going forward, nonstop, Trump and his minions will lie their asses off about this. It will start with the libtards infringed on their free speech by reserving tickets real Trump fans were desperate to get, then it will get progressively more dangerous and ridiculous. Within days they'll be screaming Trump fans lives were threatened with violence by antifa when they tried to get in.

And the press will dutifully "report" the lies by repeating them verbatim without challenge. It won't be so funny after a while.

by Anonymousreply 14June 21, 2020 1:51 AM

This makes the Kpop kids much less annoying. It is a very clever idea and also indicates that the younger generation isn’t as dumb as some assume.

I mean Gen Z.

by Anonymousreply 18June 21, 2020 2:01 AM

I'd much rather deplorables eschewed this event of their own accord. However, at least these k-pop brats must have saved a few lives by keeping the number of attendees low.

by Anonymousreply 19June 21, 2020 2:03 AM

You’re missing the point, r13. You never overpromise and under deliver. Dump’s campaign people should have vetted this. Instead they crowed about record breaking crowds, they look like the idiots they are.

by Anonymousreply 20June 21, 2020 2:03 AM

Omg, the CNN guy is reporting from inside the nearly empty arena to the strains of the ending instrumental to “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

by Anonymousreply 21June 21, 2020 2:04 AM

Are these kids gonna vote come November?

That's what'll matter.

by Anonymousreply 22June 21, 2020 2:05 AM

[quote] You’re missing the point, [R13]. You never overpromise and under deliver. Dump’s campaign people should have vetted this.

Yes, if you are dealing with normal professionals. The Trump team is THAT incompetent. That is the point.

by Anonymousreply 23June 21, 2020 2:06 AM

I don’t know if many of you are aware that KPop fans have been deluged rightwing threads that trend on Twitter. Any rightwing, GOP, Trumpster or suspected Russian-started trending topic gets completely diluted with thousands of photos of KPop stars

by Anonymousreply 24June 21, 2020 2:07 AM

R11, do you understand that Brad Pascale or however the fuck his name is spelled is probably out of job SPECIFICALLY because of this? The guy went on twitter to brag about 1M requests. He embarrassed himself and Trump.

You need to pay closer attention. This isn't some teen prank you can be flippant about. What they did was great. They made these imbeciles think Trump was as popular as ever.

These kids are welcomed on my lawn any day!

by Anonymousreply 25June 21, 2020 2:10 AM

will be welcomed*

by Anonymousreply 26June 21, 2020 2:10 AM

R22, I think many of them are too young.

by Anonymousreply 27June 21, 2020 2:12 AM

I agree R27 but I really hope those that can, will.

by Anonymousreply 28June 21, 2020 2:15 AM

Yes, R24, and they also posted so many Kpop videos to a bunch of police ”tip lines” set up to monitor the protesters that they crashed their servers. THIS is the kind of “influencer” I can get behind.

by Anonymousreply 29June 21, 2020 2:17 AM

KPop fans are not having it on Twitter with GOP trolls & bots from now til the election. They destroy every one of their feeds. You’ll open a trending topic and see 10 tweets praising the Dear Leader and then 200 photos of Jimin

by Anonymousreply 30June 21, 2020 2:17 AM

I just tweeted to Parscale that I hope his unemployment insurance info is up to date. It’s the little things that make me happy.

by Anonymousreply 31June 21, 2020 2:18 AM

What does Kayleigh think about all of this?

by Anonymousreply 32June 21, 2020 2:20 AM

Trump will just photoshop in the crowds like he did with the inauguration. Or sharpie them in like the hurricane in Alabama.

by Anonymousreply 33June 21, 2020 2:21 AM

The fact that they spent time doing this and are aware of what garbage Trump truly is, makes me proud of this generation. I still take issue with their obsession with nonsense like the Kardashians, but to be politically "woke" enough to know how dangerous Trump truly is and that they know the only way they can do something, is troll the asshole, is a beautiful thing.

r24, I actually mentioned that in the Trump/Tulsa thread. I always got annoyed seeing those K-Pop videos whenever I'd scroll through a hashtag, but when they started doing that, I never cursed them again. Every time right-wing trash started a new hashtag, those kids immediately got on it like an influx of locusts.

by Anonymousreply 34June 21, 2020 2:21 AM

Was there any kind of limit on how many tickets Team Trump gave away? If they were bragging about over a million requests then they really can't complain about trolls since any MAGAts who wanted to go should have been able to

by Anonymousreply 35June 21, 2020 2:22 AM

Rick Wilson must be happy. He hates Parscale & has been sowing mistrust between Trump & Parscale. Knowing Wilson is the architect behind Swift Boat Veterans who killed John Kerry’s campaign, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is behind this. He is that diabolical that he’d go into KPop sites & encourage stans to order tickets.

by Anonymousreply 36June 21, 2020 2:22 AM

Remember when Brad Pascale was bragging about 1 million people reserving tickets in a clamor of demand and approval for Trump?

Donald Trump has got to be the most popular president that’s existed to this day. Good publicity, bad publicity, it doesn’t really matter. He’s the topic of everyone’s conversation and people are constantly thinking of new ways to bring him up so they they can talk about him some more. All of this would certainly be worthwhile if it ultimately led to a reform of our political system and the replacement of corrupt government agents with individuals that represent the greater public and their interests rather than those of wealthy capitalists. We’ll continue to make Donald Trump the butt of our jokes until he’s finally removed from office. The thing is, it’ll just be another politician that can talk with a smile while promising change but making none. Donald Trump is just a small part of a bigger system. When do we play pranks and humiliate the billionaires for the atrocities they’ve committed against society? The presidency is only a four year term, eight at the most, but lots of positions in the various political parties stay occupied for longer periods of time and they’re held by people who have done longer lasting systematic damage than Trump could ever hope to achieve if he really tried his hardest.

by Anonymousreply 41June 21, 2020 2:33 AM

R40, it's OK. Still gives me some hope for the future that they're at least politically aware enough to know evil when they see it and they're going to fuck with it however they can at their young age.

What's funny is that teens had bee working on this all week and many of us had no idea until the last couple of days.

by Anonymousreply 42June 21, 2020 2:38 AM

Why why why? The teens should have let hundreds of deplorable die the terrible and painful death. Instead they have saved their lives!

What a stupid twist of fate!!!

Anthony Scaramucci @scaramucci

Trump campaign said 1 million tickets requested. 20,000 seat arena is maybe half full. Outdoor event cancelled. Sad when the farewell tour doesn’t sell out.

by Anonymousreply 46June 21, 2020 2:43 AM

The overflow crowd must have been nonexistent since they would have shoved them into the arena to take up those empty seats, right?

So no overflow crowd.

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

by Anonymousreply 47June 21, 2020 2:44 AM

This Covid-19 lockdown/restrictions are making Gen Z kids much more politically aware and active. Good!!

by Anonymousreply 48June 21, 2020 2:45 AM

I love that these young people did this, what a great way to push back at the evil we're dealing with right now. They could easily just ignore this shitshow and enjoy the benefits of their youth, but they instead chose action. Good for them.

by Anonymousreply 49June 21, 2020 2:51 AM

[quote] Why why why? The teens should have let hundreds of deplorable die the terrible and painful death. Instead they have saved their lives What a stupid twist of fate!!!

This is soooo much better. This is Trump’s big relaunch of his campaign. He made a point of picking Juneteenth to get attention & rile people up - he was trolling with that. He knew he couldn’t do it on that date. They built an outdoor podium so Pence & Trump could give a speech outdoors to the 40,000 people they expected out there, after he gave his indoor speech. They had to dismantle it before he even started speaking indoors. The secret Service was pulling it down in the empty lot. Six people on the team tested positive for covid,

Now the worldwide media is proclaiming Trump’s big relaunch a disaster. They’re calling him weak. They’re laughing at him. They’re saying it’s pathetic, it’s sad. He risked people’s lives for a dud of a rally.

It’s brilliant

by Anonymousreply 50June 21, 2020 2:52 AM

Plus — Barr announces Berman resigned. Berman says nah, didn’t happen. And you don’t have the power to fire me. Barr says, well the president says you’re fired. Trump says - Not my job. I have no responsibility

Then — 6 team members in Tulsa have the virus. The virus that the CDC said you really shouldn’t go into an indoor arena because you can catch it. They were helping set up that arena.

Then — they started taking down the outdoor podium.

Then — empty seats throughout the arena.

Then — Trump rants & raves about testing. The media shows rally goers yawning, scrolling their phones.

Then — the news that teenagers were responsible for empty seats. They trolled the campaign that is relaunching itself tonight.

It’s a no good, very bad day for Trump

Turns out social distancing is easily practiced at a trump rally

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 52June 21, 2020 3:10 AM

The Trump campaign was giving anyone who registered a ticket, so every Trump supporter who wanted a ticket got one, so regardless of how many tickets were given to people who had no intention of going, still almost no one showed up, even Trump supporters.

by Anonymousreply 53June 21, 2020 3:12 AM

Not surprised to hear that 'the brains' of this was a Pete supporter, R39!

by Anonymousreply 54June 21, 2020 3:28 AM

by Anonymousreply 56June 21, 2020 3:42 AM

God bless those kids! I might have to start listening to dreadful K-Pop now!

THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT!

by Anonymousreply 57June 21, 2020 3:44 AM

It's important to know that there is literally no cap on the total number of "tickets" that are sent out for Trump rallies. It's general admission and there is no guarantee of admission to the venue. It's actually first come, first served for whoever actually shows up. The kids could have requested a billion tickets and that's how many would have been emailed and it would have no effect on how many of those who showed up could get in. So any claim that fake requests had an effect is ridiculous. The most important thing to the Trump campaign is to get the email addresses to add to their solicitation distribution.

by Anonymousreply 58June 21, 2020 4:51 AM

Again, R58, it's about this. This FOOL thinking 1M+ MAGAts were requesting tickets. We know it had no effect on who did/didn't show up, but this asshole making Trump *think* a million had requested tickets or try to put it out there in an attempt to make it more desirable an event than it was to encourage actual idiots to show is why it's so funny. And this guy may be out of a job because of it:

by Anonymousreply 69June 21, 2020 6:41 AM

R68, true. We should be way more mature like the current president who outright threatens violence against people using their rights as American citizens to protest.

Seriously, fuck off. I'm so tired of your enabling shit. The president stood up there and told people he purposely slowed testing for COVID...and you think teens trolling him are the problem? To whom are you trying to appeal at this point? People who've been in a coma until right this second and have no clue what a repulsive shit Trump is?

by Anonymousreply 70June 21, 2020 6:43 AM

Bravo to these kids for punking this fool.

I've done the same for his stupid rallies in Ohio and so do some of my friends but never on a scale like this. Well done!

The empty arena was why old Brad was on Twitter begging people to show up and saying there was plenty of room but people still stayed away.

PEOPLE STILL FUCKING STAYED AWAY! Even after the plea went out for trumptards to show up, they didn't.

So either the trumptards were afraid or lazy. Maybe both. Either way, kudos to the kids for embarrassing the fuck out of these assholes.

Your stupid ass said "What if the deplorable did the same to Uncle Joe's rally? "

What if deplorables showed up with guns to statehouses or killed a young woman protesting or claimed the first black president wasn't born here or the first woman running killed people or ran some pedo ring out of a pizza joint or claimed COVID was a hoax or a myriad of other things.

Yes, let us pretend that some teens trolling the president over a rally is just ghastly!

Again, FUCK. OFF.

As they say: “Be wary of Greeks bearing gifts”.

K-Pop is often a toxic cult as well. They might do a few progressive actions once on a blue moon - but usually that Fandom is a psychotic sea of mostly hormonal teenage girls. (There are some guy fans, but the girls far outnumber the guys).

If anyone DARES say anything about their idols that they don’t like (like the recent criminal investigation that some of the K-Pop idols were gang-raping unconscious people and filming it) - that whole K-Pop mob will quickly abandon all of its superficial “progressiveness”, doxx people, barrage them with messages to slit their wrists for “attacking” their prized idols.

It’s also ironic how the K-Poppers pretend to support BLM - meanwhile they send death threats to black rappers like Elizabeth Harris (who later said she never experienced a fandom as toxic as K-Poppers) and slather their own skin with whitening creams (because Asians with dark skin are considered “too ugly” in their own industry).

I think everyone needs to calm down - all this did was allow them to claim higher numbers, which is what Trump's team has been doing for years anyway.

And they've done this at previous rallies. Reminder - this 'prank' did nothing to change how many supporters were there. You can't point to this and say they hurt Trump's rally.

All they did was allow them to repeat some ridiculous numbers - it had nothing to do with attendance. Tickets were free and unassigned, right?

You all are giving these teens way too much credit - and an easy excuse for Trumpsters to dismiss the failure of the rally.

by Anonymousreply 92June 21, 2020 2:47 PM

kudos to them, Dems need more ratfucking

by Anonymousreply 95June 21, 2020 3:29 PM

R93 - yes, fine. But it wasn't the reason why they didn't have full capacity. The story here is that he didn't have much support after all.

It's not that TikTok users inflated his numbers and caused it to be empty. It's not that protestors drove people away and caused it to be empty.

Regardless of registration, everyone who wanted to attend could get a ticket and a seat. The TikTok thing is only about numbers - which no one took seriously anyway.

You can't give them an excuse, which is what this will be.

by Anonymousreply 96June 21, 2020 3:30 PM

I live in Oklahoma and our goal was to cause as much logistical chaos as we could. We had our governor running around talking about exploring bigger venues. Lawyers took the case to the Oklahoma Supreme Court trying to block the rally. Stores around the arena boarded up their windows in expectations of riots and looting. The day before Trump came, Al Sharpton was also in town. The Trumpanzees camped out for days waiting to be first in line. There were people walking around with guns since Oklahoma is an open carry state. We wanted to fuck with them any way we could. I kinda see it like we were the Ghost Army in WW2. Doing anything we could to fuck with Shitler. And it worked. YAY!

R12 Are you slow?

There was no cap on tickets. Tickets were unlimited. So even if 2 million k-pop fans had reserved tickets, there would STILL be enough tickets available if 3 million Trump supporters wanted them.

The only thing the teens and k-pops affected was Brad Parscale and Trump's expectations - enough to create an overflow stage - which is STILL a great thing!

by Anonymousreply 102June 21, 2020 3:52 PM

How stupid do you have to be to think there was a cap on tickets when the Trump team was bragging about selling a million tickets to a 19,000 seat venue?

The best part--so may people questioned the campaign's numbers this past week, saying there was no way that many people would be descending on Tulsa for this event. Only the dumbest of the deplorables believed it.

by Anonymousreply 103June 21, 2020 4:02 PM

R103 Selling tickets?

No tickets were sold. It was a free event so.....

by Anonymousreply 104June 21, 2020 4:04 PM

The trolling could’ve kept people away. I remember how NYC hyped the Tall Ships in NY harbor on the bicentennial so much that people stayed away. They said there would be unprecedented gridlock, bridges & tunnels would be backed up, there would be millions pouring into the city. Everyone was so scared they stayed home.

It’s a possibility that people in OK heard Parscale & Kale Leaf McANinny bragging about a million tickets and said, “I’m not going there. I’ll get crushed to death or have to spend hours sitting in traffic. I’ll stay home & watch it on tv.”:

by Anonymousreply 105June 21, 2020 4:07 PM

Their new spin on this disaster is that "ticket registration" was for a "thorough and careful data collection" and had nothing to do with managing capacity or planning (According to Mercedes Schlapp on Chris Wallace show this morning.)

by Anonymousreply 106June 21, 2020 4:07 PM

R105 - watching the Tall Ships in the harbor and the fireworks that night are two of my great memories of the Bicentennial. And we didn’t have any problem getting to the Staten Island waterfront for either.

by Anonymousreply 107June 21, 2020 4:12 PM

Do you think they’ll charge for tickets in the future in order to prevent this happening again? That will definitely keep attendance at his rallies down.

by Anonymousreply 108June 21, 2020 4:14 PM

I love that people spent 3 days sleeping on the ground to see that hyena lose his shit about his slippery shoes & make a “joke” about not testing people who might be dying of a deadly disease.

by Anonymousreply 109June 21, 2020 4:16 PM

Campaigns KNOW that they will be subjected to dirty tricks by the opposition, including this type of trolling. So it's hard to believe that the campaign actually believed that a million people had legitimately requested tickets. Maybe they have underestimated the depth of people's hostility to Trump.

by Anonymousreply 110June 21, 2020 4:22 PM

They should bring back

by Anonymousreply 111June 21, 2020 4:27 PM

[QUOTE] You all are giving these teens way too much credit - and an easy excuse for Trumpsters to dismiss the failure of the rally.

EXACTLY! They'll blame this disaster on "some stupid, unpatriotic kids who worship foreigners" to try to distort the fact that people just didn't want to show up.

by Anonymousreply 112June 21, 2020 4:37 PM

The TikTok kids were great! I hope they continue to do this kind of activism. It was a woman who started the idea.

I don't see Biden connecting with these kids very well though. Does he even have someone on his campaign that just advises about the younger vote/activism? It could make a real difference. Maybe a young, well liked, celebrity.

They just proved to all they can be a real force. And I love it.

by Anonymousreply 113June 21, 2020 4:42 PM

R32 I'm not entirely convinced McNinny is capable of thought, at least in the way WE understand the term, but I'm certain she clutched her crucifix more than a few times!

by Anonymousreply 114June 21, 2020 4:45 PM

Brad Parscale was responsible. This guy is too busy grifting and partying to competently weed out any trolling attempts from the rallies.

I can't blame him, I'd be grifting away too before the gravy train runs out.

Dagnabit! They HAD a six person team to vet the ticket reservations!

by Anonymousreply 116June 21, 2020 5:15 PM

Everyone who wanted a ticket to actually attend the rally was unable to obtain one. The empty venue is not the result of what the kids did. (As been pointed out several times.). However, Parscale is left with egg on his face and will probably end up unemployed and have to sell a condo or two.

by Anonymousreply 117June 21, 2020 5:20 PM

This ought to have remained a stealth operation, with participants sworn to secrecy so the Orange Ass Clown would believe he's losing support. That would have been best IMHO.

by Anonymousreply 118June 21, 2020 5:26 PM

R118, the thing that Dump hates most of all, in my opinion, is to be embarrassed. This caused epic embarrassment. It would have been embarrassing enough with just the 6600 attendees, but the difference between the hype and the actual event was the cherry on top. That makes it a win for me.

by Anonymousreply 119June 21, 2020 5:40 PM

The Fire Department of Tulsa estimated the crowd at 6,200.

The union of the Tulsa/BOK stage crew estimated the crowd at 6,611.

The BOK arena capacity is 19,199,

No matter which way you look at it, the turnout was pathetic. And there was no need for the outside “overflow” stage. Trump’s “greatest hits” of rants and whines along with his desperate explanation of his bumbling ramp walk and drinking water with one hand didn’t play.

by Anonymousreply 120June 21, 2020 5:47 PM

Get this ---

NOTE - A door count placed the Trump rally officially placed crowd at 6,116. Of those, 2,837 were paid gig actors & 986 were Trump Campaign 2020, 532 were WH/Trump propaganda machine employees, 183 were plainclothes security meaning: 1,578 WERE TOTAL REAL ATTENDEES!

by Anonymousreply 121June 21, 2020 5:47 PM

I tried to do the fake ticket reserving thing for a nearby rally several months ago and they were on to me immediately. I must be on a list! But I got an email saying they would confirm shortly, then nothing. I was surprised to hear that this mass reservation troll worked, and from what I've seen on social media, it really did, people had multiple email confirmations for tickets.

Someone really fucked up, and I'm glad they did because it's hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 122June 21, 2020 5:51 PM

[quote]The empty venue is not the result of what the kids did. (As been pointed out several times.).

It's possible some people chose not to go, thinking it was going to be too crowded and they didn't want to end up outside watching on a big screen. That's why people lined up starting on Tuesday, they had heard so many tickets were sold they were afraid they wouldn't even get in.

But I agree that it probably didn't account for thousands of people staying home.

by Anonymousreply 123June 21, 2020 5:55 PM

Where does the paid gig actors number come from?

Even if every last person was a diehard supporter, one-third capacity is pathetic. Trump must be rage eating. Not a Big Mac left to spare in the DC area.

by Anonymousreply 124June 21, 2020 5:57 PM

I heard the tickets were first come first serve. So while the TicTockers inflated the numbers of people who were going to attend, the trumpsters could have still gotten in or would be in the outside space. I think they just stayed away.

by Anonymousreply 125June 21, 2020 6:03 PM

THIS is the only thing that matters. THIS is the only thing people need to take away from all of this. Forget the tickets themselves or free this or that. Not the point.

The guy made a colossal jackass out of himself over this. So unless he has blackmail material on the Trumps, he's gone. Or they keep him because they basically have no one left.

by Anonymousreply 139June 21, 2020 8:41 PM

It’s beautiful for 2 reasons

1) People didn’t show up. Only 6,000 in a venue that held 19,000. Massive fail.

2) The kids got over on the Trump campaign. The campaign actually believed a million people wanted to go to Tulsa OK to see Trump. That’s an insanely amateur mistake.

3) That outdoor podium! oh mah gahd! They expected 40,000 people in the parking lot! The Secret Service haD to quick rip it down before the rally began indoors, hoping nobody would see them. We saw them.

4) Trump had Air Force One do a low flyover of the venue so he could give the outdoor crowd a thrill. Imagine him looking out the window & seeing an empty lot! I love it.

5) Gym Jordan looking around the arena, wondering where the crowd was

by Anonymousreply 150June 21, 2020 10:00 PM

This is giving his campaign and Brad Parscale WAAAAY too much credit, but what if they're trying to gaslight Trump and make him even crazier by knowingly letting him think a million people would show up and then only 6,000 come? Maybe induce a rage stroke?

We've all had that boss we hate, plus they have to see all of these polls showing him losing in a landslide. Why not get revenge on that fucker on the way out the door? We all know his employees and family hate him way more than the rest of us.

by Anonymousreply 151June 21, 2020 10:06 PM

Trump is Brad's meal ticket. No way he did this on purpose because he wants to fuck with Trump. Who will hire him after this debacle?

I'm sure he knew a lot of the requests were fake, but was (literally) banking on most being real and getting others to see what they'd be missing out on if they didn't show up for this hot ticket event.

by Anonymousreply 152June 21, 2020 10:14 PM

Who knows how many kids actually ordered tickets? (I hear Barron and his friends ordered almost 9,000.). However, I don't think they ordered all 800,000. If they had, Parscale would have been saying over 16,000,000 had been ordered.

by Anonymousreply 153June 22, 2020 1:32 AM

Of course that hare-brained Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez opened her big stupid yap and gave the Trumpers more to complain about! Now she's helped bury the actual lede which is that the stadium was only a third full due to LACK OF INTEREST, not any other reason!

Tickets to an event like this are doled out by the thousands and every ticket holder is warned that it is strictly first come-first served. The reason there were so many seats is that people simply didn't want to attend, Trump earned the lousy empty house all by himself. No one who wanted entrance was kept out, they print tons of extra tickets! All AOC had to do was keep her mouth closed and not snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

by Anonymousreply 161June 22, 2020 7:17 AM

[quote]I don't understand why they admitted to it.

Literally before every single Trump rally the same stunt is done. Go back on social media and see people telling everyone before all the other rallies to request "tickets". It's crazy that anyone is treating this like the first time people have tried this. It's always been so stupid because the people doing it, including these kids, are too dumb to understand that there are no real tickets and requesting any doesn't reduce the supply whatsoever. I guess the emptiness at the venue gave an opportunity to claim a false success and the media of course won't fact check the claim.

by Anonymousreply 162June 22, 2020 10:15 AM

Unfortunately, a bunch of these kids aren’t enough to vote in November. But when they are....

by Anonymousreply 163June 22, 2020 10:45 AM

[quote] When millennials and gen z run the world things are going to really change

R147, Millennials supported a geriatric Senator who probably still remembers the construction of Noah's Arc.

When Gen Z are old enough to vote (the oldest ones already can - they're ca. 25 now), the ones "running the world" will actually be Gen X, especially those born in the late 70s (they'll take over from the Boomers).

Most of Gen Z (esp. those born after 2000 AD) will only be running the world closer to the 2050s. By which time of course "things are going to really change". They always do every half century. I'm trying to foresee during which upcoming decade might WW3 happen - because it's highly unlikely that the world will go half a century without any type of international war.

by Anonymousreply 164June 22, 2020 12:36 PM

[quote] It's crazy that anyone is treating this like the first time people have tried this.

Nobody really is. They're treating it as astonishing that, after years of people claiming tickets they had no intention of using, the GOP was still fooled by the trick and looked like idiots because of it.

Not sure why you're claiming the tactic is stupid when it clearly worked, and worked very well. Trump hyped this as a huge turnout and he got bupkis. Sorry that hurts your feelings but no amount of "fake news, journalists won't fact check" is going to change what happened.

by Anonymousreply 165June 22, 2020 3:59 PM

Look, this is all you need to know: The Trump campaign has been humiliated by all of this. Don't try and dissect it, don't dismiss it. It was an unmitigated disaster and embarrassment. And here's another thing you need to understand: The onus will be on the Trump campaign to FILL the next rally because I'm sure they'll set up a system to verify tickets, so they won't have "meddling kids" to blame the next time.

Where I do agree is I don't want our side to get cocky or arrogant. It's fun to make fun of that bloated fool, but we have to stay focused on November.

by Anonymousreply 166June 22, 2020 4:28 PM

[quote]the ones "running the world" will actually be Gen X, especially those born in the late 70s (they'll take over from the Boomers).

Nope. Gen X is a lost political generation. Unions groomed a lot of young Democratic politicians on state/local levels, but vast numbers of these dissolved in the 90s along with industrialization, taking their political infrastructure with them. The Boomer politicians not only didn't seem to see any need to retire, they didn't bother to cultivate successors. (Notice that the average age of Washington Democratic officeholders is >65.)

Most Gen Xs work outside politics; understandably they don't appear inclined to wild leaps into late-life career changes. The Millennials are already taking the reins, and hopefully they'll do a better job.

by Anonymousreply 167June 22, 2020 4:50 PM

From what I’ve read, anyone who showed up at the venue was admitted on a first-come first-serve basis, and there were never any actual "tickets", printed or virtual. The online registration is just a ploy to collect phone numbers and email addresses. So the kids didn’t take any seats away from anyone who really wanted to be there. Why did only 6,000 show up?

by Anonymousreply 168June 22, 2020 5:01 PM

Because even some deplorables believe COVID is real. They're still stupid enough to vote for that asshole, but not stupid enough to sit there in a giant petri dish and potentially die to listen to him.
