Was actually a great show but not shown in reruns or on streaming services due to the difficulty in licensing music, which plays a key part in each episode.

R3 I remember seeing reruns of "Cold Case" airing on one of the cable channels (ad nauseum). .. It's currently a staple of "Start TV", which here in Los Angeles is a digital sub-channel. .. Their programming is described as:
[quote] Start TV is an American free-to-air television network owned by Weigel Broadcasting. Predominantly carried on the digital subchannels of its affiliated television station in most markets, it primarily airs classic television drama series from the 1980s through the 2000s, with a focus on dramas, police and legal procedurals geared toward female audiences.

Husbands, Wives and Lovers was an hour long sitcom that aired on CBS on Saturday nights in 1978. I remember watching this as a 12 year old when my parents were out on the town. I thought it was very adult. Seeing the credits it looks dreadful now. Apparently Joan Rivers worked on some of the writing.

'Dark Skies', a Saturday night NBC show set in the 60s (19 eps from fall of '96 to May of '97). Lots of intrigue about the Kennedy presidency and aliens. I was 16 and was entranced, to the point I checked out tons of books from the library about JFK and his assassination. Eric Close starring in the show didn't help me on my journey to try to be straight...I'm fairly certain I jerked off to a couple of eps.

To this day, whenever we encounter wallpaper with tiny figures on it, my younger sister -- who also watched it -- and I say, "They come alive at night." (Referencing the episode in which Marian hears scratches from the possessed wallpaper in her bedroom.)
Apologies for the excessive use of exclamation points, but no one I know (other than my sister) has even heard of "The Others," let alone ever watched it. It's DEFINITELY a show the world forgot about.

"First and Ten" reminded me of the excellent serial drama "Playmakers" on ESPN (2003). It was even dubbed the first soap opera for men. .. lol!
As I recall, there were too many controversial storylines for the NFL (e.g. drugs, a gay player, etc.), and they forced ABC-ESPN to pull the plug on it.
I think someone still has all the episodes on a channel at youtube.

The Devlin Connection
After the success of McMillan & Wife, NBC tried Rock Hudson in another detective series ca. 1982. (This was a couple of years before his final TV role in Dynasty.)
[quote[ Hudson stars as Brian Devlin, a former military intelligence officer and ex-owner of a detective agency who is now the director of the Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. Devlin meets racquetball pro and private investigator Nick Corsello (Scalia), who is revealed to be Devlin's son from a brief affair 28 years earlier.

The Charmings. Snow White and Prince Charming are placed under a sleeping spell by the Wicked Queen . But the spell backfires effecting everyone in the vicinity - the Charming, their children, their servant, the Queen herself - only to have them wake thousands of years later and in California (???). Worthy only for Christopher Rich as Prince Charming.

[quote]California Dreams -- a low-rent, wannabe Saved by the Bell
I remember that one. Peter Engel produced that too along with other shows that NBC aired on Saturday mornings throughout the 90s into the early 2000s under the TNBC programming. I was a kid and teen in the 90s and early 00s, I watched all these as guilty pleasures. The original Saved by the Bell is the only one that people remember. Saved by the Bell: The New Class gets ignored. Back when Freeform was known as ABC Family, Hang Time was aired and I remember WGN airing reruns of City Guys for awhile.
All About Us (2001) Brains & Brawn (1993–1994) California Dreams (1992–1997) City Guys (1997–2001) Double Up (1992-1993) Hang Time (1995–2001) Just Deal (2000–2002) Name Your Adventure (1992–1995) One World (1998–2000) Running the Halls (1993–1994) Saved by the Bell (1989–1993) Saved by the Bell: The New Class (1993–2000) Sk8 (2001–2002)

R1 and R60 I watched BOTH those shows. :) In fact just this past week I noticed one of the nostalgia channels was actually showing War of the Worlds, unfortunately when I saw it in the listing it was something like episode 18 so I didn't bother watching. I can't remember which channel it was. WoTW was where I first recall coming across Adrian Paul(Highlander).
Here's one: The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne(2000), it was on the Sci Fi Channel(US). It was the first tv show filmed in HD, lasted 22 episodes but then various fights between the producers caused it to not get renewed(it had been renewed but the renewal was cancelled). It's not streaming, not released on DVD, probably will never be because of those same fights among the various producers. It was a little corny but I liked it. :)

r146 Or at least allowed a second season. Legacy was hotness personified. I wonder what happened to Jeremy Garrett. Plus, Grayson McCouch when he was still allowed to have hair. And Ron Melendez. Wasn’t his character adopted, yet he was the only one who truly looked like Brett Cullen?

Anyone remember that show that was briefly on Fox back in I think the 2014-2015 season, starring Rainn Wilson as some douchey psychoanalyst (or whatever the fuck it was that he actually did in that show)? He’d meet a new character and imagine what it was like inside their head and then start a cheesy monologue where he’d go, “I’m a... *insert absurdly accurate first impression here!*” ALWAYS with the exact same tone and expression. It was painfully cheesy and didn’t last very long.
It also starred that deep-voiced All State man.

It's only legacy is that episode of 'Roseanne' in which the Conners take a trip out to L.A. and attend a taping of "The Jackie Thomas Show", the show within this forgotten show. Tom Arnold appears as Jackie Thomas, even though he'd been a regular on 'Roseanne' as a different character. Probably a confusing episode for people who've forgotten, or don't know about "The Jackie Thomas Show."

Both shows that Bryan Fuller was involved with.
Fuller always has great ideas but either they're cancelled early, or he flounces away from them if he doesn't get his way.

THE SLAP! On NBC. The only thing I remember about it is that there were two simultaneous DL threads about it when it started, and the lunatic OP of the second thread (who had somehow deluded himself into believing he was first) literally made a post that started with, "HELP ME!!!" because his thread had less replies. It was fucking hilarious.

R382 Someone at ABC hasn't forgotten "thirthysomething," because the network is (or was) getting ready to shoot the pilot of a sequel-type series to be called "thirtysomething(else)" with a younger cast and several of the original cast members. Like with everything else, I think it's on hold due to the shutdown.

I remember Reunion on FOX and I liked the setup. But, FOX messed around with the show and time slots due to the World Series and I recall they didn't promote it as much as they did with Prison Break which premiered the same season.
After it got canned I did wonder if it could have succeeded had it been on another network.

It's probably been mentioned already but does anyone remember "House Calls" from the early 80s with Wayne Rogers and Lynn Redgrave? I suppose because it had the guy from MASH it was somehow required viewing by my parents but as a kid I just remember it being incredibly boring.

NBC had their own Grey’s Anatomy rip-off for a little while called Mercy. The protagonist was some forgettable blonde woman. The male lead was James Tupper (David Clark on Revenge). I think it may have lasted two or three seasons. It was so similar to Grey’s in its tone and structure that at times it felt like a big joke.

The forgettable blonde woman was Taylor Schilling. You may remember her from such hits as Orange Is the New Black.

Ion was having all-day reruns of Cold Case a few years ago.
I'm surprised it's not more popular though. It was "woke" for a cop show, so it would fit it with today's pop culture, but I liked it because it wasn't preachy and was frequently powerful and moving.

Also, OP's title reads "Shows The WORLD Forgot About." .. Some of these shows haven't been forgotten about in foreign countries.
e.g. Cold Case is currently running in France. Another one I know of in France right of right now is "Early Edition." That left American airwaves back in 2000. It's called "Demain à la une" there.
Someone above mentioned "Perfect Strangers." They apparently had an affinity for that in Saudi Arabia.

Union Square - yet another 90s workplace comedy. I tuned in because had a crush on Michael Landes who was positioned as the romantic lead in the pilot, but relegated to a supporting role as the series went on. Harriet Sampson Harris was in it so that was a bright spot in an otherwise awful show.

[quote]Picket Fences, sad to say. You'd think it'd be perfect for syndication on USA or TNT or something, but I never see it anywhere.
I remember seeing it on cable reruns in the early 00s. It was an interesting show that had storylines that were sort of ahead of the time, but I could see those storylines behind slammed today. I recall there was a storyline in which a school teacher in the town was revealed to be a transwoman and another storyline where the sheriff's teen daughter was being hit on by a lesbian teacher.
