Got an email from a friend who works on the crew of a Belgian soap. He said Doedens is not well liked at all by the crew and tolerated by his fellow actors. He’s a diva. They think he should have been permanently gone after his cocaine addiction totally fucked up the shooting schedule in 2004/2005. He was apparently dumped by his Brazilian bf in February (apparently because of his ongoing alcohol/substance abuse issues). When the lockdown and GTST shutdown happened he couldn’t face being along and constantly had friends over his place to hang out. He also spent time with his niece, who’s three or four years old. Cast members were supposedly about to show his Instagram photos to production but his YouTube interview did the trick, instead, My crew friend said they’ll have him back for at least a while. The joke on his set is he’ll be “Dead Doedens Walking.” Yes, they speak English a lot and use English phrasing on his set, too,

He comes off badly in the Wicked-Sing-a-long clip I posted but that was probably nerves. He was an alternate in the role of Fiyero and the other guy clearly has a better trained voice. And the Elphaba, Willemijn Verkaik, probably wiped him off the stage. He sure is pretty, though.
