Why wasn't he a bigger star?

He was so handsome and charming.

Who is that person? Maybe that question explains why 'he wasn't a bigger star?'

by Anonymousreply 1June 20, 2020 7:48 AM

We need more details than just a photo and your fangirl fantasy, OP. I wouldn’t exactly call him handsome based on what you’ve shown us so far. Is this an Elder Gay thing?

by Anonymousreply 2June 20, 2020 7:52 AM

Apparently the "why wasn't he a bigger star?" troll has lost his mind, he cannot even remember names of these no body actors anymore.

Alejandro Rey??

Not Tony Franciosa.

by Anonymousreply 4June 20, 2020 8:02 AM

Yes, Alejandro Rey.

Probably the accent held him down. Buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.

R4 and R5 for the win.

You old girls know your actor faces.

Did he do anything except for that silly nun show?

Wasn't he very skinny?

by Anonymousreply 7June 20, 2020 8:30 AM

As for being a "bigger star" Alejandro Rey had a decent enough television career, on par with many others who would have been "B" actors if studio system still existed.

I'm curious, OP. You needed to post this; what was your connection?

by Anonymousreply 9June 20, 2020 8:38 AM

To be fair Alejandro Rey was already an established film and theater actor in Buenos Aries before arriving in USA. He was only here for 25 years before dying of cancer aged 57.

Accent wasn't that strong, nothing that couldn't be worked with or upon.

OP, did you also know Perfecto Telles? He was Argentinian also, wasn't he?

by Anonymousreply 11June 20, 2020 8:41 AM

R9

He's been hitting that bottle of gin again while flipping through Find A Grave.....

I've been watching a lot of The Flying Nun late at night, Always though he was hot.

by Anonymousreply 13June 21, 2020 1:45 AM

Alejandro was versatile

He was my first serious crush. I was 10 and he was so dreamy in The Flying Nun.

He was featured in "Fun in Acapulco" with Elvis Presley. He had a pretty good career for a guy with an accent.
