Suicide is not new to Indian public figures. I think a lot of them realize no matter how famous or rich they are, they'll always be part of a rigid culture that prescribes very specific expectations for people.

r16 I'm not a medical professional but I once worked with a teamster (Hollywood) who demonstrated the knock out choke hold for me and a couple of other guys I was working with. You are behind someone and you put your arm around their neck, the bend of your arm is lined up with their adams apple and you squeeze like you are putting their neck in a vise between your forearm and your bicep. Poor guy always felt like an outsider in the heavily nepotistic Indian film industry. He had actual talent and good looks unlike the shallow, goofy scions of stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor (who was himself the product of a film dynasty).

His agent committed suicide a few days before him by jumping off a building. She was a young woman, and one wonders if this is related. Also, his long time, ex-girlfriend just got engaged a few weeks ago.

And leave it to soulless Indians, who were quick to disseminate photos of his dead body in his bed, complete with rope marks around his neck. And go to his father’s house and shove a camera in his face as he sat on his sofa and wept. Classy.

Looks like some are claiming that Karan Johar and Salman Khan may have possibly been bullying Sushant for the past 2 years. That a lead role in a movie he was supposed to do was taken away from him and given to Ranveer Singh because Sushant had previously refused to do a certain movie. It's also being alleged that Karan,Salman and a few others in Bollywood were trying to blacklist him.

Various Bollywood celebrities are now being called out over what happened to Sushant and the industry in general. One of the names being called out is super nepotistic asshole, "Hollywood has been begging me to star in their projects" Ranbir Kapoor. I wonder if one the of the reason Karan Johar was blacklisting Sushant is because he wouldn't fuck him like several of Bollywood's current leading men are alleged to have done.

R49 is correct, If you're really serious about killing yourself, hanging is surprisingly effective and easy to do. It's not about cutting off air it's about cutting off blood supply.
