It was originally supposed to be an action movie starring Steve McQueen. After his death, it was rewritten as a comedy and offered to Burt Reynolds.

It really reads like a list of rapists and accomplices.

Cannonball Run I and II are movies even Burt was ashamed of. On the Tonight Show, he said he was offered CBR III and turned it down and a few people in the audience applauded.

Amazing Burt turned out to be gay. So many of my teenage lust objects were gay. If only I knew.

Adrienne should have won an Oscar.

Adrienne should have done Rizzo in the movie of Grease. She did a lot of work at the Burt Reynolds dinner theater so she and Burt were good friends.

In his memoir Burt stated that after he made the Cannonball movies no one in Hollywood took him seriously anymore and the phone stopped ringing. He toppled from his box office perch and the days of "Deliverance" were long gone. He also regretted posing for the famous semi-nude photo (shown above) because again, he felt in the long run that people didn't take him seriously - but on this one I disagree with him. It was a big break out for male nudes and encouraged other men to lighten up and show some skin.

Who knew Jackie Chan was famous in the 80s? I thought he was just a 90s/00s star.

When he did Starting Over, he was so charming, so suave. And relatable. Even in something like At Long Last Love, he proved his talent as a romantic leading man. His bread and butter were the lowest common denominator movies like CBR or Smokey and the Bandit but he couldn't have it both ways.
