They used a surrogate.

He's hot.

by Anonymousreply 1June 18, 2020 11:37 PM

Why wouldn’t they be, OP??

by Anonymousreply 2June 18, 2020 11:43 PM

I insisted on a natural conception.

by Anonymousreply 3June 18, 2020 11:45 PM

OP, egg freezing has been a thing for decades now.

by Anonymousreply 4June 19, 2020 12:12 AM

'Okay' = No autism, no Down Syndrome, no birth defects, physical or otherwise.

by Anonymousreply 5June 19, 2020 12:17 AM

well I congratulate them both. I think it would be tough to think about being 70 years old when they graduate from college. I'm 56, can't imagine having 9 year old twins..... yech.

The fiancé looks like porn star Alex Jones.

I didn't think she wanted kids.

by Anonymousreply 8June 19, 2020 8:32 AM

She is 46 and haven’t they had the baby since earlier in the year? She does turn 47 in 2 months however. I actually don’t think is too bad . He is 43. If the sexes were reverse would it matter as much to people? No it would not.

by Anonymousreply 9June 19, 2020 8:57 AM

Selfish.

by Anonymousreply 10June 19, 2020 10:00 AM

His hasn't done that much in his career compared to her.

by Anonymousreply 11June 19, 2020 10:41 AM

At least she didn’t try to pretend that she gave birth like Janet Jackson and Beyoncé.

by Anonymousreply 12June 19, 2020 10:53 AM

She's grandmother age. Not impressed.

by Anonymousreply 13June 19, 2020 11:36 AM

I was born when my mother was 43, and I'm okay.......Honest!

by Anonymousreply 14June 19, 2020 11:45 AM

My dad was 50 when I was born and my mom was 33. They were great parents. My dad lived till 96 and my mom till 86.

by Anonymousreply 15June 19, 2020 11:47 AM

R15 When you were 18, dad was 68 and mom was 51...not bad in today's world. Good for you (and them).

by Anonymousreply 16June 19, 2020 4:16 PM

My dad was 45 when I was born and before I was even in Kindergarten he had health problems which would keep him from being able to really participate in a lot of stuff with me, especially sports. He couldn't even go to a lot of high school activities I was in if it went past 9PM, he was just too tired. A friend of mine had a similar situation with her dad, too. It sucked.

The truth is that some people are fine having kids at 47 and some people are just seconds away from health issues at that age.

by Anonymousreply 17June 19, 2020 4:20 PM

They used a surrogate and she may have frozen eggs previously or else they could have used a donor egg.

by Anonymousreply 18June 19, 2020 4:24 PM

Everything normal?

Love her!

by Anonymousreply 20June 19, 2020 4:30 PM

As you age, you have less energy, patience and money (usually) - all things you need a good supply of to raise young children. Not to generalize, just saying it's a decision that shouldn't be taken lightly in any case, especially at an older age.

by Anonymousreply 21June 19, 2020 5:00 PM

True about the energy, r21, but not about the patience, and dead wrong about the money. Older parents -- ceteris paribus -- have a lot more money than young parents just starting their careers when the kids are born.

Children of older mothers typically test higher on IQ scores than those of younger mothers (fathers historically haven't been factored in in studies like this).

When oder parents have kids, it's because they really want children, and not because it "happened". They have more resources and are often more into parenting (which of course has downsides, see "helicopter parents"), so by and large their kids do fine.

All of this of course assumes the kids are born healthy, which becomes a bigger risk with rising parental age.

[Quote] As you age, you have less energy,

In Kristen's case, she could just hire a nanny.

by Anonymousreply 23June 20, 2020 3:54 AM

R22 Exactly putting aside the issues of how old the parents are going to be as the kids grow up. We can't assume the kids are actually healthy in this case because the problem isn't the egg it's the sperm used. These kids totally are more likely to have health issues. This was a dumb selfish decision and more health workers need to be honest with parents who make these kinds of decisions.

It's selfish and dumb and for a lot of reasons.

I had triplets at 57 and they’re more than ok

They’re super ok

Super duper ok

by Anonymousreply 25June 20, 2020 4:10 AM

I can’t believe people bring innocent children into this shit world.

by Anonymousreply 26June 20, 2020 12:33 PM

The kids were probably have learning disabilities and will need special education services.

by Anonymousreply 27June 20, 2020 1:29 PM

R27, you might need a little of that special education yourself!

by Anonymousreply 28June 20, 2020 2:05 PM

I don't have the slightest urge to ever become a parent nor do I understand that drive but I don't really judge. I've seen more than enough children of young mothers become mentally disordered or druggies .

by Anonymousreply 29June 20, 2020 7:13 PM

[quote] Scientists are similarly careful about concluding that old dads cause autism, but have found a correlation between advanced paternal age (typically above 40) and autism in several studies. Compared to men in their 30s, chances of having a child with an autism diagnosis was 28% higher for men in their 40s, and 66% higher for men in their 50s, according to one study on over 5.7 million children across 5 countries. Researchers suspect that aging sperm might have a number of mutations that could be passed onto the child

And if those same females have children at a far older age - they face a statically even higher chance of developing mental disorders.

But of course that never stops the heterosexuals from breeding. Even those with a prevalent history of mental illness or chronic disease in the family still want to spawn & push out crotchfruit.
