You should have seen all the queens milling about on the street in front of a gay bar in NYC today. No social distancing. I saw a lot of dumb gays out today, no masks, no distance.

Even with a mask, a bar straight or gay is one of the worse places to be. Also, I would remind people that many cities are under an additional curfew, due to the violent protests.

Gays are going to bars amid this pandemic? You would think they know better after the first time around and leave the idiot behavior to right-wingers trolling the local Trader Joe's.

I was talking with my Dad about this today (though not strictly about gay bars). "Bars" are not yet allowed to open where I live, but restaurants are. I've lived in multiple states in the west and midwest. I could not think of. a place except Chicago that has an establishments that is "strictly" a bar. Almost every place serves some kind of food and can be a "restaurant".

What a weird question, OP. If our local gay bar doesn't say "wear a mask" why would anyone go there?

I live in Jersey/New York metro now, but there were bars without food to be found in other states I've lived as well. Especially with gay bars I think most gay bars I've been to in my life do not sell food.

I don’t usually go to bars, but I wouldn’t wear a mask. I don’t drink beer or wine with a straw.

I assume bars are no mask, no entry. None of the places I passed don't let you enter, anyway. All the drinking seems to be outside, with no distancing.

It might depend on whether the bar had hot male bartenders wearing only masks with matching jock straps.

I’m fine wearing a mask to the grocery store or necessary errands.

I don’t find them comfortable and would not wear one out to socialize or go somewhere unnecessary.

Just my choice. I’ll stay home till I can breathe.

You must not get out much or be very young - most gay bars in the country are alcohol only. It's actually a small minority that have food served.

California bars have food served.

Plenty do. It was characterized as a small minority. It is not.

I'm all for wearing a mask. But not in a bar. So I just wouldn't go to a bar. It wouldn't be a sign of protest. A bar just wouldn't be my preference in which to hang out.

What is even your argument r31? First you claim "California bars serve food", then you backtrack saying some serve food.

So as you admit, there are lots of gay bars in California which do not serve food.
